A long time ago, i used to do this for the A-10 tournament, where people try to predict the bracket, just like the big dance. I've been meaning to bring it back, so here it is!

To enter: Submit picks for all 9 matches, as well as your pick for the tournament's leading scorer.

Points:
First round matches: 1/2 point each
Quarter finals: 1 point each
Semi finals: 2 points each
Finals: 4 points

Leading scorer: I will rank all players choices from most points to least points. Highest scoring choice scores 5 bonus points, second highest 4 points, and so on down to 5th for 1 bonus point.

Important: Once a player has been selected 3 times you may not select him. So pay attention, and get your picks in early :)

EDIT: Have been selected 3 times: Bluiett, Bridges.

Picks are due before tip off of the first game, which is Wednesday at 7 pm.

Here's the bracket: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Big_East_Men's_Basketball_Tournament

And I'll post my picks first so I'm not influenced:

First round: SJ / Marquette
Quarters: Xavier, Providence, Nova, Butler
Semis: Xavier and Nova
Finals: Sorry, but the writing on the wall says Nova....

Scorer: I'll go with Jalen Brunson

Bourbon...you'll have to pick someone else, sorry.

Right now, 4 matches are unanimous: X into the finals, Nova into the Semis, and Marquette over De Paul.

Is the leading scorer for the whole tourney or just the champ game?

A lot of chalk here. I'll go with a little chaos and teams desperate for a bid or better seed.

First Round: Georgetown / Marquette
Quarterfinals: Xavier / Providence / Marquette / Seton Hall
Semifinals: Xavier / Seton Hall
Finals: Xavier

Scorer: Desi Rodriguez

Entire tournament points scored. Doesn't even have to appear in the champ game, if they score a lot of points in earlier rounds.

Congratulations. Not only are you the first to pick Marquette into the semi finals, but your choice of Seton Hall has actually made them the favorite now to meet X in the finals. (6 to 5 over Nova)

I imagine Marquette has to win that game to get a bid. They could do themselves the favor of the year and we would all be pulling for that outcome. I would hope the entire Big East outside of Philadelphia would be pulling for that 7th bid.

Maybe that Senior-laden Seton Hall team will wake up and realize they could move themselves up a seed line or two. He has fairly earned criticism this year, but Chris Mack Lite has won in MSG before.

Ok that is what I thought just wanted to clarify. Thanks.

Only two matches are unanimous (Marquette over Depaul, and Xavier over SJ/GTown).

Bluiett and Bridges are off the board at 3 each. JP selected twice, 4 other selected once.

And Bouborman needs to pick someone new unfortunately.

OK gang, I had to go back and re-identify my leading scorer since Bluiett was off the table. I went with Mr Gates. Yes, we've been waiting for him to reignite and when he does it's going to be fun.

If Gates is the BET leading scorer, we are definitely cutting down the nets.

After the opening round, we have a 10 way tie at 1 point, and 6 a half point back. (Sorry GTown and De Paul)

No one choose a player playing in the first round, so bonus scoring is still 0 all.

Of those at 10, 6 have Creighton to 4 for Providence; and 3 have Butler to 7 for Seton Hall. Everyone except for AmericanX took X and Nova.

Have fun today!

Sorry no updates over the weekend. Don't get much time on my laptop at home :)

First ,the bracket points. X losing in the semis didn't actually matter, since everyone had X going to the finals except for Skywalker (And he picked Creighton unfortunately).

6 People picked Nova to cut down the nets, which gave them +6 points vs where we were last time. This made the standings thus:

dethwing 11
XU95, XU Fan98, Skywalker 10
Lloyd Braun 9
XU Keith 8.5

These 6 picked Nova. Next highest score was Go Muskies with 5.5.

But wait! It's bonus points time! And this came down to the wire. Bridges had the lead, but Brunson went off for 31 in the finals, making the final points scored standings....

Brunson 69
Bridges 68
Bluiett 40 (In just 2 games)
Kanter 30
JP 18

Making the final standings....

dethwing 16
Skywalker / XU Fan 09 14
XUKeith 13.5
Lloyd Braun / XU 95 13

GoMuskies 8.5
Michigan Muskie / Chico 6
Madxster 5
Kellernr / Bourbonman (Who owes me a Bourbon) / 4
D-West & PO-Z / FellahMuskie / UCGrad4X 3.5
American X 2.5

Thank you everyone for playing. Sorry I crushed all of your asses. I would give it all away for an X win, but c'est la vie.
