Wow, is this the most talented X team ever? Easy to argue that is affirmative barring injury. Considering there are 200 minutes in regulation, and knowing JP and Tre will easily consume 70 on average, the other 130 will be divied up amongst 7/8 others. Can/should anyone else average 30? Q probably has the best shot but what about Gates or Ty. I know it is not necessary but I'm thinking IF either can get there, this is going to be something really special....:loco:

I'd be shocked if anyone besides JP and Tre are at 30+ minutes. Too much depth and talent at all positions.

I think that by mid-January, Mack will have a 7 man rotation of playing 30+ minutes with that 8th guy coming in to spell 1 or 2 players depending on circumstances.
It will be similar to last year. Hope 3 frosh really surprise me but we shall see.

I think it'll be much more similar to two years ago where we still have a 9-10 man rotation throughout the entire season. JP, Tre, Q, Sean, Kaiser, Tyrique, Scruggs, and Naji are going to play every game. I'd be surprised if Kanter also didn't play every game. Only real question mark for me is Elias.

Yeah, speculation on this is interesting stuff. Of course most depends on the 4 newcomers production. When was the last time 3 X frosh contributed significant minutes? Scruggs will most certainly factor in the mix at the 1/2, BUT is it even practical to expect to be injury-free? Is a Hardin redshirt possible? I am most curious about the "4"....Going with KG becoming a big time player and thus getting big time minutes. Predicting he'll produce around 14/6.

But then again my hoping he will finally blossom could be completely void of reality!! If he can just focus on his rebounding the points will come. Has to start getting 3 or 4 "2's" per game, along with improved propensity to get to the charity stripe. He just can't continue to be a stranger in the paint. Too much size for so much finesse.

I'd be really surprised if Kaiser averages more than 10 a game. Happy, but surprised. I think Tre and JP average about 33 a game and then you get about 5-9 ppg from the next 6 guys. It wouldn't surprise me at all if JP and Tre were our only double digit scorers.
Harden won't redshirt. With a rotation of only 10, he'll see minutes, especially in blow outs. We need him to get experience with such a slim roster returning in 18-19. Hoping we can get huge leads in some of these nonconference games and get him 12-15 minutes in some of those games.

I guess lineups will play a big role in that. Do we expect to see any scenarios where we play two of Ty/Sean/Kanter at the same time? I know we had to occasionally play two bigs in the past, but with Tre at the 4 along with Gates, will we see much of that this year? Given our relative depth at the 4/5, is it possible we see Tre at the 3 some, even though he gives us probably our best mismatch for opposing defenses when he plays the 4?
This team has a lot of talent, I can't wait to start this season.

He averaged 21 per game last year. Had 24 minutes vs MD, 30 vs FSU, 19 vs AZ and 23 vs the Zags. Mack seems to believe the injury affected him all yr. until March. I think he'll get 25 a game this year if healthy. Think we get the total "package" this year.

I meant 10+ points not minutes. Was responding to the post saying he'd average 14/6.

Well I am coming out of the closet with a man-crush for Kaiser and I don't care who knows it! When his head is right he plays with a cool swag.....the time is now and there will be NO EXCUSES for him barring injury.

Man, I need to get back into the swing of the basketball season. I thought this thread was going to be about cars. I was like, “ya, there’s a ton of cars that average 30 miles per gallon nowadays. What a stupid question.” But it turns out I’m the idiot.

No way Tre and JP average 35 minutes each. Too many blowouts in non conf games and some Big East games (could be losses also). Foul trouble also. Someone suggested 33 mpg which is more realistic.

lol (I hate that expression) I thought the same thing when I first saw it. But, even a doctoral degree from UC can only get you so far.
