Suspension?
Enough is enough. If Coach K doesn't have enough class to do what's right, the ACC should take action.

The ACC and NCAA are so mad at Allen that the Elon player he tripped will be suspended for a game.

Or, we should schedule some UC teams from yore, and see how the punk fares!

Coach K is a piece of shit. He always preaches sportsmanship, and making players into men, and all that bullshit. He's the first one to go off on managers, refs, and players. And then he puts Allen back in the game tonight. Way to put your foot down by having him not start the 2nd half.

In the live presser right now, he's dancing around the issue again...........
Allen's reaction on the sidelines should be very concerning for his coach, players and family. Kid has some issues.

Puts up with it? He's probably thrilled that someone is acting like that for the first time since JJ Redick wore a Duke uniform.

Did JJ trip a lot of people? I thought everyone hated him bc he was so good and played for duke.

While the whole kicking/tripping/whatever you call it on the court is concerning, the more disturbing thing to me is that he had a temper tantrum akin to a three year old being told their parents aren't buying a toy for them while on the sideline. https://twitter.com/kylebooneCBS/status/811717843918188545

well put. If Coach K didn't suspend Allen last year for either of his trips than he sure as hell isn't going to start doing so now. He may say its "unacceptable", but he still wants his best player to play in every game.

He deserves to get a significant suspension. That "public reprimand" BS from last season obviously doesn't do jack shit. Suspend him for 10 games, that'll make him think twice before tripping someone again.

What's crazy about this is that Allen isn't even close to Duke's best player. They don't need him. Just suspend him and try to quiet everything down for a bit.

It's up to the ACC now. Or are they too busy dealing with North Carolina revising their own notice of allegations yet again?

So that could mean anything from a practice to a few games.

Based on what we (XU fans) all know, it could mean to end of the first semester or the beginning of the 2nd semester.

What's crazy about this is that Allen isn't even close to Duke's best player.
At this point, he's not their best white guard. The trip was bad, and I think he should be suspended. I think the reaction, though, is the culmination of coming back to school, being on everyone's preseason All-American lists - including being a POY candidate - and shooting 38% from the field while averaging 5 less points than he did last year. Selfish and unnecessary, yes. But I think that's where he's coming from.

People forget that he was also elbowed in the face in Duke's return game at Louisville last year (albeit inadvertently). That was also after Louisville banned himself from the postseason last year - it wasn't like they had anything else to lose at that point.
Any road games at Louisville, Florida State and UNC have the potential to be real volatile this year.
If it was bad enough to suspend him why did coach K put him back in 2nd half?
He sat the beginning of the second half - Coach K probably thought that was reasonable at the time.

Because Coack K is a dickhead who doesn't actually practice the bullshit that he preaches.
I want to be clear. I don't usually care if a coach is a slime ball all that much. My issue is that Coach K pretends to be the moral authority for amateur athletics but is just as shitty as the rest of the bunch.

I actually said to my wife last night, that had I been that Elon player, I probably would have got up and swung at him. Knowing that he has done it on multiple occasions, it isn't an accident, and you can really hurt someone by doing that. I probably would have needed a reflection session if he did that to me. For the Elon player to keep his cool was impressive.

I predict he'll be suspended 3 games then will "coincidentally" will return in their first game against a ranked conference foe in Florida State.
And yeah Coach K is a phony and hypocrite. Remember when he lectured Dillon Brooks after he thought he celebrated too much after Oregon knocked them off in the tournament a couple of years back?

Deadspin (http://deadspin.com/duke-suspends-grayson-allen-indefinitely-1790396210)
It is a universally accepted truth that Fuckboy Duke is a lot more fun to have around than Quietly Competent Duke, because the real villain is always Mike Krzyzewski, who wakes up with sanctimony dripping from his butthole
So much this.

12-22-2016, 07:54 PM
I think he should have been suspended, but I was hoping that Krzyzewski wouldn't do anything. Let people go crazy! Let the people who he doesn't know and that have absolutely nothing to do with Duke's program rave on and on about how offended they are!
In all seriousness, Krzyzewski should have suspended him, but he should have suspended him because he himself felt compelled to do so. Not because a bunch of people are mad about it.

He needs to get his head straight and see a professional. Seriously, he needs some help. If Coach K "loves" him as he says he does, he will not allow him to come back until someone who knows what's going on, can really help him.
Odds of that happening are really, really slim.

That's the thing we learned with Jalen last year: eventually you lose the benefit of the doubt and your actions are viewed through a lens that presumes the worst.
That said (and while perhaps I too am viewing the play though such a lens), the leg kick looks awkard to me. Particularly in context with the screen, it looks to me like he's trying to make some "contact" there, if you know what I mean...

I'd love to know if he did this in high school. He had to of. It seems to be something that is automatically ingrained into him and his play. It is almost like he was going to do it there and was like "oh shit what am I doing" and pulled back.

yep, it wasn't blatant like the other ones, but when he kicked his leg back AND also kicked it up, it looked like he kicked it up on purpose to make some sort of contact.
