I have a tear in my eye. I started playing in 1969 and am still playing as retired with over 50 at age 62 and some are 80!. Coached many girls teams.. Watched the Astrodome game, the Bird Magic game, the NC State Game and every other one. My daughters are in a school with a number one seed and I have many selfies with so many players. Met Q and Tyrique last year, Matt S three years ago. Humbling and I won't do a bad thing the next 2 weeks, no bikini shots from UK papers, no complaining, nothing. My life would be complete with a final 4. Carpe Diem X men and Coach Mack would do well to show them the robin Williams Carpe Diem scene on youtube. Hang on everyone, it will be gut wrenching

No Arizona so that is a positive. Will get either North Carolina or duke but not until the elite 8. Probably will have to exorcize the demon of Gonzaga in the sweet 16. We owe Duke so I would be OK with that, but probably NC.

Texas deserving ASU is not. Middle Tennessee deserves it. One bad week knocks them out ASU sucks for 2 months and makes it
Syracuse and Texas should not have made it.

I'm pissed the four seed gets to stay much closer to home. To accommodate the one seed advantage it should be Gonzaga in the Midwest and Auburn in the West

I dont know of you have watched Gonzaga but they would be favored by Vegas to beat us. It would only be 1.5 spread but it is warranted. Just a horrible match up on the perimeter and they can compete inside. I would like the chance to finally beat those fuckers but it would take a huge effort

Missouri is a non factor. Porter isn’t even close to being a huge impact. I wouldn’t even think mizzou will win first game. Then we have to play fla state and their head coach is awful. So that puts us in the sweet 16. This isn’t the same Gonzaga team as last year. They are a team that benefits from playing in an awful conference. They blew their wad last year. Honestly I think OSU beats them. Def not scared of OSU, they also got hot but have since cooled off a little. Then we get UNC/MICH . Well we all know the BIG is not great this year and UNC has 10 losses so I’ll tak my chances. Then we get the great matchup with Arizona because UC isn’t getting out of Nashville mark it down now. Zona will be tough but The Lexus cheats so I think we win that. Then we play nova for the NC. We are due to beat them. There you go!!! National Champions!! We could also, lose first game so who knows. But I love our draw!

OSU lost by 27 to Gonzaga, and Gonzaga beat Creighton by 20. That benefits from playing in an awful conference narrative isn't very good, they also beat Texas, and a Washington team that was much improved. Porter Jr wasn't amazing in his return against Georgia, but uh, he was the top overall prospect in the country, definitely something to keep in mind, how many times do the top 3 or 4 prospects not pan out in college? Means they have the ability to take over games. Yes our draw is a lot better than having Duke and Michigan State in our region, but let's not pretend it's a cake walk to the Final 4

Exactly. Gonzaga still has some really solid guards and shoots 3 well. Not as good in the paint but good guard play is what gives X troubles. As soon as Arizona was called I had a sigh of relief. Would have sucked.

Barnett is suspended and won't play in Friday's game for sure. He isn't a point guard though...more like a 2/3 hybrid that shoots the 3. I'm a mizzou fan as well and hate that this matchup might happen.
As long as Michael Porter doesn't suddenly go from about 60% healthy to 85-90%, x should handle them. Pay attention to Jontay porter though...kid is a stud in his own right (Michael's younger bro who reclassified to play with him this year) and may have played himself into the first round of the draft with his play the last couple of weeks...6'10ish lefty that can shoot the 3 ball

At this point, not sure. Losing Barnett hurts, and though you have to play porter, I think something is to be said for it affecting team chemistry coming back so late in the season. Missouri has had a strange year beating all of the top teams in the SEC except Auburn, but then losing to bottom feeders like ole miss.

In 1985, (The first year of the 64 format), Kentucky was a 12 seed. The next year they were a 1 seed. So +11 is the best change.
In 2011, BYU was a 3 seed. The very next year the slid to a 14, for a -11. That is the biggest fall.

I'd argue that UConn had an even bigger jump - they weren't in the NCAA Tournament in 1989 but ended up getting a #1 seed in 1990. That was the year they beat Clemson on a buzzer beater in the Sweet 16 before getting Laettnered in the Elite 8.

I'm fine with Gonzaga. The improvements we've made on defense come from Scruggs and Naji, and they can help lock down guards. I'm more scared of teams with a really good big. Seeing Kanter defend Purdue's big would scare me a lot more. I think teams that also defend our bigs well give us more trouble. I am a little worried at more teams zoning us after Providence's success with it.

The OOC schedule for these guys are insane . After stating 0-13 (you’ll see why ) they finished 9 straight sort of blow out wins. Not worried - but would like to put this away within first 10 minutes for my hearts sake.

I think we're getting closer to a Round 1 matchup with Mike Davis's crew.
ESPN's scores page has Texas So listed as a 1 seed, so we need to watch out!

Posted this in another thread. What is our NCAA Tourney record vs Gonzaga? Thought it might be 1-3, but a pure guess. We're getting little respect vs Gonzaga because they SLAMMED us last year. And our overall record vs the Zags is not good, like vs Nova. Let's see how they play in their 1st 2 games before we make judgement on how they might do vs XU. Heck, they might lose before playing XU.
