UC would absolutely take him. You think they're just pursuing him for fun?

Bragg's defense is his liability, UC doesn't play guys that don't play good defense. It makes no sense to me, though he might look better against the bottom feeders of the AAC.

Im sure Mick thinks he could teach a 5 star athlete defense in his year sitting out.

Bill Self couldn't.

Yep. They also took Jarrod Cumberland, who everyone knew sucked at defense even at the high school level. Also, if you can teach a bad defender to play well within the system, you can hide him around good defenders. Xavier in 2009, for example, had the 13th most efficient defense in the country, despite B.J. Raymond playing the most minutes on the team and Kenny Frease and Brad Redford being bad defenders off the bench

Looks like we are out of the Bragg race.

yep. Rothstein tweeted earlier that both Xavier and NC State are out of the running for Bragg

Wasn't Kyle Washington a poor defender? Not that I watched much of their games, I think I've heard a few UC fans say that.

Yeah he is a liability on that end at times. But when he was playing consistently, gave UC's offense another dimension. Mick has softened his stance a bit. Hasn't really hurt their defensive efficiency because of what 09 points out above.

On balance Washington helped more than he hurt UC.

UC just picked up a 6'9" SF who decommitted from UW. They are getting some height throughout.

McKinley Wright asked out of his LOI from Dayton.

Flyer fans will have to come to Cintas this year to see their former PG recruit. He committed to the Buffaloes. I think Swampy is practicing in his basement, as The Flyers have zero Pg's on the roster at this point.

You beat me to it. He still has issues, by incorrectly, referring to the school calling them Colorado University. When he de committed from ud he referred to them as Dayton University.

With Colorado it's understandable given that they go by "CU".

He will be the only decent guy over 6'8 on that team. Playing time won't be a problem. With ASU's rep. of being a party campus, I can't imagine his off court antics diminish.

He chose the #1 rated college girls in America. Smart move.

They'll have Zylan Cheatham but your point remains.

Ed Morrow just committed to Marquette as I was typing that.

Looks like we'll be banking that extra scholarship at this point. Totally fine with me since we're in on a bunch of really talented players for the 2018 class.

By receiving a release, Austin is able to transfer to any university of his choice for the remainder of his collegiate career. He will have to sit out the 2016-17 season before he regains his NCAA eligibility if he decides to leave Boise State.

That should be a no-brainer.

I have no inside info here, but I find it hard to believe we would recruit another point guard. Especially one that struggles from outside like Austin does.

At least until Dosunmu makes his decision I just can't see them taking another point with Q and Scruggs already on the roster.

These are my thoughts. Definitely a hard pass here. Rather shoot for the stars with Dosunmu and not get anything than take this guy. Especially when we'll already have Q Scruggs and Naji who can handle the ball if needed.

A point guard that averages 2.8 assists per game?? That's actually miserable.

Not really, but it's not great either.

Agreed. No way you want to clog up the depth chart with Q and Scruggs coming through the next few years plus the potential of a 2018 PG or combo.

for college, you are definitely overshooting. The leader in assists per game in the country usually averages anywhere from around 7-9 apg.
If you average 6 apg you are almost definitely in the top 20 in the country. 5 apg isn't elite for college, but is very good, and probably puts you somewhere in the top 50 when it comes to apg

Ahhh okay, I guess I wasn't paying much attention. The more you know.
