It's honestly criminal that Dudley only shot 88 if he was shooting them at that clip in college.
Right? I'm sure they would have been capable of getting him more good 3-point attempts if they prioritized them.

That would strike me as naive on Tre's part. You may be right, but I would be surprised if that was the case.
He could have gotten even a second round guarantee and told not to do anymore workouts. This happens, my co-worker's nephew is in the draft process right now and may/may not get picked in the second round.

Whole team was really clicking in March last year, but you could really tell once they got in the tournament Tre and JP were on another level together and knew they had to lead it. Remember saying after the Zaga game it was gonna be sad not to see them play together again. Now X's arguably best recruiting class (at the time) gets to lead as seniors as the new best in school history comes in. Really something special for the program

Salivating at the thought of Q and Scruggs collapsing the defense and kicking it out to Tre and JP. Kaiser and Marshall will offer huge flexibility off the bench. No idea who will start between Tyrique and O'Mara, have to imagine Mack will ride the hot hand like he did last season with Kanter also in the mix. Haven't even touched on a bucket getter in Harden or a sharpshooting Ridder. Wow.
Edit: I really can't wait to see the leap Q makes. If he starts getting those layups to go down he is going to really open things up. Not to mention his defensive potential.

I would love to start out games trying to work the ball inside with some post men. We don't have to stay in the lineup a majority of the time. Also puts three four year seniors on the court at the tip.
We have some talent, so I expect Mack to have a number of lineups.
Give me a lineup when we want to go small.

Not really...this is Tre's team. I think he realized late last year that he WANTS the ball in his hands in crunch time. Multiple offensive weapons around him AND a guy that can be an assassin at crunch time. That's ideal.

Rick and Snow have known plenty of things before they were announced - namely Paul Scruggs coming to Xavier - that they aren't ever going to announce themselves. They'd lose credibility with recruits and their Xavier sources.

Completely agree. Ed was an incredible play maker and scorer but Q and Scruggs are more in the traditional PG mold. These guys both have elite level court awareness and assisting abilities which I think will result in a smoother offensive flow than when Ed was running the team. it's pretty simple. If Tre can become more consistent and turn himself from a great shooter into an elite shooter - he has a chance. 37% isn't going to blow anybody away. If he can get that into the 40-45% range, he has a shot. 1st round? I doubt it. 2nd round? Sure.
Teams know what Tre is at this point. If a team is going to use a draft pick on a guy that they value as a shooter, he better be an elite one. Here are some "senior shooters" who got drafted mainly because to their shooting potential.

I'd be curious to know how many of Tre's 3's were assisted, and how many were off the dribble. The more of the former he gets (and I'm guessing its quite a few), the higher % he's going to shoot.
For example, Tu's 3P% was suppressed due to the number of 3's he took off the dribble, making him look like a "worse" skilled shooter than he actually was.

True, but I also would assume that scouts that come to games would factor this into their report when giving it to their organization, and if not that's just silly. Tre definitely shoots a ton off the dribble, but he's very crafty in creating his shot like that so it works for him.

Rothstein Files | Trevon Bluiett in line to be next year’s Josh Hart (https://www.fanragsports.com/cbb/rothstein-files-trevon-bluiett-line-next-years-josh-hart/amp/)
Twelve months ago Hart opted to return to Villanova instead of leaving school early for the NBA Draft. Now Bluiett is doing the exact same thing for Xavier.
Like Hart, Bluiett is expected to be the Big East Preseason Player of the Year entering next season, returning to a team that has several key pieces back from last season’s squad that reached the Elite Eight and lost to Gonzaga.
The 6-6 wing averaged 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds last season as a junior, all while making 91 shots from long distance. Bluiett also scored 25 points in the Musketeers’ Sweet 16 upset of Arizona.
It will be interesting to see if Chris Mack uses the Indianapolis native as a skilled four-man rather than a traditional small forward, given Bluiett’s ability to create mismatches on offense.
If he mans the “four,” Xavier will need another perimeter player, potentially either Paul Scruggs or Naji Marshall (both top-100 freshmen) to be consistent enough to earn regular minutes alongside veterans Quentin Goodin and J.P. Macura.

Those lists are always hard to make, especially because 5-20 could be argued back and forth all day.
But having Kelan Martin over Trevon at this point is mind blowing to me. Kelan has shown he can be great.. but he also been benched numerous times. I don't think consistently he's been close to Tre. And not to mention the performance Tre put on in March, including a game winner over Butler.
I've thought about the Josh Hart comparison before when coming back. Think Tre could be that for X. He'll be the leader from Day 1 along with JP. Was really cool to see him embrace that role after Ed went down and want the ball down the stretch. That experience is going to be huge heading into a senior year

Martin over Bluiett and Delgado is absolutely stupid. Along with Grayson being #1. (I certainly don't think Grayson is a bad player, but best in the nation? Child please. ESPN definitely click baiting with that pick.)

I dont think Grayson at #1 is an indefensible pick. He's probably one of 5-6 players who have an argument to be there. He had a bad year in 2016 but a lot of that was attributable to being forced to play the point. Now that Duke has a pure PG he should get closer to his 2015 numbers which were as good as anyone in the nation.
I definitely wouldnt put Shamet, Duval, Martin, or any freshman over TB though. Bluiett willed his team to an elite 8 last season, putting freshman above him is totally discounting the experience that comes with 3 years of college play.

Shamet's a stud....but so is everyone on the list. I think it's pretty difficult to differentiate most of the guys on the list after the first 5 or so. They're all damn good.

I don't know. Does Trevon even have the talent to play at the big east level?
