I'm sure there was no problem getting our 2 frosh pumped for this rematch! Those 2 young Hoyas provided all the game film needed for Naj and Paul to play hard and send a message going forward. The Marshall/Pickett match up is especially intriguing considering how familiar they will be when all is said and done. Would like to see a good helping of Scruggs with the defense assignment on Blair, especially guarding his 3 ball...hoping our guys can make a statement tonight to even things out!!!

I would actually like to congratulate Patrick Ewing for doing more with and getting more from this edition of Georgetown than I thought he would. They are better than their record (15-10) and they have lost 7 of those 10 games by 9 or fewer points. I think his decision to play a non-conference slate of patsies may have actually worked. His team works hard and plays hard all game. They get tired at the end and if their bigs have foul trouble they are in trouble, but they are dangerous to play. I could see them making a serious run at an NIT championship. Wouldn't it be something if Villanova and X make the Final Four and St. Johns and Georgetown make the NIT Final Four?

I love trevon but Naji is our all around best player. Tre is a freak from 3 and has the leaning 10 footer but Naji is a beast on the defensive and can handle the ball and drive it to the rack. If he can get his 3pt% up we will be fine next year.

Unusual game indeed. Who would have thought that we could win by 12 with hardly any scoring from Tre? This game demonstrates the depth of our scoring threats. Congrats to the team for a hard-fought victory. Any road kill is not easy to come by in the BE.

In many respects our best defensive game of year. Pinkett on fire, govan a bund of mid range shots, dedtickson very little(thanks Kaiser who is back). Once they got cold they had no answers and we forced misses without fouling. Macurea ZERO turnovers, 7 Reb, 20 pts and a few assists? Marshall very good all around, O'Mara very good, Kanter good in winning time, Q excellent, Scruggs good. No problem with Tyrique(missed a few bunnies like Villanova and that will change) Bleuitt off for sure but to win shows we can win on an off day. Also the 100th win for Tre, JP and Sean..that is an incredible number.

Naji shoots 35% as a freshman. Is that really bad?

Tale of two halves. In the first half:

1.18 points per possession allowed (not awful but somewhat bad) vs. 1.12 points scored per possession (okay on the road)

In the second half:

0.95 points per possession allowed (very well done) vs. 1.41 points scored per possession without much help from Trevon (holy shit)

Since I was bragging to my brother at the game how it seems Q is shooting over 50% from 3 the last month and a half, I looked it up. He was 1-15 OOC, started BE play 0-4, and has been 16-30 since. Probably the greatest extended turnaround I have ever seen. He went from 5% to >50%.

It was honestly kinda rough watching him in the 2nd half. Reminded me of a scene in American Dad where the son trips and falls on the stairs and the dad laughs and says, "he's so bad with his body"...Naji is not good with his body. My brother, who doesn't watch a lot of basketball at all, kept wondering why he was in, until he hit the 3 to put X up 14. He was still astonished when I told him Naji was the leading scorer.
