The night Boeheim signed his extension, Adam Zagoria reported the extension was through the 2021-22 season (https://twitter.com/AdamZagoria/status/843637342015537153), but the report was denied by SU spokesman Pete Moore, who said via email it was “Not true.”
However, Boeheim saying he’ll be coaching five or six more years coincides with his youngest son, Buddy, and his future college career.
