Chris Mack All Time Winningest Coach

With the Victory last night, Chris Mack stands alone at the top of the Xavier Win's Mountain. I know Coach Mack hasn't wanted this to be a big deal. But last night's achievement deserves some recognition.

9 Seasons and 203 wins is quite impressive.

Leaving the floor last night, Allie LaForce asked him how it felt to be the all time leader at X.

He said that it was embarrassing, and gave props to all the coaches that came before him.

Actually I think Mack gets a little embarrassed when the media focuses on him, for whatever reason.
He seemed that way when she asked him about the milestone.

I was referring to Pete Gillen leaving early. So in that sense, my excuse is that Xavier never was remotely interested in hiring me in any capacity (I respect them for that!) and certainly not to be men's basketball coach.

It's really cool to see how far the program has come during Mack's tenure. When he first took the job, who would have thought that he'd one day shake hands at the end of a game with Chris Mullin following a conference game against St. John's to become the all-time winningest coach at X.

Mack deserves all the credit, he came in and really helped this program grow from the stones that were set by coaching legends in the past. Mack helped us transition into the Big East, and thrive while in the Big East, incredibly proud to have him as our head coach, and I'm hoping he stays here a while and makes that record unbreakable.

My two cents on Mack. I had my doubts the first few years, but he's really grown into a very good coach (sans @ Villanova).

I think he's an incredible representative for Xavier University. He's a family guy, a hometown guy and I think he genuinely enjoys running and leading this program.

I hope he stays another 15-20 years.

Now, pay the man. Pay him what he deserves and give him a reason to not even consider other offers.

He should be north of 2 MM/YR minimum. Closer to 2.5. Find a way, figure it out.

What could be embarrassing is no coach stays long enough to get a lot of Wins. 203 is good & Mack is a MUCH BETTER Coach than Mick Cronin, who has 250 plus wins at UC. And Huggins had 393. Quite a few coaches have had 500 or more wins at one school. Would love to see Mack reach that milestone at XU.
