Here is how Xavier's schedule strength breaks down using the Sports Illustrated 1-351 ranking.
1-50 (15): non-conference (3 - UC, Baylor, Wisconsin), Big East (12 - Villanova, Seton Hall, Butler, Creighton, Providence, Marquette)
51-100 (3): non-conference (1 - Kansas State or Arizona State), Big East (2 - St. John's)
101-150 (7): non-conference (3 - Colorado, East Tennessee State, Northern Iowa), Big East (4 - DePaul, Georgetown)
151-200 (2): non-conference (2 - George Washington, Kent State)
201-250 (3): non-conference (3 - Rider, Hampton, Marshall)
251-300 (1): non-conference (1 - Morehead State...#278)
Bottom line: 18 of 31 games are with top 100 teams, 25 of 31 games are with top 150 teams, and only 4 games are with teams outside the top 200 teams. Thank you Big East!!!

15 potential top 50 games. I love the Big East.

I'm also happy that our first game is against our worst opponent. I just want to enjoy the new season and checking out the new players in a low stress situation.

Mario “Miracle” Mercurio does it again! #Masterful

This may be declaring myself as a wimp, but my annual trip up is always early in the schedule, when our chances of cruising to victory are much better. It’s just more fun to win. I know, I’m a Bills fan, too.

Don't be surprised to see Marshall bump up a bit too, they were on the verge of a C-USA title last year, and D'Antoni gives them a green light from anywhere. Pretty damn happy with this schedule, we have a chance to put together a great resume come tournament time.

Same thing using Kenpom looks similar, but a few differences:
1-50 (15 or 16): non-conference (3 or 4 - UC, Baylor, Wisconsin, maybe Kansas St.), Big East (12 - Villanova, Seton Hall, Butler, Creighton, Providence, Marquette)
51-100 (5 or 6): non-conference (1 or 2 - Colorado, maybe Arizona State), Big East (4 - St. John's, Georgetown)
101-150 (5): non-conference (3 - East Tennessee State, Northern Iowa, George Washington), Big East (2 - DePaul)
151-200 (2): non-conference (2 - Kent State, Marshall)
201-250 (0)
251-351 (3): non-conference (3 - Rider, Morehead State, Hampton...#309)
Of note: St. John's is currently projected at #51 in Kenpom, so if they overachieve, we could end up with 18 top 50 games. 6 of those are in the top 25.
Also, there is a big difference in Kenpom between Kansas State and Arizona State. KSt is #39, while AzSt is #100. So the winner of that game could have a big impact on our SoS.

Hmm I'll be home for the December 19th game against Marshall, I've never attended as an alumni, how much do you think tickets would run??

For you??? Ten grand.
I usually go thru Stubhub and they’re not bad, especially for early season. I get good seats since I generally only get one game. Marshall should be cheap. This year my buddy bought a package of tix, so I may just pick one of those.

Yeah, I was thinking of hopefully finding something in the lower bowl!! I'll check StubHub out closer to the date, I miss the atmosphere of Cintas, and I miss having a good ole' beer at Dana's after games.
