This is big. The two teams haven't played since Mizzou left for the SEC after the 2011-2012 season. I expect this to be sold out and absolutely raucous. Rivalry aside, KU will be good as usual and Mizzou has high hopes with Michael Porter Jr. I'm hoping to make it. We will see how many tickets are available after the season ticket holders get their hands on them. It'll end up being close to $100 for 2 uppers after fees, but it'll be worth it.

"Kansas and Missouri announced Friday that the Tigers and Jayhawks will play an exhibition men’s basketball game on Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. Proceeds from the game will go to hurricane relief efforts. KU coach Bill Self, speaking at his basketball team’s media day Friday in Lawrence, said the hope is to raise more than $1 million."

"According to releases from both schools, KU and MU will split the roughly 18,000 seats in the Sprint Center."

"Ticket prices are: $200 courtside, $120 for lower-level sides, $75 for lower-level ends, $40 for upper level and $20 for students (upper-level seats)."

"Proceeds will be donated to the organizations that the five living former U.S. Presidents have come together to support: the Houston Harvey Relief Fund, the Rebuild Texas Fund, the Florida Disaster Fund, Juntos y Unidos Por Puerto Rico and the Fund for the U.S. Virgin Islands."

Cool idea....but then why not just play a regular season game against each other?

Right, exhibition games don't really mean much other than a way to test some things out, and see how pieces fit. Why not make it count, especially since Missouri is getting better?

I thought games like this in exhibition were only the sort where fans couldn't watch?

They had to apply to the NCAA for an exemption to play it.

Hopefully this signifies a cooling of emotions and kansas will decide to resume the border war in football and basketball.

Looks like I'm out of luck unless I want to pay a ridiculous price on the secondary market. The game is officially sold out. Tickets never even made it to the general public. Both schools sold their allotments to donors and students.

89-83 KU with 20 seconds to go. Looks like the Jayhawks will pull out a relatively close win.

KU held on for a 93-87 win. Pretty insane numbers for an exhibition game. !8,000+ in the arena...18,000+ PPV streams bought...nearly $2 million raised for charity. Well done all around! And honestly the level of play was better than I expected for mid October.

Self was quoted by ESPN very negative about resuming the series. "We'll do what's right for Kansas, and not what's right for Missouri or Missouri fans ".

I do not understand the bad blood. Who's got the skinny?

He used basically the same quote verbatim when talking about a potential series with Wichita State.

During the whole realignment fiasco it appeared that the Big XII was going to fall apart and leave kansas without a home. The kansas AD blamed Mizzou's departure to the SEC as the event that caused all of the uncertainty about the future of Big XII and swore off playing Mizzou in any sport.

I feel like you could take the reasons why xavier doesn’t play Dayton anymore and apply it to the KU/MU situation. It’s nit exactly the same, but as someone who has a dog in both fights, there definitely are some similarities.
