I need some help and wondered if any of you fine gentleman have this service. My brother lives in Lebanon and has Dish. He lives on Wilmington Rd. by Caesar's Creek and I'm not sure if his local channels are Cincy or Dayton.

Anyway, he doesn't have local channels in HD. He noticed during the Super Bowl-he's only had Dish recently-and during today's tourney games. I thought maybe he just needs to upgrade to a better package, but he doesn't think this is the case.

Does Dish not have access to local channels? I find it hard to believe they could compete if this were the case. Thanks.

Thanks Q. He did call but that can always be a question of who you get on the customer service end.

Dish does have local channels but they cannot as of now, broadcast them in HD. I have no idea why. Yet another reason to go w/ Directv.

I will use this opportunity to again encourage Xavier fans to get DirecTV.

Couldn't agree more. We have had DirecTV for about a year and a half and couldn't be happier with the service. I highly recommend to anyone looking to change service providers.

Some perspective, I switched from DirecTC to Dish, becuse DirecTV's customer service line started to be bad and becuase when I upgraded to HD, al kinds of problems with thier reception from their dish.

I have had less problems with signal outage since moving to DISH. I get all the programs I had with DirectTV. Right now DirectTV had a bit more in HD programming.

Really either is good. I just had a bad experience with DirectTV.

I'm satisfied with DirecTV overall, but the point is I get every televised Xavier basketball game without worry. Priority number one.

Year after year, game after game, people panic about availability. That can be eliminated.

I did not miss any televised XU game on DISH.

Then I leave it to the discerning Xavier fan to decide. I guess the ultimate point is Time Warner Cable is a constant source of confusion and frustration. Drop it like a bitchy girlfriend.

Joebba, I think you had the wrong dish from DTV. If you get the oblong dish which connects to their newest satellite you would have no problems with HD.

I had the correct DirecTV dish but still had issues. I think both DISH and DIRECTV are good. I just want to point out to those trying to decide, that DISH is also a good option.
