How fortunate we are to be Xavier fans.

So I watched St Bonaventure knock off Rhode Island tonight and the whole time I had three thoughts.

1. Damn these two A-10 teams are going to be tough outs in the tournament.

2. Good Lord, that is a crappy venue compared to Cintas.

3. My oh my, we are so freaking fortunate: we went from "The little" MCC to the "Almost there" A-10 to the "We have arrived" Big East... to being at the top of the Big East and ranked #4 in the country... where we have been projected to be a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and where we will be playing against the 2016 national champions tomorrow - which the entire country now recognizes as a matchup between two major powers in college basketball.

It just seems to keep getting better and better. And I don't want it to stop.

If this is a dream (and it may be), I don't want to wake up anytime soon.

I agree completely. Having been under-valued by the public for so long, it's nice to see X projected as a 1 and no one try to make a case for them not deserving it. I know outside stuff doesn't ultimately matter, but I wouldn't believe any X fan if they tried to deny enjoying it.

The program has grown in leaps and bounds from where it started, instead of playing Fordham in a game we should win by 30, we get to play last placed St. Johns to a less than 10 show-down. The exposure, the quality, just everything in this league is better, and we're getting up to par and ready to knock on the fence. Xavier is a sleeping giant, and this might be the season we prove that completely.

As thankful as we should be to be in the Big East, think how thankful the BE is to get XU, Butler & Creighton. The BE could not have retained their "football school" status without adding 3 premier BBall programs. The New BE was a win-win for all.

The BE is so nice. Having a team the caliber of Seton Hall on your home floor just days before Villanova. It's a world of difference when every conference game is against a good basketball team. So much better than paying for a bunch of garbage A10 games and then having to get psyched to play a middling Dayton team as a marquis home game.

So the BE takes XU from the A10 & Butler from the Horizon & then A10. They take Creighton from the MVC. I mention this cause the BE isn't much without adding 3 of the Best Schools from "Garbage A10" Conferences. These "Garbage Schools" made this "new" BE almost as much as they made us. Guess they could have got the Best of the other "Garbage Schools" such as Wichita St, Dayton, VCU, St Louis, etc...

The point is the BEast didn't take the garbage schools. They still reside in the A10... There is no Fordham equivalent here.

That's nuts. Nova Seton Marquette Providence even Johns and Depaul are world's better than the Richmonds and Duquenses of the world. The strength in the BE is the depth. How do you not see that?
