The reality is there are only so many roster spots. There are a lot of players who have the talent but it's a number game and just depends on the right opportunity.

It's an interesting counterpoint to the notion that colleges "exploit" their athletes and that the world would be somehow better if these guys were semi-pro athletes instead. Let's face it, if someone is paying you, they expect a lot more out of you. And they're even less loyal to you.

As anyone who's ever been on a college campus should know: college basketball players have an incredibly sweet deal.
