I normally watch the games at home (or at the tas obviously) but going to meet some friends out somewhere Tuesday to watch the Nova game. Wondering which bars are best to watch XU games. I want a bar that will have the XU game as the focus and have the volume to the game on. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I'm not sure about the TV volume, but Buffalo Wings and Rings on Winton Road in Finneytown is a Xavier establishment. Food, service, and beer selection are good, too.

I think Listermans could be this bar. Put in 5-6 large screen TV's in the back room and add some extra taps and it would be a great venue to pack 150-200 people into for away games.

Champions on the west side is a pro Xavier bar. Ownership has some ties to X.

The Taphouse (old Willie's) on Montgomery Road near Moeller is a good spot for local beer and decent burgers (I like the "firehouse" burger). And the word on the street is that The Taphouse is moving to the Xavier Square complex later this year. This means that (perhaps) Listerman's won't be so insanely crowded on game days, something that will get worse when the kitchen is up and running there. It's all good.

Listerman's has come a long way, yet I don't think the owner really gets it.
Opening up the back room and putting in picnic tables was a great move.....but how about adding some big screen TV's and putting a couple of taps back in that area with 3-4 of the most popular beers. He did this for a few games last year but why not every home game?

Really, that pizza place at Xavier square is a pretty nice setup for watching a game. I forget the name of the place, but it's right on the corner of Montgomery. Lots of TVs, decent beers and food, and you know the crowd will be pro X.

Dana's is always a great spot. However, it will be slammed w/ students and might not be the greatest spot if you're planning on dining and don't want to be the oldest person in the bar. That being said, I love O'Bryon's. Plenty of TVs, always gets a good Xavier crowd, and great food. They will turn the volume on the game as well.

i've had good luck with The Oak, pretty sure they play the games with volume, just can't remember for sure. Although, if there are other local/semi-local teams with games at the same time, those will be on too.

Hell I live off Oakley Square. Gonna have to try the Oak. At least till Mad Tree 2.0 opens up down the street. Not sure as I just started drinking again and :loco: all big decisions are handled by my Power of Attorney NutsforXu.
