Got Xavier shorts with pockets.

We gave our friends visiting for the holidays a Xavier throw blanket available through the bookstore.
Over the years we have bought a couple, and they are great. Each time with a different configuration of the Xavier logo.
What is interesting (at least to me) is that they are one of the few items you can buy that are not imported.
These particular ones are woven in a small plant in Lynn, North Carolina, which is about 20 miles away from where we live, across the state line in the mountains near Tryon.
Would highly recommend them.

My Merry Christmas tangent: I've been to Tryon, NC before. Driving from Xavier to Hilton Head Island, SC for the summer, just me and my dog. All I have is a Mobil gas card and about $10. (Being a poor college kid sucks!) I'm running low on gas in the middle of nowhere and it's well after midnight. I see a sign for a Mobil station so I decide the smart thing to do is stop there, no telling where the next one will be. They are closed of course, so I'm snoozing in the car waiting for the sun to rise and the station to open. About 4:30am there is a rap on my window. The Tryon police dept. wants to know why I'm sleeping in their town. I explain the situation and wait for some negative, no loitering response. Instead, he says "Ahh, Bob is an early riser" and proceeds to call the owner of the station, who rushes over to sell me a tank full of gas! He even suggests that, when I thought I was full, if I turn around and face down the hill I may get another gallon or two, which might just matter somewhere down the road. He was right, and I had a great summer in HHI.
