Wow.....is this going to be reality going forward? If so, there is no defending us. What an amazing back to back performance. I was hoping he could give us close to Gaston numbers, but this kinda production is almost hard to believe. Can you say BE 6th man of the year? My family appeared concerned as I spontaneously broke out in laughter all evening.....:yahoo:

Gotta wait and see what he does against some GOOD compition......and yes, that is a shot at UC’s bigs. :dizzy:

But seriously folks, Kanter has become a very very pleasant surprise. The 3-headed monster of Tysomter can really play
some ball.

I’ve also noticed that there are more occasions where they are using 2 of the 3 on the floor at the same time, and along with Gates it gives them a very solid frontline rotation. Especially with the ability of Kanter and Gates to step out and hit 3point shots it takes away the other teams ability to double team the post.

I mean to be fair, Kerem is the king of garbage time production. I feel like he scored about 16 of his 20 in the last 5 minutes. That being said, he's been much better than I expected on both sides of the ball so far. If he can continue to progress in his team defense and see a few more threes fall, he adds so much to this team.

he actually has a decent handle, which is one thing I wasn't expecting from him. Very pleased with the bigs (especially the FT shooting). I feel better about our bigs going to the line than I do our point guards.

Crafty enough footwork to get himself into scoring positions, obviously we want to see how that plays out in the Big East and over the course of the season, but incredibly surprised, and happy for now. Especially if he can knock down the 3s too, our front court has improved with his addition.

One thing I think is really refreshing is how well all three of them finish. There have been years where our guards have broken down defenses and dumped off passes to a big only to have them miss point-blank layups or fumble away the pass. All three have done a really good job finishing this year and taking advantage of those plays. That's a big reason our shooting percentage is so high.

This guy is gold to have him in reserve. Most teams would love to have him coming off the bench like X does. Another great decision by the coaching staff to attract him to X.

My Gawd people. No posts on this thread for over a month? A month in which this guy Kerem has become, arguably, Xavier's most valuable player? No one posts on here after last night's performance?

The dude is our Swiss Army Knife. Scores, shoots outside well, rebounds, boxes out, plays good positional defense, passes well, makes teammates better. What the hell more do you want?

Look, I love what both Sean and Tyrique bring to the table, but Kerem adds a huge extra dimension and has earned his starting spot.

All hail the Turkish Prince!!!!

He has FAR exceeded expectations. The UWGB coach should have been playing him 40 minutes a game. Even exhausted he had to be superior to pretty much everyone in the Horizon.

He reminds me of Stainbrook to the extent that he's not athletic, but he has great basketball skills. (And he can shoot threes.)

Big Smooth. The dude is just smooth. I didn't think he was going to be this good. I'll be the first to admit it. That is why Coach Mack is Xavier's all time winningest coach and I'm just a die hard.

He won't be giving back any minutes to Tyrique any time soon, as he has gone AWOL. O'Mara was not a good matchup against St. John's but Kanter continues to find a way.

Kanter's improvement reminds me of 3 former players improvements. 1. James Farr 2. Jason Love 3. Kenyon Martin. Hopefully he not only sustains this level but improves even more as the season goes on. One possible detriment is that O'Mara doesn't improve during this & that Jones actually slides backwards. Hopeful all the bigs can improve.

Who’s this guy Kenyon Martin and when he play for Xavier?
I do remember a flexing jerk whose allegedly “#1” team LOST to Xavier one year then never won anything of significance. I think his name was K Mart- like the failing store.

I have been watching body language and everyone is cool as far as I can see. O'Mara seems to be happy when Kanter comes to bench and so does Jones who has 2 more years anyway. They will ALL be needed at some time starting at Seton Hall and I am sure they would like another shot at Villanova. It is a matchup world these days and Kanter is the most versatile. I am sure Mack is up to the challenge

He also has no problem putting the ball on the floor to start the fast break which is unusual for his size and is smart enough to not dribble into the defense and get stripped. His pace never gets too fast for the situation.

Considering his brother's comments about the Turkish government and their desire to throw him in jail, this may not be the best idea.

Xavier Nation Magazine Feature on Kerem Kanter (http://goxavier.com/news/2017/12/19/featured-xavier-nation-magazine-feature-young-turk.aspx)

At 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds, Kerem Kanter is grand in stature but gentle in speech. On a summer day in a Cintas Center office he responds to questions with smiles and short sentences, speaking so softly that at times he's difficult to hear. He's different than other Xavier newcomers. Turkish-born Kanter is a student of the world, the son of a doctor and a former nurse, the brother of NBA star Enes Kanter, an Under-18 Turkish National Team gold medalist.

The things he does not say about himself—like scoring a perfect 800 on the math portion of the SAT, or the close relationship he has with Enes—make him even more intriguing.

It's worth leaning in when the 22-year-old forward, who began his career at Wisconsin-Green Bay, has something to say.

Kerem Kanter put Butler in a Turkish Prison.

Reflecting on Kanter's incredible game at Butler and the mystery of how he is producing at a high level as opposed to his Green Bay days. First, the bulk of credit must go to Kerem himself for elevating his game. But, second, it is not really mystery when you consider he was finally put into the hands of great coaches. We must also give credit to Chris Mack, Luke Murray & Co. for maximizing the ability of their players and putting them into positions to succeed.

Kerem Kanter may really be the X factor that helps push Xavier to unprecedented levels.

Not sure who else was after KK for this season, but he sounds so intelligent & studious that XU was a natural fit for his Academic Abilities. More likely, he thought he might play deep in the NCAA & could compete well with SOM & Jones.

Not gonna lie, I thought Kanter would be like the 8th or 9th option. I wasn't impressed at all with the pick-up initially.

He has been a hell of a lot more than just a pleasant surprise.

His cool, calm, collected manner, and his post moves are crazy good.

One announcer (can't remember who) said Karem "puts you to sleep", and that's totally correct. He just slowly backs you down, then *quick spin move*, you got scored on.

It's insane how well he does it.

It's almost as if he has a bigger/better older brother and when he was growing up he had to figure out crafty ways to score on him.

Wait..........
