What, exactly, is the point of this poll?

Not a single top ten. Embarrassing. :)

I like it. It's the most important poll to me - I'd rather be in this poll than the preseason poll.

Can you still sneak up on people from #18?

Ahead of Butler and Cincinnati...I'll take it. :-)

Maybe this is a completely stupid thing to say, but I feel like a team that makes it to the Elite 8 should be at least top 15...

Not only that, but we lost to the national runner-up. Therefore, I think we can rightfully claim sixth best team. I'll prepare a... uh... Super Six banner to be hung alongside the Final Five banner from 2004.

After beating a 6, 3 and 2 (as an 11) I'd say top 10.

Top ten? I wouldn't think an unranked team beating the three teams we did in a row in the regular season would justify shooting up to a top ten ranking.

Maybe not, but the last poll seems to be heavily weighed to tournament performance
South Carolina went from unranked (with one vote) to #6.

And to some degree the seed, it appears (in our case).

Seeing that Xavier got beat from multiple teams on that list and are still considered amongst them, I'd say it's a pretty good result. Once you get past the top 3 to 5 teams, the rest of the top 25 is all fairly competitive.
I agree that being on this list is way better than in the preseason. I wonder how much recruits are looking at this now?
