The problem is we have no clue what constitutes expenses. I mean, we're dropping over 5mil just this off season on Cintas, let alone scholarships, salaries, and private jets. I think it's more of an accounting thing than anything else. That being said, we are at the bottom of the Big East in almost every financial measure not named profitability.

Yes. And SJU is in the same boat between using MSG and their place on campus. The main point is that most of our colleagues use off campus arenas and have to pay for them, with a number of them using them for 100% of their home schedules.

Actually, even with the renovation, Nova probably still goes downtown for their bigger games. In fact, I believe the renovation makes the place obviously nicer, but takes out some seating doing so.

It's not so much a perk as it is a control tactic. Most FBS football teams do this. Coaches can control what they eat, when they have to be in their rooms, assure that no one other than the players are in the rooms, and can have all the lights turned off at 11pm. In some cases there is a guard right next to the elevator of the floor the team is staying on just to tell anyone that tries to get off the elevator that this is not their floor. Not only that, for home games some teams charter a bus and go to a hotel that's an hour away for a home game just to get them COMPLETELY removed from the campus. I personally think it's ludicrous and wasteful, but I understand why coaches want to do it. It's not nearly as common in basketball, but some teams do do it. I was not aware that Georgetown typically did. They haven't been very good, so it hasn't been working, BTW.

I don't see it that way at all. Maybe extravagant, but I see benefits too. Who said they don't go to class? I see the benefit of being highly focused (and maybe pampered from a recruiting perspective), but it's not a big deal unless they hit the mini-bar, then all bets are off!.

Not sure what their rent is on the Pru Center since they curtain off the top deck. They play their entire home schedule (Non Conference & Conference) at Pru Center with the exception of 1 game played at Walsh on campus.

I would guess that their rent at the Pru Center is market rate rent, whatever that is, and that the decision to curtain off a portion of it belongs to SHU. In other words, no discount.
