National Champions Quiz

Without looking it up, I can name 67 out of 78. And believe it or not, there is someone on this site (XBand) who actually beat that.

I know who won the first one, I know who won four of the ten in the 40s from being in those arenas and seeing the banners, and I know from 1955 all the way up to the present. The funny thing is that the ones I had the most trouble with were the the two most recent ones prior to last year.

48, though I cheated a bit by just typing in UCLA every year from 1975 back. Other than '75 (when they should have lost to Louisville), I didn't remember what years UCLA won in particular, but I knew it was a bunch of them. The only two from my lifetime (born '76) I couldn't recall at all were Michigan State '00 and Maryland '02.

I was able to enter them back through 1960. Before that, start to plug in teams you know have championships but not sure what exact year.

Funny thing is that you'll only get as far back as 1964 if you plug and play UCLA.

I got 72 by guessing on Indiana, Kansas and Kentucky from 1941 through 1958. I missed on Holy Cross, Oklahoma State's 2 titles, Utah, Wisconsin and Stanford.
