Friday and Saturday are like 98% sold out. I don’t think they’re worried about making it look full. It will be full.

I understand that - but not everybody goes to all the games. Some people just watch their team play and don't go to all the sessions. For example, we have tickets to all the sessions. We will watch the sessions that Xavier is in. If they play the noon game on Thursday, I doubt we will watch the night session games that day. Our seats will be empty for those games.
Also, if a team loses, their fans (who have all session tickets) are less likely to go to the other games. They will try to unload their tickets, but they might not be able to (or are too lazy to do so).
To be sure, their are pockets of Xavier fans, but there aren't dedicated sections of Xavier fans.

This is pretty much what happens. I will buy tickets for Thursday when I know the game time (almost knew tonight - damn it Friars). 1st session is not hard to get on the broker sites. Semis and Finals are v. pricey, however. Will like try to buy from losing fans. If that doesn't work I'll buy from brokers. We're there for the experience so I don't mind paying a little more.

In what sections are the x tickets?
They use a ribbon pattern for all tickets secured through the member schools (except student sections). So you'll be sitting with some X people, but not in huge factions (until everyone moves seats).
My seats are in 223. I've already given away my Wednesday session tickets to some friends in NYC, since I don't get in until Thurs morning. I doubt I'll attend every single session, so will likely sell session tix I don't use.
Who else is in for NYC???

Remember how this Thursday arrival thing almost didn't work out for you last year.
I will be there with a huge contingency of Indianapolis/Indiana alum.
I would love to go but I had to decide between this and Maui in November and decided I would rather spend my non-Xavier game time on a beach in Maui and not in the cold in NYC.

Empty? Not a rocking event?
It’s the world’s most famous arena right in the middle of NYC. Basically every ticket for Thursday-Saturday is sold. The atmosphere will definitely deliver. Two years ago when we went, we went on Saturday even though X had lost because it was just so great to be in that building watching basketball.

My kinda thread! This won’t really help anyone here, but we stayed at the Double Tree Suites in Time Square many years ago. After the family crashed early (following a long day), I turned right out of the hotel, took my first right and had possibly the best steak dinner and beverage evening of my entire life. A warm feeling is washing over me just thinking about it....

All of them.
All of them that are not chains. I would not recommend the bar at Red Lobster, for instance. However, there was a bar next to our hotel (a Hampton Inn) when I was there in January that was quite excellent. It happens to be right across from the Times Square Red Lobster. They had Delirium Tremens on tap and a bartender who felt guilty about only filling the glasses to the recommended pour line (so he went beyond it).

Thanks. I’ve been to NYC plenty, and MSG a couple times. Maybe it’s the mixed crowds that make it seem subdued, or maybe I didn’t pay enough attention. I seriously hope to work that in next year. Cafe 31 is right across the street (on 31st - duh). It'll be jammed before each session but it's close. Finally - Niles which is in the Stewart Hotel 31st & 7th. Bar is small and nothing special but I know Pete and if you tell Pete you know Mike (Kabe) from Cincy he'll take care of you!

I was supposed to be there this year, but tore ligaments in my left hand (there goes golf for the next 2-3 months) and had surgery yesterday. It went very well (so far) , but I am essentially housebound for the next week or so. BTW the reason I tore the ligaments was that I fainted after taking my first blood pressure pill which I was prescribed after my BP spiked during a stress test (heart was fine, and my BP is normally just borderline high). Moral: when you go on BP medicine, always get up slowly at least until your body adjusts.

It's like a $50 cab. There are vans/shuttles that you can get that you split with others that will take you to Grand Central or the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Those will run you like $20. Or you can take a bus to a subway station - which is kind of a pain with luggage and it takes forever - but it's way cheaper, just a few bucks.

Cab is the only way to go from LGA. I will make fun of you if you take a bus.
From JFK you can take a cab, or take the A train - very easy and cheap ride into Midtown.
From EWR you can take NJ Transit to Newark Penn Station, then take the PATH into the City. Or you can try a cab, but traffic can be messy on weekday mornings into the City, and it's not a cheap fare.

Cab is the only way to go from LGA. I will make fun of you if you take a bus.
From JFK you can take a cab, or take the A train - very easy and cheap ride into Midtown.

Is that flaccid or erect? Asking for a friend (aka Snipe).
If it was erect then it wouldn't be on the ground, would it?

Yes, to the question above. But the secondary market tickets through ticketmaster are way cheaper.

FYI - Good seats have been released for Friday and Saturday on Ticketmaster. Grab if you're interested, they will go quick.
There is a free shuttle at LGA to the UBER/Lyft lot, less than a 5 min ride. It's marginally less than cab fare without a cab tip, but if you have credits or promos definitely cheaper. The Green Line/Lot bus. Signage was pretty good.

The real secondary market for the BE tournament is follow a guy into that bank outside for a transaction and hope you don't get ripped off.

Ticket prices dropped pretty significantly tonight. You can get in for $12 (+ fees of course so prob $50) tomorrow. I'm going to wait to buy Friday tix until tomorrow night (that is if we win which damn it we're the #3 team in the country and we had better).

The American flight out of CVG is sitting at the gate with no crew to fly it - horrible ice on highways. With about 40 Xavier-clad fans sitting here. Will be a surprise if we make it on time.

Got 4 Brooklyn IPAs in the fridge. Unfortunately I'm actually "working" for another 30 min. I hope we win cause I intend to make up for the lost pre-game festivities tomorrow evening!

Just got aboard the 12 hour Cincinnati to NYC bus. Taking the little Snipes with me.
Gonna hit the Zquill and wake up in Manhattan.. I don't have a hotel yet and I need to find three tickets.
I think this team can be the one.
My new phone doesn't have the old numbers I used to have, so I don't have the contacts I once did.
Anyone interested in Snipe updates message me your number. Also, I am still available as a life coach.

Best of luck to the Snipes, big, and mostly small. You, sir, are the ultimate adventurer, for better or worse. I’ll hold off on the life coach thing until we know if you live through this. Bring it home!

So far, so good in NYC. After reading some of the stories about travel issues, I feel very fortunate to have successfully gotten in from Cincy yesterday morning in time for tip. Tonight would be another nice win. Worth mentioning that we're so blessed to be in this Big East. Saw a Xavier win and two GREAT games at MSG. Can't take that for granted. See you clowns at The Keg Room.

For those in New York - just curious - are you going to the game tonight or did you scalp your tickets for the championship game? If you scalped them, what did you get?

Pimp and I sold ours last night. I probably could have done better, but I really just wanted to be done w the process quickly. So, I sold my four seats in 223 for $60 each. Face was $50. Whatever, got it done last night and didn't have to screw with it today.

I had extras and sold them for a very tidy profit. Planning to use my tickets (though frankly I’d be happy to sell them - my son wants to go though).

What an interesting game and atmosphere to be in as a neutral. Met many Nova fans who felt we were poised to go on a big run in the Tourney. I’m glad I went to the championship even if we weren’t in it.

The championship game atmosphere is so awesome. The four prior sessions suffer from fans coming early or late or being there but being uninvested in the game. Whereas the championship game, almost every fan is there and invested and wound up.
