Ramsey has major upside!! Excellent news. He could be a force for Xavier. Travis Steele and his staff are doing a great job!

This Hayes guy seems like maybe he can recruit a little.

Jonah Hayes is en fuego!! Looks like our class for 2019 is coming along nicely, looking for a couple more pieces to fall, but we could definitely have a top 15 class in the country at this rate. Lots of potential for Ramsey, and we needed to secure a big body. Pumped to say the least.

Know it’s way early but rank stands at 13!
Wow what a motor this kid has!

Well done! I love that this kid already can get into motion and post a hook shot quickly.
His comments about his visit to campus are really reassuring about the new coaching staff.

Great choice Ramsey!
Would Tyrique be a decent comparison for Ramsey? Similar size, rankings according to 247, and motor from what I can tell

Agree! Heck I would even take Zeke Nnaji from Mr Johnson! He can be the one letter better than Naji!

Im picking up some sarcasm, but those two recruits are not going to happen for Xavier.

Good catch!!! However, just waiting to see what Johnson will bring to the table (heard he’s a heck of a player’s coach). Still way to early to tell, but heard his former recruiting area has a plethora of talent for 2019.

We gotta give Johnson some time, he got Amir Coffey and Daniel Oturu to Minnesota, so there's no doubt in my mind that he's going to bring some good talent into Xavier. He's in on some pretty good talent for 2019 like you said, such as Tray Jackson (4*, top 100; predicted to Oklahoma however), and attempting to get some guys to flip from places they've committed to. I think Hayes just ran into a bit of good fortune, we have a lot of playing time available at a pretty well known program, King, Odom, and Ramsey committed to that idea. Plus the talent level out of Georgia is just insane right now, those three, and we're in on Jaylin Williams too. I think both of our assistants will show why they were hired, give Johnson some time to get it going, I have a feeling he'll nab a few high quality guys as well.

Haha! Xavier’s successful recruiting policy: recruit in whichever state Tom Crean lives

We wont be lacking for talent, that is for sure. Hopefully Steele and company can coach as good as they recruit, I think we are on the verge of something special.
Incredible news indeed!!!! Someone I was so hoping would choose X- a truly great fit.
WELCOME- WELCOME... MR. RAMSEY!!!! So very glad you are one of us now. Can't wait to see you doing your thing while in an X uniform.
Now you can focus on getting commitments from a few more preospects who will nicely fill in the other areas of need.

My only worry here, honestly, is that he played on the UA circuit. That league is notorious for being weak. Didn't he play a bit on the EYBL with the Georgia Stars?

He'll be a bit of a project, for sure, as I'm sure he doesn't compete against a ton of people taller. But I really like this recruit. Great motor. Good IQ. He still has a year to improve and I'm sure he'll be thinking about ways to improve his skills.

EVERY recruit and EVERY team is “a bit of a project”.......LOL. There are lots of HS players that are 6’8” and taller, but not many that are that tall and weigh 220. There isn’t that many in college that have that combo either. He may not see many opposing players of that size in his regular HS games, but he has certainly seen a fair number in the summer leagues. While the summer leagues are not as organized as the high school regular seasons are, the players have the opportunity to play many more games, against a much wider span of opposition. I’m sure that he has gone up against tough competition there and he has certainly held his own. I’m extremely happy with the players that Steele and the other coaches have brought in....the transfers and the HS recruits....and I expect to continue to be happy with what is still going to happen in that area.
