My wife and I and our 2 year old son have a hotel in downtown at the Hyatt Place. A half mile from the arena. My question is what time does XU play and when will they make this announcement? Is it smart to buy all session tickets or just 1 session tickets? Thanks in advance!! See ALL of you down there. Today IS like Christmas!!!
I’ll be there, and I’m very interested in ticket info. Any suggestions? I usually just go through StubHub and pay through the nose. This is special so I hope for some decent seats.
Just buy your session, you can get Sunday tickets Friday night. Take a credit card with a high limit. Hotel prices in Nashville are higher than Chicago. Parking downtown town is high also. But, it's great city to party in.

Hotels are indeed expensive. I’m there a lot. We had a function there recently and I had family stay at the Hampton Inn by Vanderbilt. There are several others nearby. It’s only about an $8-10 Uber Ride into town, and the hotels are much cheaper. Not cheap, but cheaper. It would cost more to park than to Uber.
If you have no budget issues, or just want to stop in for a drink, the Hermitage right downtown is very nice. Right around the arena is honky tonk area, lots of loud, mostly country music. It’s fun, but for me it gets old after a bit. To escape I recommend The Gulch, which is a cool area a bit of a walk or a very short Uber ride. It’s a college town and Uber coverage is awesome!
I’m fired up about this!

Hotel recommendation.....unless you really want to be downtown, look south on I65 around the Brentwood or Franklin areas. You will find they are less expensive, there are plenty of places to eat around them, they are great areas of town, and only about 20 minutes from the Arena. If you are staying for the weekend there are lots and lots of things to do too!

Agreed, also a nice area just a little farther out to the south. Some very nice newer hotels. I think I shopped a Hilton Garden Inn for an event. It was fresh, clean and affordable. Multiple options that way. If we were to move to Nashville, I’d look around Brentwood. The good news is, going in to town on a Friday afternoon/evening, you’re going against traffic and it’s not bad. (Getting out would suck at rush hour.)

Someone has a puckish sense of humor. If both win on Friday, then X and UC would play in the same session Sunday. Could be odd cheering patterns

82...you must make a whole s***load of money if you are would consider Brentwood! LOL. Average house there is somewhere north of 1/2 a million! That where many of the music people have their big homes, and the housing market there (and in Franklin) is super hot!

We have a condo in Green Hills and I/we were planning to be there this weekend anyway. Orlando last year was a blast, and I was amazed at how many people were just fans without a team in the local game.
I planned for Nashville months ago because I knew the NCAA was there. The wife had some business come up there, so she decided to make that our weekend with the grandson. She asked “are your friends coming? Will this cramp your style?”. FUCK YES, I thought as I said “no dear”.
P.S. - Our son lived in a condo across the street from Vanderbilt. His next door neighbor was Kelsea Balereni, some huge then-newcomer on the country scene. I see her on TV now doing commercials, not just in the hallway or in the pool. What does $1,750/month get you there? A 1 BR/1Bath with about 650 SF. It was cheaper to buy the condo!

The wife and I did the same thing a few months back when we saw Nashville on the schedule. We used to have a house in Franklin but sold it a year ago (I know, stupid!). We did Homeaway and got a small 2 berm. house in downtown Franklin reserved fri-mon for less than a hotel room would have cost. Greenhills is nice! I love the whole area, and if it weren’t for the grandkids living up here in NKY I would move back there full time. Now just got to figure out the best way to get tickets for the evening session.

I am VERY interested in ticket advice. Not sure if I have a friend or two coming to join me. Looks like probably on my own. I’d like decent seats, but I’ve never gone through the school. I let StubHub bleed me to death.

It is 7:20 Friday night, but also remember that Xavier played Ole Miss (who came off of a play-in game themselves) in the late afternoon game a few years ago.

Yeah, I’m curious about the tix. Probably just me, but may have a buddy showing up. That’s looking unlikely. Is there a better path than StubHub? I got SUPER lucky last year in Orlando thanks to a super fan looking to unload. What a great weekend!

check out vivid seats as well! I found them to be cheaper in a lot of cases then stub hub! My family and I are in section 120. By the way I believe the rows at Bridgestone arena start at AA then go from there.

Purchased tickets 2 months ago.
Good luck with prices going down with both UC and XU being there. I could be wrong.
I went to Buffalo last year and bought tickets from a guy on Craigslist who was also going to the games. Sold them to me for face value. I vetted him like I was going to let him watch my kids without having ever met him.

I stubhubbed it.
I went StubHub....and panicked! The first 7 seats I tried to get showed up as an error, already sold. I got a good seat for Friday and a balcony seat for Sunday. The balcony Sunday starts around $100 plus fees....so about a billion total.

I don't think tickets end up being that difficult. First round tickets are never, ever hard. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Trust me, ticket prices will fall all week long. Sunday tickets will be harder but the evening game time will limit traveling and it's a big arena. My advice: don't panic, you'll be fine if you let the market sort out this week.

Assuming both X & UC win, Sunday is going to be a crazy atmosphere!!! One game at a time. #LetsGoX

I won’t argue tickets will be available, and I’m not an expert here, but it seems Sunday tickets should be MORE available as the losing teams go home and are eager to get what they can. And yes, it’s a Sunday evening game for out of towners who want to hit the road.
As a rule, I get my tix before leaving home. By the time I have made the flight and hotel investment, I want to know I have decent seats. In this case I don’t have those expenses, but just followed my routine. I did panic a bit when my first 7 seats for Friday were gone already. THAT has never happened to me on Stubhub before. I don’t know what kind of problems they were havining, but it kind of freaked me out. If I could do it over for Sunday, I would.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on Section 118 row J. That was the closest I could get to the Xavier section.

We can surround them! I’m in 119 way down in row A. There are floor level seats down there so I hope it’s not too low. I should have been more patient with the tix, but that’s life. I’m in the balcony Sunday, but hoping for a chance to move. I went from the bottom to the top.

I don’t know, but I doubt it. I didn’t know where the Xavier sections were, but made the decision based on the quality and price of the seat. I’d do it differently knowing where the X folks are and focus there more, but what’s done is done. Seats were open all over the place. Some were just better deals.

I was able to get a couple of seats in the Xavier section 327 for the Friday night game on the Vivid site. However, they did not show any ALL sessions tickets available for that section, only showed them for the individual session. I’m not worried about Sunday tickets being available after teams lose on Friday there should be several people selling their Sunday tickets.

Interesting. I was not aware of this until I started going there often, but Nashville is probably THE leading location for bachelorette parties. They are all over town taking up rooms in restaurants, wandering around in their matching tee shirts and riding the peddle taverns. I guess it could be a rich environment for a bachelor party too.

Anyone have any interest in buying my 4 evening session tickets for Friday? I bought all-session packs since I am a Mizzou fan as well, but the rest of my group doesn't care if they attend the evening games. If I can get enough for them, I might sell. Section 112, 8 rows up I think. Not sure if this is allowed on this forum, so delete this post if it isn't. Good luck in the tourney.

Unwritten rule here is that as long as tickets are genuine and not gouging, you're fine. It is preferable to use the Ticket/Exchange Forum, though.

I’m not a country music fan either. To get away from it you can walk to the Gulch (only about .7 miles), which has a very different vibe.

These are the same height level as club level, but labeled 300's for some reason. I attend hockey games regularly and these are good seats. Has anyone got a where or a when for pre-game festivities? I arrived yesterday. Downtown along Broadway has a TON of loud honky tonks. The Gulch is less than a mile away and has Bar Louie’s or the Pub across the street from each other (and others more sports bar oriented) which might be more conducive. I’m open to whatever!

Yes everyone down there cheer hard for Nevada, obviously I would do this just to see UC lose but an added bonus is if they lose their fans wont stick around to cheer against us.

Only the wise xavierhoops.com souls know, not the lesser plain old Xavier fans. Shhhhhh - it’s our little secret.
In the very back what I thought was a line for the restroom turned out to be people waiting for the elevator. Upstairs is a fraction of the size of the enormous downstairs, but still plenty of indoor and outdoor room....and much easier to get a drink.
