Time to recalibrate your Big East predictions.
Remaining Games:
At Creighton.
Home DePaul .
Home Villanova.
At Providence.
At Marquette.
At Seton Hall.
Home Butler.
Home Marquette.
At DePaul.
My earlier prediction was 11 wins 7 losses.
So I have 4 losses to go .
I saw us losing to Creighton ,Villanova, and Home Butler.
My one additional loss was a split between At Seton Hall and Home and Away Marquette .
Based on how well Seton Hall played last night and Marquette got drilled by St. Johns my 7th loss is at Seton Hall which means we have to sweep Marquette .
The consensus day one prediction was 12 and 6.

I'll give the losses @ Creighton, Nova at home, and at SH.... But I'll be damned if we lose at home to Butler

I'd be pretty pleased with 9-9. Wins are going to be hard to come by from here on out (just like last night). 10-8 would be outstanding.

This, I agree with Go here. I think 9-9 or 10-8 would be pretty great. Relying on a freshman PG is not going to work out game in and game out. Hopefully it works out for the games we have a shot winning. That said, another poster mentioned the '04 team. This team has a chance to show some similarities if guys can figure out certain roles. We have a go-to player and really two if Macura gets hot.

I said 12-6 originally, surprisingly I am only adding one more loss.

I say 11-7.

But I am also a biased superfan.

10-8 would be pretty good.

At the very least I think we continue our nationwide non losing conference streak.

I said 11-7 at first and am sticking with that. Losses at Creighton, Villanova, and two of three from the at Marquette, Seton hall Providence road trip.

I don't understand how 10-8 is great from here on out. We are 6-3 and have 2 Depauls left. If we finish 4-5 with DePaul twice on the schedule i'll be a bit disappointed.

We're not very good. And incredibly thin.

I'm with you on this one honestly. It wouldn't be the end of the world with those 5 losses, but I certainly think they can do better. Q is going to go through some struggles for sure.. But as a whole they're only going to get better as a group the more they get used to this lineup. @Marquette is the big swing game but they're as inconsistent as anyone in the country. St John's just smacked them (Who is getting hotter and hotter btw). Providence doesn't really scare me and I still think they beat Butler at home in probably Tre's last game against them for his career

I said 11-7 or 12-6. I will now say 9-9.
Losses - @Creighton, @Marquette, @Seton Hall, @Providence, Nova, (Either @Depaul or Butler)
Wins - Depaul, Marquette, (Either Butler or @Depaul)

I think we also win @ De Paul and Butler and @Providence. So 11-7. Maybe 10-8 if we lose to Marquette. I don't think my original 12-6 has much likelihood now.

As long as they are flowing come March. Doesn't really matter.

After last night I'm going optimistic and 11-7. I thought our offense looked better with Q running the point and it should only get better the more he plays.

Right. I still feel like we have the talent to win. A lot of teams out there would still love the 5 we will be putting out on a nightly basis. It's the depth to me that's most concerning. I'm hoping we will look to sneaking in Tim Stainbrook for a few minutes here and there.

6-3 the rest of the way. Losses: @Creighton, Villanova, @Marquette,

I said 13-5, I still think we can go 12-6, not going to be easy but doable. I thought this team grew a lot last night. There is still plenty of talent. Hoping the bigs continue to get better and Kaiser embraces his new role. We shall see

The vast majority of us said we would lose at Creighton.
I was 11 wins and 7 losses at the the season opener., with Creighton as a loss .
I can confidently move to 12 and 6 .
Which to the credit of the majority of the posters was their initial prognostication.
What a smart group!

I'll bet the majority also said we'd beat Creighton at Cintas, so that's a push.

This team is still too unknown to make a real prediction.

Last year I pretty much knew what the strategy was. Feed it down-low and if you can't get an easy shot kick it back out for a 3. Then rebound.

This year, there isn't a real identity known yet. Which will only make this last month more interesting.

When you bigs are 11 for 12 like they were in Omaha, that might still be a good strategy.

Hence the term "prediction". Waiting until April would be easier, but.....

OK, I'm not trying to be a smart ass, just wishing the Super Bowl would start already!

Hmm my 11-7 might be off now...looking more like 13-5 or 12-6 now which is a testament to this team and Mack this year.

I agree XVille. Hoping my 9-9 is 4 or 5 games off. What a fantastic win on Saturday. Made my whole weekend.

Nova and then 3 road games in a row......will make or break our ability to compete for a league title

My guess is that we lose 3 more. I think one of them is Villanova at home, and the other two are on the road.

Here is what is left for the league

1.) Villanova (13-3) Creighton, @Georgetown
2.) Butler (11-5) @Xavier, Seton Hall
3.) Creighton (9-6) @Villanova, St. Johns, @Marquette
4.) Xavier (8-7) Butler, Marquette, @Depaul
5.) Marquette (8-7) @Providence, @Xavier, Creighton
6.) Seton Hall (7-8) Depaul, Georgetown, @Butler
7.) Providence (7-8) Marquette, Depaul, @St. Johns
8.) St Johns (6-9) Georgetown, @Creighton, @Providence
9.) Georgetown (5-10) @St. Johns, @Seton Hall, Villanova
10.) Depaul (2-13) @Seton Hall, @Providence, Xavier

Do we have last minute updated guesses for the league?

I'll stick with 9-9 being good and 10-8 being great for us.

gladdenguy

It would be awfully nice to go 10-8 because it is gonna be tough for Marquette, Seton Hall, and Providence to get to 10 wins.
That would secure 4th place in the league and cement the tourney bid.

If Butler can't win a Big East tournament game this year, I don't know when their best chance will come next.
