Nice. This should be a good reminder throughout the season of someone's progress.

I like posting the Game #1, but please include the opponent, so that when we look back in this thread it can remind us more quickly.

Thank you!

-- Annnnd thanks for making the edit. I look forward to following this thread.

I'll check tomorrow. I used the calculator on the basketball reference website. Maybe it hasn't been updated.

the link I had was to the old calculator. I've updated the first post and run the second.

Is there a place anywhere on those links that I can see the player's efficiency rating (especially for last year) or do I have to do some calculations to get it.
I'm thinking the rating may be available on ESPN insider but I don't have that.

Go to the middle of the page, it's the chart labled advanced on this link (http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/xavier/2016.html). If you're interested in conference only, it's at the bottom.

For whatever it's worth, you can also see the in-game efficiency stat that Xavier now uses for their game trackers. Go to the individual stats tab.

I love the Sports Reference site for stats. Here's one from last night ...

Tyrique Jones rebounded 63.5% of all shots missed by Buffalo when he was in the game. That's insane!

At this point, these stats are starting to be useful for starters and bench players with significant minutes, though I would still call it a small sample size. They are interesting but not too useful for Jones, Gates, and Goodin.

Gaston's play lately has really upped his efficiency rating.

No kidding! After that slow start, who would have thought he'd trail only Trevon?
