I have no interest in a biased portrayal of what narrative you and the left want to perpetrate.
Perhaps this unbiased Wikipedia article will show you something true.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter_Files
And to besmirch two true journalists is ludicrous.
Bari Weiss. An honest liberal journalist formerly of the New York Times, and Matt Taibbi, a liberal journalist formerly of Rolling Stone.
This isn’t Breitbart you are dealing with here.

How sad that court filings by Twitter's own attorneys, that refute the allegations of Musk, Taibbi and Weiss...you chose to pass off as a "biased portrayal."
Do you actually think Twitter's own attorneys would lie in their characterization in court? You may truly have gone down the rabbit hole.
Of course if you just read to the very last paragraph of the Wikipedia article that you post to support how great their journalism is suppose to be, you have found this:
Aftermath
In June 2023 lawyers working for Twitter contested many of the claims made in the Twitter Files in court. According to CNN "Altogether, the filing by Musk’s own corporate lawyers represents a step-by-step refutation of some of the most explosive claims to come out of the Twitter Files and that in some cases have been promoted by Musk himself."[92]
Maybe the lawsuit and the filings are "Fake News."

What are you trying to prove? Besmirch Musk? One of the greatest inventors of our time?
Besmirch Independent Quality Journalists? No other media source that I can find has said anything negative about Weiss, Taibbi’s and Shellenberger’s work. They even had screen shots of actual emails that backed up what they wrote.
Every other news media source seems to think it was great journalism.
And quit being amazingly naive that sources inside the Government weren’t trying to influence coverage. That stuff was shown.
Sorry you lost your convenient little narrative-shape toy.
And with the disaster that is CNN, your preferred news source, maybe we can return to a more fair and balanced media landscape.

In June of 2020, when the FBI recorded the unverified allegations about Biden and his son, Trump was president.
Bill Barr was his AG, over the FBI.
Christopher Wray (put in place by Trump) was heading the FBI.
Don't you think if there were anything at all that was credible in the report, they would have acted.
Maybe there is something, but it sure seems more reasonable that there isn't, or else Barr would have acted.

I remember both Biden and Pence finding out they both had classified documents in their possession; the big difference is that both at least did full-cavity searches of the places in question and turned everything over to the feds. The FBI has already decided nothing further will happen with Pence at least.

Except that, as proven recently, lower level FBI Agents with a political bias and agenda have withheld evidence and been selective in what they chose to report to higher ups to protect “their side”. (Strozyk).
Without the full picture, Barr, who was a well respected long term Administrator, I believe, did not want to upset “norms” ( that the Democrats rountinely do) and interfere with an upcoming election. I’m sure that Democrats are still bitching about another Administrator who allegedly interfered in the 2016 election, despite the fact that their candidate clearly broke the law with classified docs on a private server.

Except there's no slam dunk anything. If any of what Clinton described as personal that were destroyed, were actually confidential...then a copy of the original email from the sender in the State Dept would still be in the State Dept...could have been found...and she could have been prosecuted. But they didn't find any.
As to the 30,000 emails that she turned over:
“There was no evidence that the senders or former Secretary Clinton believed or were aware at the time that the emails contained classified information,” the Justice IG report said. “The emails in question were sent to other government officials in furtherance of the senders’ official duties. There was no evidence that the senders or former Secretary Clinton intended that classified information be sent to unauthorized recipients, or that they intentionally sought to store classified information on unauthorized systems.”
David Kendall, an attorney for Clinton, told the Fact Checker: “The State Department personnel who originated the emails did not think their content merited classification, and not a single one of the over 33,000 emails bore classification markings.”
In his news conference, Comey said “three of those were classified at the time they were sent or received.” At the time, he said one was marked “secret” and two “confidential,” but at a congressional hearing two days later, he said all were marked “confidential,” the lowest form of classification. Moreover, he acknowledged that markings — a (C) — were contained in the body of the text and, contrary to standard practice, there was no header at the top alerting someone that this was classified material. He told lawmakers that without a header, it was “a reasonable inference” that this material was not classified.
So, 30,000 plus emails with not one marked correctly as confidential...let alone Secret, Top Secret, etc.
A lot different than finding Top Secret stuff lying around, saying it's all been returned, and finding out it was a lie.
You might get indicted for that.

If you weren't so blinded by what people say in the ongoing we hate Hillary nonsense, you would recognize that she's been off the political stage for 7 years.
And would know that if there was any way to prosecute her for anything, someone in Trump's 4 years would have done it. She's gone. She's not running for anything. Focus on an indicted former president who leads in the Republican party polls and figure out why you all can't do better.
And yes, the Dems should do better than the current occupant. Age should be a factor for considering fitness over a 4 year stretch.

What norms were there before these indictments? The only norms I can think of is to protect your political party and people within your party at all cost and blame the other party in some way. These norms are playing out again over these new indictments. In my opinion, there should be charges for Trump, Biden, and Pence. Could care less what party they are affiliated with. What Trump supposedly did (or not do) in New York is penny-ante stuff compared to what he's facing in this round of charges in federal court, albeit with a friendly Trump-appointed judge that has currently been assigned to the case. If more people show up to demonstrate tomorrow, then it's likely a silent admission that they know he screwed up big-time.

First of all, the state of Florida isn't going after Trump - the feds are going after him. It just happens to be the District of South Florida that has jurisdiction here.
But to answer the question, the closest to being politically motivated (and even here I would say no) would be the New York case. What WAS politically motivated was Trump's first impeachment trial over the withholding of aid to Ukraine. Democrats were just looking for any excuse to impeach at that point. The second impeachment should have been a slam-dunk removal from office, but at that point the Senate was too polarized to do that.

As for the NY case, it’s completely politicized IMO. Reason is the Feds completely passed on the case and Bragg campaigned to indict Trump.

Biden can only talk freely in a tightly controlled environment with a mostly friendly press protecting him. Even then, he stumbles trying to get out a coherent sentence.

There are different versions of 78...and you know this. I'm fortunate that both my father and father in law are still around, both are 79. One still plays golf daily, rides a bike and is very 'with it'. The other is really struggling mentally processing basic information and has to have things repeated quite often. Age is definitely just a number. That being said, I don't want either of them within 50 miles of the White House in 2024. Just awful, awful choices we have.

Does anyone else get the sense that outside of his immediate family, no one that has actually known or worked with Donald Trump actually likes him?? I mean...NO ONE!! Many in the Republican Party seem to be unable to stand him. They publicly support him because they know he has a big base, and they feel they need the support of that base to stay in power, so they publicly kiss his ass and beg for his endorsement. But privately they all seem to dislike him. It's been reported (well, okay..RUMORED) that many who voted to acquit him at the impeachment trials, including individuals like Mitch McConnell, privately wanted him convicted. They just didn't want to personally publicly vote for it.
And what is it that people like most about Trump?? Well, as best I can tell they like how much the Left DISlikes him. That's really it. I get that The Left can be a bunch of lunatics, and I totally understand how they come off as people who sit in ivory towers and shout at people from their soapboxes. But aside from pissing off the Lunatic Left, which I understand is cathartic, how in the hell can so many people be so convinced that someone who is so narcissistic is worthy of such cult-like praise??
"This is all a witch hunt!!"
NO IT ISN'T!!
If someone from your company (regardless of where you work) took a bunch of files on their way out the door and didn't give them back, wouldn't your company call the police?? Wouldn't they press charges?? I don't work at a place with high level government security, and if I took any files out of where I work I assure you I'd be prosecuted for it. So....how is this a witch hunt?? This is very much the normal course of action. For ANYONE! Much less someone who totally mishandled classified documents for what I suspect was the dumbest of reasons. "THEY'RE MINE!! LOOK WHAT I'VE GOT!!" I don't think he was necessarily going to TRY and sell them or compromise the country. I just think that having them made him feel important, and that he thought the people he showed them to would also think he was important.
If a court house file clerk stole files, what would happen?? If a probate court file clerk stole adoption files, what would happen?? If someone who worked at a doctor's office took those files, what would happen?? All would almost assuredly be prosecuted.

Further, he is not being prosecuted for taking the Classified Documents. He is being prosecuted for refusing to return them, and actually taking steps to further conceal them, after it was brought to his attention that he should not have taken certain documents. Much like Pence and Biden, no charges were brought for documents he voluntarily returned after the archives discovered he was in possession of them.

I think it's mostly not that big a deal for the former President of the United States to have classified documents. Obviously, he should have given them back when it was revealed he had them. It's like he's daring the feds to prosecute him. Is it some sort of grand plan to make him look like the victim of a politicized prosecution to his base (and people who might consider voting for him)? Not sure I'd give him that much credit, but that's the only somewhat logical explanation for his behavior...which means it's probably not the explanation, because I don't think he's prone to utilizing logic.

Trump was a Democrat for most of his life because he had to be to get anything done in NYC. What’s really funny is he donated money to most of “Progressive Elite” for much of his life and now they’re mad because he, not them became President. It truly is awesome when you think about it.

No. It is not the same. Biden held docs going back to when he was in the Senate and as VP. Second in line does not make you CIC. And HRC? Not even close.
His lawyers were negotiating the return of the docs. Garland (bitter) and Biden raided Trump’s home to seize docs that frankly, he’s allowed to keep.
You know who had no right to retain any docs. Biden and HRC. Let’s not play games.
You don’t have to like that he was President but I’d expect you to salute the office/rank, not the man.

It's not that long. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/23839627-read-trump-indictment-related-to-mishandling-of-classified-documents
Then you'd understand that as a private citizen he isn't "allowed to keep." Even if he wants some memorabilia, highly classified documents don't fit that bill and he isn't allowed to have them in his possession, let alone show them to others.
And when his attorneys are told "what happens if we just don't respond at all, or don't play ball with them"...that doesn't sound at all like they were "negotiating the return of the documents."
Read the indictment.

From news reports I’ve heard, there’s one thing that, if true, will be very difficult to explain away. Supposedly, there is a recording, maybe video, maybe audio, of Trump showing classified documents to a person or persons with no clearance, and admitting that the documents had never been declassified and that he shouldn’t be showing them. That’s a BIG problem.

Because per Bill Clinton’s removal of docs anything a President leaves office with is considered “personal property”. So no, they are not “private citizens”. You’re wrong and don’t know what you’re talking about.

I just started and the prosecutor indicted TRUMP not Donald J Trump. While DJT was identified the author did not specify Donald J Trump would henceforth be known as TRUMP or the Defendant.
That’s just sad and I hope that is not the real document.
Why it’s sad is because legally no such person known as TRUMP exists unless they are indicting his brand.
And for the record. I am not a lawyer.
That aside. I want to know who was at the golf club in NJ and what the purpose of the meeting and also who recorded it (if the tape exists). Also, I’d like to know if NJ is a two way consent State when it comes to recordings. That can cause problems for the recorder.
I’m not a lawyer and no one is paying me to do this so I’ll stop.

Honestly if your ever agreed with me, I would have to rethink my opinion. The level of confidently incorrect bull shit you spew about the law is comical.
The difference between the Biden, Pence, Bill and Hillary vs Trump facts are obvious. There is a shit load of classified information that is shared at all levels of government, from the president, vice president, Secretary of State, all the way down to low level government contractors. Trump made it a campaign promise to prosecute Hillary and had 4 years of control over the DOJ and couldn’t make the case. My guess is that all they have is the bull shit conspiracy theories you peddle in on the deep edges of Twitter, and not real evidence to make a case.

First, you not being a lawyer is pretty obvious.
Second, Trump was sitting for an interview for Mark Meadows book. Saying off the record before sharing the classified information may protect it from being published by a journalist, but doesn’t protect you from being prosecuted by a prosecutor.

(In my opinion way too much is unnecessarily classified). In the former cases, when classified information was discovered, they cooperated and turned it over. Amazingly we agree too much is classified.
And we agree on his right to possess it is the matter at hand.
Now, tell me the role of precedent and how it applies here. If you can’t this is clearly selective prosecution.

You didn’t seem to know it, so out of a jury pool of a few million I am sure they can find 12 others that didn’t either.

What are you even talking about. That indictment was written tight enough that even Bill Barr said if half was true Trump is toast? It is clear you don’t read pleadings for a living, cause this basically nailed the jury instructions on any potential trial.

I think it would serve this conversation well if everyone actually read the indictment.
That sounds more like asking than telling.
It sounds as if a lot of this amounts to arrogance and stupidity.
Espionage?

Espionage?
For example, a retired Air Force officer, Robert Birchum, was sentenced earlier this month to three years in federal prison for keeping classified material at his Florida home. Birchum was charged under the same portion of federal law that prosecutors have accused Trump of violating – the Espionage Act.

Washington Republicans are dumb. They went too far and tried to impose a monster fine on top of the censure. Schiff would have sued. If they would have just stuck to the censure, it could have stuck. He's been completely exposed as a liar who literally made up the fact that he had some smoking gun on Trump and that he was secretly keeping it until the trial..He had nothing. "Finally, you are starting to get it. Almost.
The Obama administration opened up a counter-intelligence operation against candidate trump, and later President Trump on false evidence that they knew was bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign.
So the alphabet agencies were actively working to undermine and destroy a sitting president through lies and subterfuge, with Obama knowing the whole time.
Gee, there's a phrase for that - Seditious Conspiracy? Treason?
And you treat it like it's water off the duck's back. And are just now starting to acknowledge how grave it is that the far left has hijacked the legal apparatus in this country and is using it to terrorize anyone who doesn't walk in lock step with them.
For the love of god Alex, you are a great journalist. Take off those Manhattan liberal tinted glasses for good and seek the truth. The actual truth. Our country is becoming a nightmare. That is not hyperbole.
Hate Trump all you want, but the people going after him are abusing power in ways that we've never seen in this country.

Frankly there are 2-3 people on each side here that I swear are paid super pac members for each side. It’s all black and white for these folks and they peddle each side’s bullshit day after day thinking they are 100% right and the other side is 100% wrong. They are a great representation of the problem with this country, and why I get pissed off when I read their nonsense.

In response. People end up in prison every single day for crimes less serious than what Hunter Biden did. And in large part thanks to the legislative legacy of his father. The answer is 0 days. Cause he entered into a similar deal as Hunter Biden. This isn't because of special treatment (other than being rich), it is because it is the typical deal.
I would bet that we see a similar deal or punishment in the Trump tax case (take a low level plea with an agreement to pay the back taxes with some fines).

In the January 2021 email, Walensky clearly admits that the jabs weren’t working as advertised:
"I had a call with Francis Collins this morning and one of the issues we discussed was that of vaccine breakthroughs."
However, in public, Walensky was saying something quite different. Two months after discussing this data, she said vaccinated people “don’t carry the virus” and “don’t get sick.”

False. Per The NY Times he served 8 months on the gun charge:
“ Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., previously pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in connection with a gun that was found on his tour bus in Manhattan in 2007. He served eight months of a one-year sentence at Rikers Island jail.”

Lil Wayne was a convicted felon, in possession of a firearm...so his sentence was stiffer than Biden's.
No real mystery.
I've got an idea: let's focus on people who are gay, or immigrants, or Muslims, or who want to change genders...and ignore the real problems facing our country. That won't help anything...but it'll keep the rabid base all fired up. Then they'll pay $30+ for a six pack, that may or may not ever ship. How gullible can they be? We may never find out at this rate, but someone will make a LOT of money trying to find the bottom of that barrel.

I wonder if Paul and Bobbie will whine about this for the next 6 years?
Biden Launched a CIA, Military, State Dept Campaign Against Bolsonaro in Brazil.
The U.S. government mounted an “unannounced campaign” across its “military, the CIA, the State Department, the Pentagon and the White House” to undermine former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro and assist the accession of his far-left successor Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in 2023, according to the Financial Times.
The explosive revelations of a high-level, U.S-led, foreign intervention in Brazil’s election process and the ensuing aftermath will raise concerns, especially with America’s own presidential plebiscite looming.
“The Financial Times has spoken to six former or current US officials involved in the effort, as well as to several key Brazilian institutional figures, to piece together the story of how the Biden administration engaged in what one former top state department official calls a “very unusual” messaging campaign in the months leading up to the vote, using both public and private channels.”
This culminated in Lula breaking with the U.S. over sanctions against China, and with Brazil even supporting China-led efforts to move the global trade system off the U.S. dollar.
The Times reports the U.S. had “a more direct motivation,” specifically noting “the January 6 insurrection by Trump supporters at the Capitol in Washington,” as a driving factor behind President Biden’s strong feelings on intervening in Brazil.
Behind the scenes, the Brazilian military was also warned of consequences if it supported Bolsonaro. When the former president’s supporters stormed the Brazilian capitol demanding military intervention after Lula’s narrow victory, they declined to step in. Biden and the far-left leaders of Canada and Mexico then issued a joint statement in Lula’s support.

Don't forget how Obama tried to undermine the Israeli election with US taxpayer $$. But that $20K that the Russians supposedly spent on Facebooks ads was the most evil thing ever perpetuated on this country. Lets destroy Ukraine over that!!

One message showed a July 30, 2017, WhatsApp message with Hunter Biden telling his Chinese business associate, “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. How do you square that with him just recently pleading guilty to his tax crimes? And how do you explain the Trump appointed attorney saying he had full authority with no involvement from DOJ? (Unlike Durham talking all the time with Barr, making a mockery out of the "special counsel" idea.)

The first bolded sentence in your link says that they shielded him, allowing the statute of limitations to expire on his tax crimes.
How do you square that with him just recently pleading guilty to his tax crimes? And how do you explain the Trump appointed attorney saying he had full authority with no involvement from DOJ? (Unlike Durham talking all the time with Barr, making a mockery out of the "special counsel" idea.)
Me? I just posted a credible story. And Hunter is a criminal- glad you admit it- plus it was stated when the announcement came out that the “Investigation is still ongoing” so potentially there are more crimes to come. He obviously pled to some kind of charges. Why would he do that if the Statute had expired? You should probably ask Hunter’s corrupt attorneys that question, but he sure pled down the gun charge to which most would be thrown in the slammer.
And which “Trump appointed attorney”? I assume you refer to Weiss. It is documented that he tried to bring charges numerous times in multiple jurisdictions but he was denied the opportunity. Why was he denied? And why did the DOJ deny him the right to be a Special Counsel if they were serious about getting to the truth? Finally, Weiss isn’t exactly a rampant Republican. Weiss, whose office led the case, is a Trump administration holdover but was recommended to his post by Delaware’s two Democratic senators, who are both close Biden allies. Hmmm. There’s some collusion for ya!
You know who will get to the truth? The House of Representatives.
I don’t have to “square” anything. Maybe you should ask Merrick Garland.
Again, Paul attacks journalists when they don’t agree with his point of view, something that he couldn’t stop blasting Trump about. Can’t have it both ways Bub.

This Biden case just frosts me to the limit.
Imagine being Joe Biden. Your son makes millions of dollars from foreign entities but does not pay taxes because that would mean disclosing that he is engaged in foreign lobbying. With the millions of dollars and no serious job, he becomes a drug addict and illegally obtains a gun. All he tells them is that he is the son of the US Vice President, and he claims that part of the money will go to the "Big Guy." He promises them access to his dad and top US officials. They hire him without any qualifications and pay him millions of dollars.
Eventually, the information comes out, and the Justice Department has to investigate. The investigation drags on for five years, and eventually, they strike a deal with him to plead guilty to two misdemeanors of tax evasion so that the government would not prosecute him for illegally possessing a gun as a drug addict, a serious crime that has sent tens of thousands of Americans to prison for years.
Imagine being the same father who, as a senator, drafted a draconian anti-drug law that sent tens of thousands of black people and others to prison, confiscated all their belongings, and gave a big speech boasting that the drug addicts should all be taken off the streets. Now that your son is one of them, when you're asked about his case, you say you're proud of him and he has done nothing wrong.
Imagine journalists and commentators justifying it on television, singing your praises when their own child would have been in prison long ago for the same crimes. Imagine the people who believed in the rule of law watching the two-tiered justice system so brazenly displayed.
This country is an absolute mess rn.

A lot of families have to deal with addiction issues in their midst. They are not easy.
If Hunter is guilty, he should be held accountable for all his crimes, despite the addiction issues that make the decisions in those cases difficult.
I can't imagine a country where one of our two political parties has a twice impeached, convicted, and now indicted again person as their leading contender for the presidency. That is an absolute mess.

Stop hiding behind “addiction issues”. Hunter wasn’t so addicted that it kept him from dealing with foreign enemies for enrichment and using the Big Guys name for influence and cash.
We all know that the “impeachments” were bullshit and based on nothing other that Dem spite. But the one sure covered up Biden’s Ukraine dealing.
Try again.

When I say he should be held accountable “despite addiction issues”, what is it about that sentence you fail to understand?
Is it too complex?
Try worrying about the larger problem of the presumed nominee being convicted already, and facing espionage charges.

With the Court's ruling today in US v. Texas and the ruling last week Haaland v. Brackeen, concerning standing, it is starting to look more likely that the student loan forgiveness may succeed on the question of standing.

I’m really starting to like Chris Christie, which is a shocking sentence to write. I don’t know if I like him, or if it’s that I simply do not dislike him as much as I do Biden, Harris, Trump, and DeSantis.
But…yeah! If the election was today, think I’d vote for this guy!

Convicted of what? Serious question.
I don't believe Trump will be convicted of a single thing that the prosecutor has indicted him for.

It seems like Barrett's questioning really focused on why the State of Missouri was bringing the claim on behalf of MOHELA rather than just having MOHELA bring the claim itself. Based on that, I think it sounds like at least Barrett would think that the actual loan provider would have standing by claiming a loss in fees around servicing the forgiven loans.
Then again, they could find that Missouri, as the quasi owner of MOHELA, has an interest in protecting the private company they set up, and therefore has standing.
My gut tells me that this Court will find a way to strike down the policy, but I am closer to 50/50 based on the recent ruling, while in the past I would have been closer to 80/20 that it was struck down.

Sorry; "liable" for being a sexual abuser, but you would be correct as it wasn't a criminal trial, it's not a "conviction."
His organization was convicted of 17 felonies. Curiously, people aren't worried about a years' long fraud like this, but 2 years of Hunter evading and they go nuts.
I'd trade Trump's possible conviction on the espionage charges for an agreement not to run for office and the return of all the documents to the proper authorities.

I hope you Libs are happy about that and saving your money for higher taxes and higher inflation caused by a more large Fed deficit due to paying off rich kids college loans for them.
Sure, that’s a winning platform.

From a story from “The Spectator” authored by journalist Charles Lipson today Re: the IRS Whistleblower’s charges vs the Biden’s.
“ The biggest revelation in the Whistleblower’s testimony is a WhatsApp message, supposedly sent on July 20, 2017, from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao,( Chinese Communist Official) excoriating Zhao for missing a payment deadline. What makes the message so important is not its blunt threat, but its direct invocation of Hunter’s father as part of the business deal and part of the threat.
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled… And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”
When the message was sent, in summer 2017, Joe Biden was out of office but widely considered a leading candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination in 2020. He has, of course, repeatedly denied any knowledge of his son’s business dealings, much less any involvement or assistance. Those claims are belied by the direct testimony of one of Hunter’s business partners, Tony Bobulinski, who says he met jointly with Joe and Hunter. In addition, Hunter’s business partners made dozens of visits to the White House when Joe was in office and were sometimes photographed with the vice president. The cumulation of that evidence undermines Joe’s claims of complete ignorance. ”
By the way, the “missed” $5.1 million payment, that was eventually made, exactly matches an amount that Joe Biden conveniently left out of his government transparency reports.
Hmmm. Something appears very rotten in Delaware, and elsewhere.

Though facts and details on what exactly is going on are squarely in the fog of war right now, the ramifications could be quite profound, not only for Russia, but the world. Will this be 1993 or 1917?
