I trust everyone is planning for Thursday. If you have off Good Friday, beware a possible caveat in calling in sick Thursday. If you call in sick on a day adjacent to a holiday, many companies will pay you for the sick day, but not the holiday. Tread lightly in your determination to watch Xavier.

I have had a doctor's appointment scheduled for Thursday morning for weeks for just this contingency, but it may be to no avail. Not only does Xavier-Georgia start at 9:20am and Kansas is being shown locally, not one reasonably close establishment is perceptive enough to open at 9:00am.

Must explore secondary option of laptop and wifi. Signing up for MMOD VIP weeks ago may prove prescient.

I have never heard of a company not paying a holiday with an adjacent sick day. Interesting. Who does this so I can make sure I don't work there?

I found it bizarre, but have heard it from two different persons in the last day. My employee handbook does not mention anything, but I'm thinking about just skipping out for a couple hours rather than the whole day.

If Xavier makes it to next week, I'll take a sick day Thursday or Friday. It's not like I use them being sick.

My company in Indy is like that. I am taking Thursday and Friday as Vacation days.

I have to admit, I just don't get this policy. It seems like it would be to cut down on extending holiday weekends, but who cares? That's like not allowing sick days on Fridays and Mondays.
