What's with the Friday night game at Villanova? Is that something new FS1 is trying out?
Glad Creighton is on a Sunday afternoon. I'll try to hit that one.

Six 6:30 weekday games and a 6pm weekday game. That is terrible. I like at Nova on a Friday night. A lot of good travel opportunities. At nova, prov, depaul, marquette, and creighton all on weekends and at Gtown and St John's on Thursday nights.

I’m sure you could pull any group of five consecutive games and say “yikes”, but...
2/16- @Providence
2/20- @ Seton Hall
2/24- vs Nova
2/28- @ St John’s
3/5- @ Butler
Yikes.

The travel schedule isn't terribly conducive for me. I see DePaul and Butler (which isn't an away game for me) and not much else. Don't love the early start times.

Going to be tough to get to 20 wins through the regular season.
9-9 in league play would mean going 11-2 in the non conference.
I think the more likely scenario would be starting off a bit slower b/c of all the new guys and going 11-7 in league play.

This team better really be prepared for playing on the road late in the season. If their record is bouncing on the bubble heading into February, I'm thinking it could be a rough landing with all those road games.

I think we might be going to the Georgetown away game this season. Anybody been to a Georgtown away game before? Got any tips?

Yeah....watch your wallet. Those folks in Washington are always looking for a way to get into it. :(

Games on the weekend are at best 40% full, can only imagine what weekday games are like. I plan on going but spending the weekend in Baltimore. If you can get an Alumni group together, you can find a suite on the after market pretty inexpensive.

Yes. It's a great trip. Easy to get tickets. What specifically are you wanting to know?

In Conn I will try to make Providence, Seton Hall and St Johns. If I can go by myself (it is not a great date night) I have always been able to get a single seat cheap. Now that I am not working at 63 I guess I have the flexibility

Favorite hotels, places to eat etc.
Any idea where the team usually stays?
Ever fly to Baltimore instead and take the train to D.C.? If so, how was that like? Southwest seems to have a pretty cheap non-stop flight from CVG to BWI (Baltimore).

I fly into Reagan as it’s on the metro. Then I pick a hotel on the metro as well. I’ve stayed numerous places. I’ll look and see where I stayed last time we went. I believe it was in Pentagon City. There are closer stops to the tje Arena.

Agreed. Guess I’ll be leaving work early a lot. There’s no way to work until 5:00, get home to pick up my wife, and make those tip-offs.

I don't see a scenario that ends with them having more than 18 regular season wins. Not the end of the world, and hopefully Travis will learn a lot this year that will help him shrink his learning curve in the big chair, but unless a ton goes right, this team feels like a 16-18 win team.

There's no way in hell this team finishes 16-16 or 16-17 unless multiple major injuries occur.

i think a very realistic win total before the BE tourney is 18-20 games...I don't expect more or less than that

Those early weekday games have to be a pain in the arse for people going to the games, but they also suck for those of us living out west. The games are nearly over by the time you get home from work and turn on the tube.:bash:

Schedule Notes:
1 - Season has been moved out a week. Last year we ended on Sat 3/3. This year on Sat 3/9
2 - We start our conference play a week earlier than the ACC; Dec 29 versus Jan 6
3 - Someone like Duke even has an extra game in conference (St Johns) as we sometimes had Cincinnati
4 - So, we have a more relaxed conference schedule (18 games over one more week), but a little more compact in the non-confernce
Wonder which way is better for the team?

I heard Mario Mecurio (assistant AD) on a podcast. He says this schedule is really favorable compared to all the other ones in years past.
He said that it has good days of rest, good opponents for a high seed, and home/away nonconference is ideal except annoying us with Wisconsin.

Heard that podcast also. Some other interesting ridbits about scheduling on it, were that they will soon announce exempt tournaments for the next 4 years, there are ongoing discussions at the conference office level about agreements with other conferences for games similar to the Gaviett, the “Ohio Tip-off” is probably at least 3 years from happening, if ever, and look for an August overseas trip to Spain next year for the team. Lots of interesting stuff on it.

Shannon has mentioned that we'll likely be in Charleston, back in Orlando, and back in the Bahamas 3 of the next 4 years.(in no particular order)

The stateside exempts interest me more than the out of country at this point. It's cost prohibitive for me at least.

Do they even have quads anymore with this new NET system?

Yes. The layout of the team sheet is exactly the same. It's just that the data is sorted by the NET and not the RPI
