Hello. Just some random thoughts before tonight's game. Feel free to scroll on by if you're looking for insight. Won't Find it here.

Anyway Mack in the huddle last night: he wanted the team to do two things work it inside and slow down. First play ball into OMara and he scores. We then went on a little run earmarked by patience. Mack got what he asked for. I was in texting mode with a board member and I said I thought Mack thought he was coaching last years team. Letting the team work themselves out of a jam. His timeout was effective but two possessions too late in my view. This team needs more frequent coaching intervention and I hope that happens. We have a great coach. He needs to coach them in-game more.

Tre Bluiett - absolute stud. That young man wanted it last night and he delivered. Missed a couple of free throws and then played a near perfect close out. What a player. Malcolm Bernard. Happy for this young man. He is having one hell of a run and I hope he keeps it up. Thanks to the poster who reminded us of his interview of two weeks ago. He does well and calls his teammates and himself out with analytical calmness. Good representative of the University

Coach Travis. I don't know a lot about him but every time I hear him speak I vacillate between thinking this guy really knows what he's talking about or this guy is trying to sell me a used car. Mild performance art. Seriously though he seems to channel Coach Mack in a good way.

Coach Pegues. He's done a hell of a job with Tyrique, Rashid and Sean. Each player a different challenge - the frosh, the 5th year vet and Sean. Would love to see Sean pull it all together but he has come on leaps and bounds. Thanks Coach.

JP. When that kid stole the ball from JP in the backcourt I was astounded. The kid fell into the crowd and sneaked up on JP. Hey Macura where did you think he was? You saw him fall into the crowd. There are five players on each team. A little snapshot of his somewhat recent manual lapses. But when you think about how much responsibility he has been given recently it's understandable that he will make a few mental errors. He is an absolute baller and one thing about him - he never hides. Give me the ball. So glad to have him.

There used to be a poster on here who, on the cusp of a big game, would rally the troops with a call to arms worthy of General Patton or John Blutarsky. That man is needed now. Will he step up and ready the horses? Time (is running out) will tell.

Mack last night " I love my team".

Go X.

From all the doom and gloom we were experiencing a couple weeks ago, I'm glad the guys righted the ship and have came out and took care of business the last 3 halves of basketball. Let's hope this streak continues and we have a shot at a Big East Championship... man what a freaking story that would be.

This was one of the greatest losses in X history. X wins this they are a 8/9 now they are a 10/11/12 possibly in Indy. I will never doubt Mack. This team is special. Give me a 12/5 or 10/7 in Indy and I'll take my chances. Great fight tonight bois!!!!

Commie Kevin KFX I am a sinner, and I gave up on the Muskies. I don't want to admit it but it is true. I am shamed.

It was at the end of the drought. I always caution people to never leave the team during the down times. That is when they need us most. That is the time that real fans stick together and support the team. I failed them.

Butler at home, the 5th game of the 6th game losing streak, we had the game. We fought so hard to have the lead. And then the meltdown happened. Like 5 straight turnovers. And they all ended in layups. A lead evaporated and a deficit emerged that could not be surpassed. Just like that. Just like all the other second half melt downs. In almost everyone of our losses we have a second half lead. But that wasn't the worst of it. I was still onboard, until ....

Marquette. Jesus. For The Love of God. We never even made a run. We let them come in here and do that and we never ever threatened them. It seemed during the Marquette game that our team just gave up. We didn't seem to even care that they were doing what they did. That was the worst performance of a Xavier team I have witnessed at the Cintas. No run, no energy, like nobody on the team even cared. And that was our final game. That was senior night. I have never, ever seen a senior night with less than what they gave us that night. It was despicable. Reprehensible. A very ill wind was blowing in the Cintas, and it was all bad.

I gave up. I resigned myself to the oblivion of nothingness. If the players didn't care about Xavier, well I didn't care about them. I gave up.

But something funny happened on the way to the funeral. We beat DePaul, we beat them again, and then we had our single most impressive win of the season against Butler. And then we had a very impressive game against Creighton last night. They say there are no moral victories, but they always say that when it is in fact a moral victory. That was a great basketball game, and we played it till the end.

I think this was a successful Big East Tournament. We had our biggest win of the season. The team we lost to tonight could do some damage in the tourney, and we could too.

I think we are back on track, and ready to punch someone in the face. I can't wait.

To have played that well last night and to have lost....

You think they'll take that edge into the NCAAT with them?

I have to think Xavier just became an "oh, shit" reaction to its coming opponents in the Dance.

I would also like to believe that the MSG atmosphere prepped Q for the Tournament.

No kidding! If I'm like a three or four seed, I don't want to see X coming up any time soon.

Edit: A six seed should be very concerned. Not cocky, but like how we finished in general. The arrow points up.

I love our seeding, and I think we will ride roughshod through this pisshole bracket!
