It has been a while since Coach Steele said that his hoped-for date in naming the final Assistant Coach would be June 25. Obviously, that date has come and gone and, unless I live in a vacuum, that position has not yet been filled.
Are there any new rumors floating around on who the likely candidate for that position will be? Has Coach Steele mentioned a new target date for the naming of that third coach?

I think there are several options still. The next open evaluation period is around July 11th I think and he will have an assistant before that date.

Yeah if anything I think it's a good thing he's vetting and finding the best possible candidate for X. Maybe he makes a splash hire, who knows, I'd like to think he's gonna get someone with ties to the DC area, or north of it, that way we can cover a lot of ground for opening up recruiting areas since we have Hayes in Georgia's area, and Johnson in Minnesota's area.

We need someone with good east coast connections, that's for sure.

100% agree or we can choose not to compete with BE recruiting in east and pick from the southeast and mid-north atlantic players. We do own Indiana with Steele's connections.

We definitely could, but it would be nice to branch out and have experts in as much area as possible. The bigger the area, the more recruits, the better chance of getting an impact player in my opinion.

Wouldn't be so sure about owning Indiana with how Archie looks to be getting things in gear at IU...

Just bring Dante back.

Just bring Dante back.
Bring Thornton back. Bring Kelsey back. Bring me back. I'd be happy to recruit 20 hours a day, watch game film, make scouting reports and have no life for 1 year then get paid well.

For those new to the process...
1) Click on the "Settings" button in the top right corner of the page.
2) In the bar on the left side of the page, go to "Paid Subscriptions" (it's just below another great feature... the ignore list)
3) Under "Supporting Membership" select the 1 Year option for the low price of $12.50
4) Hit Order
5) You can either pay through a PayPal account (top of the page), or pay through a debit or credit card without signing up for a PayPal account (bottom of the page).
6) Enjoy!
I don't think Travis cares where the guy has ties. I am fully expecting Dante to get the job and I don't necessarily think that is a bad thing.

I only care that he is young(25-30), experienced(3-8 years knowledge or recruiting and knows all ins and outs of plays)
A Luke Murray twin?

I definitely agree, I'd love to have Dante. Proven winner here at X, still young so can relate to the guys and recruits, has been through it so he can relate, and a natural leader. I'm sure he'd be a great addition to a pretty decent staff already, hopefully it's announced soon.

I'd also like to see that happen but

I doubt he was ever a candidate yet. Why take Kent when X is on the table. It makes no sense.

Because unlike Steele going into the offseason, he wasn't almost guaranteed the job he wanted at X. He had a much better opportunity in Kent than where he was so he took it. He probably thought at the time his chance at an X assistant job was slim to none. He is definitely a candidate right now though.

Means absolutely nothing. He has definitely interviewed for the job and that was just recently. He would jump at it if offered. New job at Kent State or not.

I'd like to think Kent State would understand the opportunity to coach at your alma mater and be okay with it as well, it would be madness if didn't anything to hurt Dante's reputation by just accepting that job offer and coming to X if he were offered in my opinion.

Ooooh I like it. Could be something interesting cooking up or it could just be a visit, but I hope it's the former.
