First, really, really impressed with Coach Mack for agreeing to this series. It's nearly impossible for us to get good opponents on our home floor. You guys have been there in the not too distant past where nobody wants to play you!

Tough date for us with students gone and Christmas weekend but looks like we'll have a sellout afterall. We play in a small but modern arena that seats about 7000 by the time you add in the suites and beer patio. Built with basketball in mind, the fans are right on top of the floor and the building does get loud, simply becuase the design doesn't give the sound anywhere to go.

This game comes down to tempo. We play slow, really slow (349 in tempo per KenPom) and we try to limit possessions and grind out Ws on the defensive end. North Carolina is the only team that that has been able to speed us up this year and that was the first game of the year. I expect a game in the 60s and if either team hits 70, they've got a pretty good shot to win.

Again, thanks to you guys and Coach Mack for coming to Cedar Falls and we wish you guys nothing but continued success (after Friday, of course)...

Hey, welcome!! Appreciate the little bit of insight there, seems like it would be a cool place to catch a game, 7k could cause some ruckus the way you've described it. Honestly not surprised Mack was okay with heading out there, we usually have a pretty good schedule, and we've travelled to Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. part of the Gavitt Games, and to Baylor last year, gets the guys battle tested.

Our big problem will be the health of 2 of our starters (Gates and Macura), and a key contributor in Marshall, without them, we'll be missing a good chunk of our scoring, meaning we'll have to rely on our bigs way more, especially if Blueitt has another off game. Hopefully we can find a way to push the tempo a little bit, and make you guys uncomfortable. The biggest asset we have is that we have multiple scorers on the team that can contribute to a big night, and then the silent assassin Trevon Blueitt down the stretch.

Excited to watch this one Friday night, it's gonna be wonderful relaxing with family in, cracking a brew and watching some good basketball!

You talk about Lohaus being consistent...after three games. I know you probably referring to past experience. I guess you could say he was consistent for the first eight game is his (lack of) contribution.

Dont get into foul calls. That is petty. I can't recall one play where I thought that was a foul. Dont blame lack of fouls called on them when it is actually a result of Xavier sloppy play. I have full faith Mack whips them in shape and we not only win but cover. This is a game where UNI keeps close but in the end outright talent wins out

The crowd was loud at times, but nowhere near the vitriol you'd see from a Wisconsin, UC or Butler fanbase. I was surprised to see Naji pull the Mortal Kombat Fatality, but definitely left with a devilish grin afterwards.

At least the guys get to take a short Christmas break on a high note. Mack on his postgame presser didn't seem too thrilled that they had to play on the 27th b/c of the Big East TV schedule, but was definitely happy with how the team finished this one out.

They were trying to eek out every second, every point they can get to try to get back in/win the game. What's more classless- a team that's been trailing basically the entire 2nd half exploiting the rules to try to steal a win or a teenager saying, "I've had enough of this," and dunking a ball? Until they start calling these late game fouls intentional (which they very clearly are), I will support every waning seconds dunk I see from the winning team.

Also, don't tell me UNI wasn't about to put up a shot had the ball not been stolen. "The outcome was decided, it's classless to dunk." Well if the game is over, why didn't your kid dribble it out? I am very sure X wouldn't even pressure the ball had UNI not displayed some sense of urgency.

Agree 100%! He’s so solid. Great feel for the game, makes good decisions, and seems to calm the team when things are tight.

With how the game sluggishly started, I wanted Kanter in there ASAP because of all he can do. Great addition to the team!

That drive was impressive. He had the wherewithal to attack as opposed to shoot the long ball (although, that wouldn’t be a terrible option for him).

I’ll repeat this because I don’t think it can be said enough. Just fun watching this team. A solid distributor. Shooting. Front court depth. Moxie.
