1st true road game did not turn out well albiet against 1 of the 2 best teams on our schedule. Our next 5 on the road is a bit concerning. Getting a W in Boulder is a must just so a negative mindset doesn't fester. Hoping we can go at least 3-3 in the first 6 on the road but it will be a challenge. Then if Myles is back on 1/9, that will give a nice boost for Nova in Philly.

Losing at Baylor is not concerning. Winning at Baylor is awesome, and losing at Baylor might suck because losing anywhere sucks, but it isn't anything to worry about. Baylor is good enough to beat Final Four teams on their home floor. In games like that you're kind of shooting for the moon. I like playing a game or two like that because we should be shooting for the moon, but if we happen to miss the moon then it's no reason to get discouraged. We're fine. Winning anywhere is tough, but I do think we'll get the win at Colorado.

Team 94 lost only 3 true road games all season and had a confident/all business personna throughout the year. Team 94 won at Michigan to begin that road toughness, team 95 stumbled. Win tonite and start to build on the road warrior mentality going into the brutal early BE road games. Really missing last years seniors and Myles.

Baylor and Michigan are 2 completely different teams. One team has scary potential at full strength and another team had just that - potential. Michigan was a wounded team that barely scraped into the NCAA Tournament last season. Baylor is not going to have those issues.

Colorado is closer to Michigan - they had a decent showing in NY with a loss against Notre Dame and a win against Texas, but they also lost to their in-state neighbor Colorado State.

No argument there, no intent to compare the 2. As well, tonite will be more of a challenge than @ Wake last year. The comparison is this years team to last. I for one actually thought we would be even better this year (at least until Jalen opted out) but would love to debate that being the case. Just a little worried about tonite. I think if we can keep our road losses at about 5/6 for the season will be a good achievement for this squad.

The first 6 road games are definitely tough (Baylor, Colorado, Gtown, Nova, Butler, UC) but I'd be disappointed with a 3-3 mark. If all goes well, Myles will be playing for the last 4 of those. Will be interesting to see how the UC/Butler game goes this week; might tell us more about how good those teams are.

That is why tonite is HUGE. It appears that there is a "soft" stretch after tonite before the excrement hits the fan on New Years eve. Then comes the Black and Blue portion of the schedule. If we can make it to the 2/4 game @ Creighton healthy and no multigame L streaks, we should be in the mix for a BE reg title.

But man, it is going to be a brutal slugfest! Road game at GU, VU, BU, UC, CU sandwiched in between are Cintas games against CU, GU, SHU. Could be all against top 50 RPI. Is there anyone in the country with a brutal stretch like that?

Well the aforementioned negative mindset could very well start to fester. Team looked scared/confused and are heading back to Cintas demoralized. Mack had harsh words in post game on mental toughness. Unfortunately, losing 3 of the next 4 on the road looks probable. Need Myles back before 1/9 !

Time for XU road warriors 2.0. When is that 1st true road W going to happen? If not today then it may be awhile. A month from now in NYC maybe but they defended their court well the other night and only going to get better. Steal one at Hinkle?. This is a concern but our schedule does soften a bit at the end so we should grab a few road wins then and finish strong.

Every road win from here on out is probably going to be a nail biter. Everybody knows what the other team runs and what the personal are capable of. I like the mental toughness the team showed in the last 10 minutes, and it's going to take plenty of that to win road games in the BEAST.

Also want to point out that #5 Duke and #9 NC both lost on the road today...to those powers VaTech and GaTech.

Road wins are gold! Especially early in the conference season.

1 conference road win down. I say 5-6 more conference road wins to go.
Not sure about at UC.

Hold serve at home(unlike Creighton today against a great Villanova team)

I would have to doubt 5-6 more conference road wins. Check what happened to UNC, Duke and Butler this weekend. Villanova did win on the road though against a tough Creighton team.

If we can go 5-4 on the road we will be in very good shape. I just dont see us losing anymore than 2 at home, if that.

While I think that it is going to be very unlikely that X can win AT 'Nova and AT Creighton, I don't think that any other road win is in that category, not even Butler. X has shown themselves in the past capable of winning in hostile locations, and I fell the CAN do it again. Having said that, I fear that it is realistic to say that they probably will suffer 3-4 road loses in conference this year, and I'm not super confident about getting a win AT UC. BUT other than 'Nova, I don't see anyone else in the B-east doing any better, either. I think the key is controlling the amount of turnovers because home teams, and home crowds, seem to really become entergized when they are able to turn the opposition over and score easy baskets. It can become a feeding frenzy. If X can avoid letting that happen they can win anywhere.

(Low)Turnovers at Georgetown and making free throws were pleasant road surprises. Our guys shake off mistakes, rebound and scrap hard for 40 minutes. Trevon road shooting woes puzzle us all. A deep run in March might hinge on solving that issue.

Last real chance to get that huge road W. The UC game will be the most important against them in some time. Looking at their remaining schedule, they could easily run the table and finish 29-2! Beat them Thursday and then they win out would do wonders for our tournement resume. A 28-3 Bearcat team would surely be top 10 going into the post season.
