No excuses this time, have to take care of business. A lot on the line against Creighton and DePaul, let's hope we come out focused and take care of business, would love to see regular season Big East Champions even if it didn't require beating Nova.

Guessing you mean the Friars but understand why you have the Jays on your mind.:jumpforjoy:

Whoops yeah, I was too excited about Creighton winning. It's Senior Night against the Friars though, and JP and Tre can go into the history books as our top duo, would love to see Tre break Sato's record with a plethora of threes as well. Looking forward to tail end of the season boys!

Is it too Dayton-esque to be giddy over the fact that our progress comes at the hands of another program's assist.

No, I think not. I think not, because this is the Big East. It isn't like we're trying to climb over the stench that secrets from the likes of the "competition" in the current version of the A10.

Two more, baby. Two more. With the first up being at home and a revenge game at that.

There will be no excuses if we don't make this happen.

Take it for what it's worth but we are not losing to Nova again unless they decide to nail 16 threes again. It's the only reason they won the second game.

It sounds petty but I bring that up for one reason. Xavier has won in two gyms Nova couldn't. When their three is off they can't fall back on much. If Xavier's three is off they have other ways to beat you. We have won Big East road games many different ways with many different leading scorers. Because of that I would say an outright Big East championship would not be questionable, but very much well earned and deserved.

If we make it to the Big East finals, it probably won't matter too much if we win or lose. Only concern is that maybe we lose Omaha to fast charging Kansas.

Agree that is definitely starting to look like a possibility. Also, I know MSU's resume is way behind the pack objectively, but I'm weary of them winning out and grabbing a 1 regardless. Obviously Duke is a huge threat too and playing very well.

At this point, the 1 seed pack has pretty much narrowed to Virginia, Nova, Xavier, Kansas, Michigan State, Duke, and I guess maybe UNC as a dark horse? Maybe I'm being liberal in knocking a few teams off of there but Purdue and Auburn both took some meh losses.

Separately, we've decided that the first weekend will either be Nashville or Detroit right? Love that those are both Fri/Sun locations.

Could still potentially be Pittsburgh too though right?

I think if X wins these last two we can concede the BET and still be a one hands down. Noone and I mean noone can tell me the regular season big East champ is not a one seed

Umm, I can...with Mich. State Kansas and Duke vying for 2 of the four 1 seeds, it's easy to see us dropping to a 2

I don't think Mich State is in the conversation nearly as much as the other two. They would need to get the right layout of conference tournament teams and then they would have to beat them in order to be in the conversation. Even then, they'd be relying on some serious stumbling from other teams.

I get it, people see them highly ranked. But they don't have many Q1 or Q2 wins and they were #11 on the S-curve after beating Purdue when the top 16 teams were announced. Auburn has a better case than them and UNC might too, plus both have good opportunities ahead of them to improve their profile.

‏@BPredict
Michigan State is #2 in the country and they win the Big Ten outright at 16-2, but the historically down Big Ten season has done horrors to their resume: just 13th in RPI, and 3-3 vs the RPI Tier 1.
Even with a Big Ten tourney title, I don't see a plausible path to a 1 seed.

@BPredict
Via KenPom, today's win over 14-17 Wisconsin is the 4th best win Michigan State has had in Big Ten play, and their 5th best win all regular season long.

@ShawnLMartin
Replying to @BPredict
They didn't play at Michigan, Purdue, Penn State, or Nebraska this year and had a single play vs OSU. They feasted on nobodies. Only 1 win over a tournament team since November.

@BPredict
Michigan State's Top 5 wins this season (via KenPom, and not adjusted for winning margin):
vs UNC (neutral court)
vs Purdue
at Maryland
at Indiana
at Wisconsin
There's just no way that's a 1 seed resume.
