Ugh...a simple google search turned up plenty of stories regarding this from what you call MSM. Be better.
How it was reported is significantly different considering those two links are from far right sources and ABC and Washington Post are on the other spectrum.
My assumption based on that, and like most everything else, is that the actual story is somewhere in the middle.
OK, so I use Safari, but I’m game, maybe Google turned up something different. Nope. It was not reported by ABC, CBS or NBC. You just like to argue for the sake of arguing.

I'm going to the Netherlands next week to visit some friends. She has yet to mention this. This is the first I've heard of it.
Another friend I have from Australia, who contracted COVID while she was physically in Australia, didn't mention anything about being taken to an internment camp either.
I'm not saying there's NO truth to these stories. I'm just saying that PERHAPS they are somewhat exaggerated. Just a little bit. Maybe.
Either these things are happening or they are not. They are, and are not being reported. That is my only point.

Looks like some MSM is starting to take more notice in the Netherlands since police shot at a tractor a day ago. Attached is a pretty good article from the AP last week. From research I’ve done, seems like the more aggressive protests started around June 10th when the new regulations were proposed. Looks like protests actually started in fall of 2019.
What I don’t understand is why are they doing this to an extremely important part of their economy? Not to mention the millions who rely and consume these products. Oh yea, those jobs that will be affected as well.
What is known, this will have some impact on the 54,000 agricultural businesses and the billions of exports. What we don’t know is the actual impact on climate change. I’m all for helping the environment, but come on!

Exactly - that was my original point... Instead, we get into a pissing match on whether the facts come from right wing or left wing news outlets.
Apparently, some on this board have a hard time discerning facts from hyperbole, and therefore resort to labeling.... So sad that these people apparently were educated at Xavier but came away with an inability to think critically.

Just out of curiosity, were you lying when you took the exact same position as Larry Summers with regards to the reasons for inflation, while also blaming Trump, as somehow an example of you not being "FIRMLY on team LIB"?
I'll hang up and listen to your response....

Q:
That said, can you point to any posts here where you are not FIRMLY on team LIB?
A:

Wow, really, this is your one and only example that you can cite. You really went out on a limb here by not toting the liberal line.... versus the majority of all your other posts!
1) Hell, Larry Summers of the Obama admin said the same thing with regards to spending (which is really the main driver of inflation, but that's besides the point here).
2) "Basically the last 4-5 years Washington has effed up" - so you're blaming both Trump and Biden here.
How in the hell is this not agreeing with the libs???
There was not one main driver for the inflation we are experiencing today..there are a number of factors as to why we are experiencing this:
---interest rates being kept low while the economy was absolutely booming...causing real estate to absolutely soar----the bust was going to come, just a matter of when. Interest rates should have been risen years ago.
---Covid
---War in Ukraine
---Keystone Pipeline being shut down
---Pumping stimulus money out the wazoo into the country at a time that was not needed----which drove consumer spending at a time when there were supply issues.
Basically the last 4-5 years Washington has effed up at every single turn, and that is thru both administrations.

Are you a complete Neanderthal? Yes blaming both administrations, did I stutter? “ team lib” would just blame trump, I’m blaming both administrations because they are both complicit. they both unnecessarily pumped money into the economy when it was not necessary because neither wanted to be responsible for a recession and thus lose votes for them or for their party. That’s how politics works dumbass. Both handled Covid horribly, both were complicit in keeping interest rates artificially low.. Biden’s energy policies have been horrible by doing such things as shutting down the keystone pipeline which had a hand in causing oil to skyrocket when demand came back to normal. That’s not “ team lib,” it’s team not lou.

No shit sherlock. Your analysis might be correct, but you cited that as your best example of not being a lib. That was a fucking horrible example, proving either you're a congenital liar, or you truly are a lib because you have nothing else to show that you're not.

See, ol' ville here loves to play his little game of never taking a hard stand on anything, which he thinks gives him immunity from criticism. It's called plausible deniability.
The only reason ville comes on this thread is to argue for the sake of argument. You have no core values or core principals.

LOL! Joe Biden, your big hero, employs the exact same techniques you use – plausible deniability. He orders a commission to study packing the court – everyone knows that was the focus and the prime reason why he ordered it – but includes other topics of examination to hide his true intentions. And mindless simpletons like yourself believe it was a general review of the court.
Kind of funny that your only three sources of news all agree that the focus of the commission was to determine whether the Democrats could get away with court packing. All agree that was the prime reason for its creation. (as well as nearly every other news outlet...)
Seriously, good luck with your revisionist history on this.

So, your second paragraph is at the least extremely misleading, if not completely wrong. Where again did he say he wanted to pack the court like you said he wanted to? What about what you said in 13961 about ordering it to placate his base? Or, was that just another lie of yours? You lie so much you can’t even keep up with your own lies.
Your first paragraph is conjecture.

Why do so many people want to put labels on other people??
Most liberals I know think I'm a conservative and therefore they just dismiss anything I say. Most conservatives I know think I'm a liberal and therefore just dismiss anything I say. I try to not spend any time assessing it either way. It's actually amazing that I've managed to piss off people on both sides without really even trying. Just imagine if I ever put any effort into it!!
I think Biden is a terrible president that I would not vote for again. I also think Trump belongs in prison. I know damn well that most elected officials are not alpha examples of any sort of moral fortitude, but Trump really did raise the bar! He falsely accused his political opponents unethical and illegal behavior when the only person exhibiting that behavior was himself.
Biden is terrible. The Right has won. They will walk away with the midterms, the presidency, and the midterms after that, and basically control the House, Senate, and Presidency for the next decade. The only way this won't happen is if Trump runs and gets the nomination. And...THAT COULD STILL ACTUALLY HAPPEN!!
Now...I don't see why ANYBODY would feel good about our current situation. But, because of the labels that they put on themselves and that they put on other people, that's the primary focus, and that's one of the reasons why the shit show continues for season after season after season.

I think the people that do that are simple minded and extreme in their politics. They simply can’t put their head around the fact that many people actually agree with certain platforms on the right and the left side. To actually believe that everything that one side side says is right, and the other is wrong on every issue, is the most absurd and arrogant line of thinking. However, there are some on here and in real life that believe exactly that.

But I had no idea how low you would be prepared to go in pursuit of power. You call yourself a "constitutional lawyer." Josh Hawley is the world's largest tool. I am so thankful I was out of Mizzou prior to him joining the Faculty.

An uber-liberal professor who wrote a book on impeachment and whose entire twitter persona is regurgitating liberal talking points via a legal lens, thinks Josh Hawley is an idiot? Color me shocked! Using that professor to back up claims that Hawley is a tool is like quoting Lauren Borbert to drive home the narrative that Trump is the greatest POTUS of all time.

That whole thing is so effing stupid and a complete waste of time. Arguing about who can give birth and who can’t and arguing about what we should call people. Our government dollars hard at work ladies and gentlemen!
Yes 'ville, the stupidity and waste is unfathomable.
However, this is your party and these comical views have the entire left on board in support. There is an estimated .5% trans population in this country, yet somehow through the crazy "cancel culture" threat, their very small group of lobbyists leverage an enormous amount of influence over the Democrats and large corporations, to the point no one dares to push back one iota. This is exclusive to the left and the cowardice displayed is astounding.

This is not “my party,” and I’m talking about both sides of this stupid argument for the continued waste of time that this entire conversation and back and forth was. Honestly, I could care the hell less what people want to call themselves or how they should be defined. If it’s “people who can get pregnant” who gives a shit? Serious waste of time and there are way more important things government should be focused on. Frankly I’m very much in favor of government staying the hell out of any social issues and just working on getting foreign relations and our economy in check.
Also, and I’m sure you know this, but the left and the right have lobbyists that have an enormous amount of influence on both parties and large corporations. My brother was speaker of the house at the state level in the recent past… it’s scary the amount of control lobbyists have in this country.

I mean how will MSNBC and CNN fill their 24 news cycle? Maybe inflation, border or increase in crime?
Let’s just all agree Trump is a big piece of shit and move on with other pressing issues. Of course the Democrats need something to run on during the midterms. And yes, J6 is still a big stain but…

But, anyone here can see you don't vote Republican......you vote Democrat in National elections OR don't vote at all. So, you think because of what I post here in response to Lou’s ramblings, and that I think the government arguing about pronouns is a waste of time, that you know everything about my political leanings?
Imo both sides of this debate is stupid and is a direct reflection of how insane politics have become over the last decade or so. Government should be spending less time on bullshit like this, and more time on foreign relations and fixing the economy. That’s not “taking no ownership” it’s saying let’s stop arguing about stupid shit, and fix real problems.
I don’t vote for candidates based on social issues most of the time (unless there is an extremist on on side or the other) because frankly, I don’t give a shit. I don’t understand the transgender thing at all, and have a feeling that a lot of it could be mental health issues, but really who cares. Only issue I have with it is in sports but if stats are correct about the number of transgender people, then it’s never going to affect my childrens lives.

Happy to respond.
To your 1st point. The people that allow a man claiming to be a woman to be incarcerated with actual women seem to care....I know the convict cares. I wonder what the chances are he committed the crime identifying as a man? I wonder how many transgender "men" are insisting on placement in Men's prisons?
2- What little I know about women's menstrual cycles is all I want to know. But, 'ville these are early scientific studies attempting to extract info regarding Covid "vaccine" related side effects. You know, the kind that are normally made in the 6-8 years BEFORE FDA approval.
3- I assume you have biological female children and other loved ones. Maybe it won't "affect" them, but soon a guy in a dress will be doing his business in a Ladies Room near you.

"Testimony: China-backed cobalt mines in Congo exploit 40,000 child workers"
“On the backs of trafficked workers and child laborers, China exploits the vast cobalt resources of the DRC to fuel its economy and global agenda,” said Rep. Christopher Smith, R-New Jersey, who chaired the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission hearing July 14.
“The Chinese Communist Party’s quest for cobalt for batteries and lithium for solar panels to power the so-called Green Economy motivates human rapacity as an estimated 40,000 children in Congo toil in non-regulated artisanal mines under hazardous conditions,” Smith said.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) produces more than 70% of the world’s cobalt, 15% to 30% of which is produced in artisanal mines. For years, these small-scale operations have been notorious for human rights violations. The Council on Foreign Relations attributes the inhumane working conditions, in part, to the instability of the DRC, “a country weakened by violent ethnic conflict, Ebola, and high levels of corruption.”
Congolese civil rights attorney Hervé Diakiese Kyungu testified at the hearing that children are trafficked and exploited because of their small size.
The artisanal mines “are often no more than narrow shafts dug into the ground, which is why children are recruited — and in many cases forced — to descend into them, using only their hands or rudimentary tools without any protective equipment, to extract cobalt and other minerals,” he said.
One such mine located in Kasulo is owned by the Chinese company Dongfang Congo Mining, he said. Children are often exposed to radioactive minerals, injuries, and deadly and painful diseases as they work to extract the valuable ore.
“They are unremunerated and exploited and the work is often fatal as the children are required to crawl into small holes dug into the earth,” Kyungu testified.

I have no idea who Amanda Tyler is, but the head of the "Baptist" joint committee? One would assume that this group has a very large contingent of southern black churches. Southern Baptists are the predominate religious group south of the Mason/Dixon line.
For this leftist hack to weave in some sort of "white" nationalism narrative associated with ANY Baptist focused movement is disingenuous.

Y'all spend a lot of time attacking the messengers; be they posters (me), writers (people on various publications)...and as always, totally evade the issue presented.
There's a real problem in this country with militant white nationalism, and it's been integrated into parts of the evangelical movement to produce people who believe God somehow favors America over other nations. They go to great lengths with (mostly latter chapters) to use the Bible to support their claims.
When you mix religion, politics and occasionally guns...thing can go terribly wrong.
Try to reasonably address those concerns, which many on all sides share (as I've tried to point out with references)...and not the messengers.
If you can't do that, perhaps better to let this discussion die out.

I'm going to disagree. The fiery riots around the BLM protests were horrible, that was certainly true.
I hesitate to call some few people who decided to use the protests as cover to break into stores and loot, as "organized."
If you want to see real organized, follow the Justice Department's indictments of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who were highly organized, and dedicated to using "normies" to break into the Capitol and stop the peaceful transfer of power. It may even turn out they were organized with help from people close to the president like Stone and Bannon.

She said he was illegitimate because of the assistance he got from Russia.
But...that is far different that not conceding.
She conceded the election to him when she lost.
“Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country,” Clinton said. “I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans."
"We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead. Our constitutional democracy enshrines the peaceful transition of power. We don't just respect that; we cherish it," Clinton said of the GOP president-elect, who had refused to say many times during a very contentious campaign whether he would accept the results of the election should he lose.
You think the former president would ever be mature enough to do something like this? I sincerely doubt it.

“Some few people.” ——seriously? Just stop. Your preponderance to bitch and complain about one day and then basically gloss over the fact that blm is an organized group of destruction and grifters is ridiculous. Come to downtown Louisville and see what “ a few people” did. You are just the opposite extreme side of lou and Mid. I don't see any halos over anyone's head that breaks the law. I hope they get arrested, tried and convicted if they did the crime.
In terms of raw numbers, the looters seem to be very few versus the mass of people peacefully protesting with BLM.
Are there grifters in the BLM movement...I'm sure there are. There are grifters everywhere.
But protests over police brutality that turn into looting by fringe elements, in my mind are different than a coordinated effort to storm our Capitol to stop the Senate from counting the electoral college votes...putting a lot of lives in jeopardy.
One is a lawful protest about prior actions that gets way the hell out of hand, and the lawbreakers should be punished.
The other is an effort to halt the transfer of power, an American tradition and constitutional activity.

I have to disagree with this. Both Jan 6th and BLM riots were wrong and should be condemned. BLM riots were anything but peaceful. Hearing from law enforcement during multiple riots from Mike Brown, George Floyd, Brianna Taylor were anything but peaceful. From Mike Browns stepdad telling protesters to “burn the city down” to a majority of protesters spitting, throwing objects at police, and swearing at police, trying to steal their gear, burning police cars, assaulting officers, resisting arrest. I don’t call most of these riots as peaceful. Not including the fires, looting, and theft that occurred as well. Martin Luther King Jr. held peaceful protest. BLM do not hold peaceful protest.
You could also argue that most at the Jan 6th riot at the capital were peaceful protesting what they felt was an unfair election with a “small group” of people who went way to far storming the capital. I don’t see how BLM is right and Jan 6th was wrong. They both were wrong and anything but peaceful.
My point is that both were wrong but both are supported by either democrats and republicans. No accountability which means these type of events will continue to happen. Hold both sides accountable or there will continue to be no accountability which will lead to more issues with this country.

Exactly 'ville. What raw numbers?
In ALL the wide spread violent "protests" in nothing but Liberal controlled cities, the looters were simply poor inner city locals with zero interest in observing any laws and took full advantage of the chaos.
These were not the people DESTROYING Government facilities and BURNING Police precincts and vehicles. There is no "looting value" in those violent acts. Only a radical anti USA/anti Law Enforcement agenda perpetrated by the HIGHLY ORGANIZED and FUNDED BLM movement, along with the Antifa militants.
To shamelessly cite Poor Boys or Oath Keepers as having any thing close to the influence and money of the BLM cancer, is the definition of disingenuous. Take off your Woke/Blue goggles if possible.

Now they have to tie it into Christianity. Good grief. If I’m not mistaken, God is the bedrock to most religions? Hmmm. Deception at its best. Yeah, Paul. That even Republicans can be deceived by an elaborate hoax too isn’t the own you think it is. It is possibly Treason.
IMO this the most under talked about issue since it has become known that Hillary knew that the Russian collusion was fake. She created and condoned the story to spy on her opponent and to win the election. When that didn't happen she let the story grow to the point where a sitting president was very close to being impeached. Let that sink in. This was a political coup and it almost worked. Sure seems like treason to me.

The "dossier" was clearly bullshit. But that has nothing to do with Trump campaign people meeting with Russians in Trump tower, or Manafort sharing polling data that Russia used to influence Americans through Facebook. You may quibble about are those things "collusion", but credible people in intelligence and the Senate might call it that.
But Trump wasn't almost "ousted" for those as you note. He was impeached for his own actions with the Ukraine call and January 6th. If a few Republican senators would have stepped up like they did in Watergate, he would be gone for good instead of continuing to spread lies and nonsense.

As to them saying they won't take up other cases....they weren't going to take up Roe either.
Here's Thomas on the other things he wants to revisit/over turn.
Justice Thomas wrote his own concurring opinion, arguing that since the court has overturned the constitutional right to an abortion, which was grounded in the 14th Amendment and the due process clause, other cases that have been rooted in the same right to privacy could all be reconsidered.
Those include:
The Griswold v. Connecticut case from 1965 that said states couldn’t bar married couples from making private decisions about birth control use.
The Lawrence v. Texas case from 2003 that said states couldn’t criminalize consensual sexual relations between same-sex partners.
The Obergefell v. Hodges case from 2015 that legalized same-sex marriage.
“For that reason, in future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell,” Thomas wrote.
Thomas also wrote of the Dobbs case that “The resolution of this case is thus straightforward. Because the Due Process Clause does not secure any substantive rights, it does not secure a right to abortion.”
Inter-racial marriage is grounded on the same legal theory as those cases. The fact that he leaves it out isn't a red herring. It's quite telling.

Thomas’ opinion is one of 9 and the court has no interest in those other cases. The opinions of those 9 do not remove or codify Rights. If you’re referencing the 5th, reread it. It does not apply to any of these cases. The best argument is the 9th or 14th but the 9th is answered by the 10th. So the 14th, not the 5th is a better discussion than privacy.
As to a Right to privacy, You currently don’t have it. Ask the Jan 6th protestors identified thru geo-location. That, may not pass a 5th challenge.
A Federal “law” does not codify a Right, only an Amendment does.

Once you get past 15 weeks, or the first trimester, 65% of Americans oppose abortion. And France bans it after 12 weeks.
The Mississippi law called for a post 15 week ban. So no. The “majority” of Americans do not oppose the opinion as it was based on Mississippi.

Just curious. My memory is that his letter has been used to uphold the separation of church and state, protecting the freedom of religious expression.
In Everson v. Board of Education (1947), which first applied the First Amendment’s establishment clause to the states, the Supreme Court relied on Jefferson’s metaphor in announcing a strict standard of separation between church and state.
Justice Hugo L. Black concluded his opinion for the Court’s majority with the pronouncement that “[t]he First Amendment has erected a wall between church and state. That wall must be kept high and impregnable. We could not approve the slightest breach. New Jersey has not breached it here.”
When has it been used to trample the free expression of religion?

That's keeping religion and state things separate. Exactly what the ruling pointed out.
You put the religious symbol of one religion on a government building, you have state (the government) sponsoring a religion.
You align the government with that religion to the exclusion of others.

The current 6-week ban in Ohio makes it illegal to perform an abortion once a fetus has a heartbeat. So still legal if no heartbeat is detected. Hence - the heartbeat bill.
As for exceptions in rape cases, this is true. However, in the case of the 10 year old, she would most likely qualify for a medical condition because of her age and build.

I would never suppose to put my believe on some one else. Heck, 150 years ago the church supported abortion up to 6 or 7 weeks. Now it's changed.
I for darn sure wouldn't keep women who were in danger of making the choice for their health...that's their and their doctor's choice. Not some state they may live in today and not tomorrow.
I'm certainly against the state telling the woman what to do, regardless of what I believe. If she has been raped or a victim of incest, she should choose.
Not the state. Any state.
Women will suffer now as "states" figure out what to do. They are being asked to suffer ectopic pregnancies and partial miscarriages until they are in danger, because the doctors are afraid of the legal community. We have not served the well being of women with this latest ruling.

That's keeping religion and state things separate. Exactly what the ruling pointed out.
You put the religious symbol of one religion on a government building, you have state (the government) sponsoring a religion.
You align the government with that religion to the exclusion of others.
The White Nationalists will love you.
No you don’t Paul. Other symbols can be put up and have been on Gov’t property.
Banning prayer is exactly what I’m talking about which you avoided.
No, they wouldn’t Paul. I’m not a fan of them but luckily I’ve never seen or heard of them except your posts. Same goes for Q (only know about it because you and a few others are obsessed by it).

Banning prayer is a interesting issue. The Senate has a chaplain.
In the Navy, we had chaplains of all different faiths, and you could go to a service of your faith.
Putting a religious symbol of one faith on a government building to the exclusion of others, seem to be favoritism that is problematic.
You may not know white christian nationalists, but just listen to those in congress. They would love just a Christian country.
Not sure if that is helpful.

There is now law banning other religions from putting up symbols. The Satanists have had displays at court houses for some time.

Hi Paul, I edited my post to reflect what I meant. Thanks for correcting the "no Chaplain" comment.
I listened to the video. I don't think she meant we need to be a Christian nation. She said, as Republicans, we need to be Nationalists (America first) and Christians. Then said we need to be Christian Nationalists (which was a really inarticulate way of saying what she meant but that's MTG).
She also said nothing about "white" unless YOU think all Christians are white. Which is really stupid.
Again, are you at attempting to tie Christianity to "white" nationalism?

Down where I live they tried the states' rights issue, much to the country's pain in the 1800's.
There are some issues the constitution should cover for all people. People disagree on a lot of them, and privacy is a tough one.

“States” are “figuring out what to do” based upon what the people’s elected representatives will decide what to do from their constituent’s wishes. That sounds an awful like what “Democracy” is rather than the people being ruled by some dictate by some unelected party- which is awful like a “Dictatorship”.
Which of those two scenarios sound like Democracy is in Danger? Hmmmm.
And, ok. Let’s see if California or New York wish to secede from the Union over this issue. Not quite the same, but you do you

For some reason I was intrigued by Paul’s fascination using the term white Christian nationalist, so I did a little research on where it came from. Surprise surprise it started in academia and is now being touted by MSM.
My guess is because of the J6 hearing, Trump, and his followers are discussed a lot. Also, it ties nicely into Republicans are well you know racists, xenophobic, and homophobic who hide behind and distort Christianity. Finally, they think SCOTUS is ruling based off religion vs the Constitution.
The names that are most vocal about this conspiracy are Philip Gorski (Paul’s attached article and went to Berkeley), Samuel Perry (both professors in sociology - shocker indeed), and Kristin Du Mez (professor in history and gender studies). All have written books about it and are now quoted or guests on MSM. BTW, their Twitter followers are quite the echo chamber and progressive.
Amazing how people continue to label a class of people based off their own beliefs. Oh yeah, you’re right, MTG is a loon.

Andrew Yang, along with Former NJ Governor Whitman are actively recruiting candidates for their "Forward" party.....predicting to be on ballots in all 50 states by 2024. I guess they could generate more support than the Green Party, IF their platform can present common sense solutions to the "fundamentally change America" agenda that is destroying the current Democratic Party. Also, if they could avoid any strong stance on these ridiculous social issues would be a huge plus.
Let's say they can communicate an agenda that appeals to independants and moderates on both sides. I suppose they could approach double digit support in some elections that matter. Let's say Yang can get himself on the ballot in all 50 states for POTUS in 2024 and campaigns heavy on say, a secure boarder policy or a pro Law enforcement platform, he could easily get 8/9% of the electorate. Especially if it's Trump/Biden 2.0.
If that happened, which traditional ticket would it hurt more?

That's a great question. Both parties are likely looking for 'real' alternatives. Both parties also have a large rabid base for whom it will not matter. It could come down to two factors. First how "realistic" the voters see any 3rd party and who starts to campaign more toward the center. Although the Dems seem to have a better track record of campaigning more toward the center (and then, of course, legislating to the left). I don't know. It seems more lately even the Dems are all in on the Progressive agenda come-what-may. And Trump....not sure he ever pulled a punch.

Banning prayer in schools and gov't buildings.
Ask a couple of bakeries
Removal of religious symbols from gov't buildings
To name a few.
There is no law banning other religions from putting up symbols. The Satanists have had displays at court houses for some time.
You have stumbled into the right answer. The first amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"
To comply with the above, the position of the government has to be completely neutral and evenly applied as to all religions. So if you want Christian symbols in a government building, that is fine but you have to allow every other religion to also have their symbols (hence the Satanists you referenced).
Or if you do not want to allow it, that is also fine so long as you ban everything. You can likely have prayer in school, but you have to allow it for all religions, which I would imagine would take some time to get through in the morning announcements.

Except that isn't what the Court held. The Court held that the school wrongly punished the coach for engaging in a quiet moment of prayer by himself, holding a government employee could not be prohibited from engaging in quiet prayer so long as he wasn't acting in his official role. (I actually agree with the rule they established, but think they just completely ignored the actual facts of this case).

I was reading about our countries obesity epidemic in the Covid thread, and it prompted me to post a related disaster here.
Was listening to some talk radio on a road trip yesterday and they were discussing how ALL branches of our military are woefully lacking in signing new recruits. Stated that numbers are as high as 40% less than the Pentagon wants, year to date.
Now that's troubling enough, but this is very disturbing.
They cited a recent study that found, I think they said, only 30% of eligible aged recruits are healthy enough to meet enlistment requirements. Stated that obesity is the main driver in making 7 of 10 ineligible...... also mentioned mental health issues.
Now get this, evidently the study polled a group of young people in the 30% that would be eligible to serve and only 10% would consider the military a good option. Said the remaining 20% stated a variety of reasons for not considering, but the current "Woke Policies" at the Pentagon were among them.
Does anyone else think this is among the most serious problems we face, considering the increasing Global threats to America on Biden's watch?

Now get this, evidently the study polled a group of young people in the 30% that would be eligible to serve and only 10% would consider the military a good option. Said the remaining 20% stated a variety of reasons for not considering, but the current "Woke Policies" at the Pentagon were among them.
Does anyone else think this is among the most serious problems we face, considering the increasing Global threats to America on Biden's watch?
Very much so. The problem is that this generation has never truly been threatened and are soft as marshmallow fluff.
9/11 was a one day “happening” not a true war or threat. The wokes have created “threats to democracy”, “threats to the climate” and “threats to their person through unsafe words”. I hate to say it, but unless some major sustained true threat starts, this society here is gonna just melt.

Speaking of a "true threat"......Pelosi landed in Taiwan a little while ago. There is so much Global tension right now. Things haven't been this scary in a very long time.

100% If I were China, I'm taking Taiwan before 2024.
This country is in the process of committing suicide in so many ways.

Spot on Lou. Anyone with their head out of the sand can see that. The confounding question is, how does any rational person support all the progressive left policies that make this possible?
As usual, we will hear crickets from our leftist friends here.

Guess you mean we should not be supporting taiwan's democracy. Typical. Nothing new here. China has been threatening to take over for 70 years.

Heck no. Then we'd have a war with China.

Exactly. The USA can not win any war with Red China. Do you not realize that they know we are completely impudent under Biden and ALL global military interests are ripe for the pickins? Does any of this reality not concern you?

Maybe if it's over Taiwan just off their shores (which I pray we would never do) but ANY war? Come on, they are where we were after the Cold War technologically.
This certainly seems like pure vanity from Nance. Best "logical" excuse I could come up with is this is a way to prod them over bankrolling Russia. That said I certainly wouldn't mind cooler relations with China, bring production back onshore, solves a lot of our globalization induced problems long-term.

I meant any Military war.
But for sure the USA has them by the balls economically. In that war, they are so dependent on cheap goods sold in Wal-Mart and our "Dollar stores".
If a buy American mindset could develop OR increased tariffs become pervasive, they will take a major hit.

I mean a military war too. I’m no expert but can’t imagine a scenario where they’re headcount advantage makes up for our unrivaled arsenal and technology.

Man, I hope you are correct. But reality as I see it, is they do an extremely well job of keeping their military tech advantage nicely cloaked. As far as Arsenal goes, they are methodically smoking us as we speak.

Pretty sure we'd be at least as fucked as them in a trade war. Probably more.

Huh? Their entire economy is dependent on stupid Americans buying their disposable crap products, knowing we will simply buy them again when they fail. Every buy a Chinese made tool?

Which has zero to do with the Supreme Court.
Pay attention.
By the way quit being a racist over a black man winning a well run Republican primary election. Finchem won fair and square.
When will Stacy Abrams concede?

When will trump concede. Finchem is an ex-cop from Mi. “Retired, poor rating, would not rehire.” He loves the big lie. If elected, he will fix the election in AZ. Another election denier who loves the Oath Keepers and Qanon and he only got 41%.
