January of 2018 marks the Tenth Anniversary of the Great Migration during the Winter of Discontent.

I am deeply grateful to Muskie and his imaginary friend, Svoboda, for having the vision and fortitude to found XavierHoops.com. A lone voice in the wilderness calling all Xavier fans to its welcoming shores.

Thank you to all the incredibly insightful, informative, enthusiastic, hilarious and excellent contributors and posters who make this the greatest place on Planet Earth (and Snipe too). Being a Xavier fan would not be the same without everyone here.

Looking forward to savoring every moment of the greatest season in Xavier basketball history (yet).

God and Saint Francis Xavier, bless you all.

I agree with this post.

Thanks to not only Muskie, but all the mods that keep the board running.
Us old guys appreciate the effort.

Might as well have a FF to celebrate the 10th anniversary.

Has it only been 10 years? It feels like this has been part of my life for so much longer than that!! All you have to do is look at anyone else's site to know that this site is among the very best ever constructed. During the recent "phishing site outage" I was lost at work without Xavierhoops. So glad it is now available again to me at work. This is the best college basketball site I have ever seen.

Definitely wouldn't be the same being a XU hoops fan if this site wasn't around. Thanks to all who keep it running and reasonably civil!

Ditto, likewise and +1 to all of these. I have not returned to that world of naysayers that shall remain nameless - since.

Like the basketball program itself, we have evolved into a premier site for discussion, debate, speculation and, most of all, support of Musketeer Basketball.

(and some fun as well - and not always the good clean type...but mostly)

XavierHoops has been a welcome alternative to the moribund and uninteresting Musketeer Madness board. Thanks to everyone who helped get this board up and running.

Most importantly, we've had a great new wave of posters in the past 10 years that signed on that probably have no clue of Musketeer Madness. This is definitely a more laissez-faire environment for posters than it is over there.

I’ve never been over there. In fact, I was not even aware it was still active!

Thank you to everyone who makes this place happen!

Hey, I felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go
I cursed the gloom that set upon us, 'pon us, 'pon us, 'pon us
But I know that I love you so

Having said that, I feel a little left out because I don't recognize myself among your description of contributors and posters. Despite that obvious oversight, happy anniversary to all responsible for this glorious creation.

Faint praise I will not. College basketball and Xavier basketball are much better for me with this site. Thanks Muskie, mods, and all who contribute, so we defray the bills and put a little capital in Muskies pocket. Seriously, keep the guy motivated. Imagine the chunk of time in ten years -- just keep us addicted with a potential 24/7 news and speculation mill.

It's been great to be a Muskie.

Well I must be the exclusive minority as I, unlike most on this board, love everything which pertains to this great institution. Whether it is Xavier Hoops, Banners, Dana and Victory, Musketeer Madness, Holy Land of Hoops or the seldom visited From Staak to Mack. I don't get caught up in the political bs or whether someone's liking for a particular Kennedy led to his banishment or his imminent passing let to not one person on this board saying "Well, so and so died of cancer so screw him". My love for this school and everything that encompasses this program goes deeper than what someone may opine because I visit other sites not named Xavier Hoops. I have deep respect for others, like myself, who visit the Musketeer Madness site. I am eternally indebted to those like MOR, Gladden Guy, BleedXBlue and others whose comments I find completely fulfilling and insightful. Reading this thread makes me feel like going to Musketeer Madness is like cheating on your wife.

This site is way better than MM.
I am biased as I was banned last year by administrators last year(Muskieman, Ed?)

This site has much more people and up to date content.

10 years. Crazy. Funny to think where I was in life 10 yeas ago when I joined. This site was a great source of distraction when I needed to shut my mind off during study breaks back then. This site and how it is constructed in so much better than any message board I have ever visited. Thanks to all who keep it up and running.

There have been multiple Message Boards over the years. The old VOY Board, Musketeer Roundtable, Musketeer Madness etc., but this is the best and most “professional” board. Amazing a Lawyer could develop and administer this. (Just kidding Muskie) . This is great and a job well done!!

Great that you are able keep up such a devotion and positive attitude about the various "institutions" associated with Xavier and their men's basketball program. I applaud your loyalty and commitment.

The truth is, I spend far too much time on this board than the time I have should realistically and responsibly permit (I am looking into 12 step programs). I don't have the time to visit and potentially get sucked into any other site, especially if it might be a black hole with little chance of escape. If I have a limited amount of time, and congratulations to all those who find themselves with enough time (or not if it is not by your own choice) to 'spread it around', I might as well spend it on the best.
