13 pos in 9 minutes...3-3 from floor 1-1 from 3. 6-8 from FT.. not bad
Was in almost all the 4th Quarter
there are 2 videos of JP scoring in the video section.. Well done
from Dallas web site
The Mavericks, leaning on deep reserves down the stretch, were down 115-114 before Charlotte's J.P. Macura hit a 3-pointer with 50 seconds to go. The Mavericks never got closer than three on the final possessions.

Go JP!
He’s gotta get some serious roster consideration. At least make them think twice...
Ha! With 9 minutes and 13 points, JP is one of the first guys you would guess! Classic JP!

Love to see him doing well, he can definitely carve out a spot on that roster as a "high energy" guy, you know he's going to go out there and give you his all, and when he's hot, he can score in a boat load. I'm hoping his defense improves, but I could see him sticking it out in the NBA just with the attitude, and effort he puts out. Here's to hoping we get to see a lot more of JP during the year.
What? All the wannabe NBA experts on here said JP and Trevon would never play in the NBA. If you're a hustling, pain in the ass, likeJP, or can shoot, like Bluiett, there is a place for you on an NBA bench.

Hope he makes it but the preseason rosters are pretty big. He can be the high energy guy off the bench but will get very little playing time. In that case wouldn’t one be better of playing in the D League where you can work on your game or are you better off participating in practices at the higher level?

This is the reality. He certainly should, and probably will end up in the d league, but it was great for him to get a chance to light it up last night. He will get notice for that. It’s his calling card, and when he improves his game through the d league, he will get a shot to make a roster.

I thought I saw this week that Trevon was the #4 or #5 scorer so far for N.O. Pelicans...

Good clips. Nice to see J.P. in action again. It would be great if he makes the team.

He’d (anyone) would be much better off getting coached by NBA coaches than playing time in D league

I agree 100%. Not to mention he will be going up against NBA talent in practice every day.

I honestly think a if a player is sent to the d league he is better off playing a year in Europe.
Make more money, showcase yourself, try again next year.

If looks like Trevon is on the 15 person roster to start season..Good luck to him. He gave us so much..and in watching replays on my rowing machine I see how much the defense was keying on him to keep him from getting space. Will have lots of good practice opportunities and who knows.

If the goal is to make the NBA then the G-league is the way to go only because of exposure. Teams still are too connected to the G league to keep tabs on everyone in europe, unfortunately. I could be wrong but there aren’t a lot of players I can think of that go to Europe and then come back to the NBA. Whereas the G league advertise such instances.

If you're in the D league, you are constantly being watched by the parent team, and other parent teams. Competition might be better in Europe, but you are already in the system in the D league.

Well I'll be damned! I been saying, there is always room for a hustling pain in the ass, with a decent shot on an NBA bench.
That, coupled with Sumner and Tre should make quite an impression on the recruits coming to Madness this weekend.

Did tre make the actual roster is he starting in the D league? I didn't see Gates on the Bulls roster.

I just did basic research on Trevon.
3 preseason games played. 7.7 minutes per game. 2.7 points per game.
Hope he gets a spot.
JP got a spot with one great game 13 points 9 minutes. 4.4 minutes per game. 3.25 points per game. That 13 point performance sealed his roster spot.

Just a blurb in the paper. Maybe they sent him to the d league? It didn’t say that, though

Kaiser's off and on effort will probably hold him back.

That coupled with the fact that he isn't that talented at that level. If he was talented enough, his lack of effort wouldn't be as much of an issue.

He did shoot 100% in the pre-season. (1-1) Gotta count for something

guys - not taking away from the fact that they deserve it, but as 2 way players they always technically get a roster spot. NBA rosters can hold up to 15 players PLUS any 2-way players. doesn't mean they're permanently with the nba team. JP making the opening night roster just means that he didn't get cut, which can happen to 2-way players.
Tre is in an interesting situation as the Pels are one of the NBA teams remaining that don't have their own G-League team. Their 2 way players usually play on other teams, but haven't heard about where Tre landed

The Pels cut two players on Saturday, so Bluiett is still on the 16 man roster for the opener. Pels play Gary Clark and the Houston Rockets. (Clark is also a two-way on the 16 man roster.)
NBA teams have a little bit of flex at the end of their bench in that these two way guys can basically get some looks in the first games before the G League begins in November. There's a good chance they get sent down and the team then gives those spots to some vet willing to take a 10-day contract again and again.
The good news for 4-year college players like Bluiett and Macura is they are already experienced enough that their team might not be as hesitant to call on them over a short term contract player. But that said them staying in playing shape at the G League isn't the worst thing if they get called up later.
