Join Xavier Men’s and Women’s Basketball as they tip-off the 2016-17 season at Musketeer Madness presented by Wing Eyecare.

The Madness starts with Fan Fest on the Plaza at 4:30 PM with inflatables, corn hole, music and much more! Fans will have the chance to get autographs from men’s and women’s basketball team members from 4:30 – 5:15 PM.

Doors open at 5:00 PM. The first 1,500 fans and 500 students in attendance will receive an exclusive Musketeer Madness presented by Wing Eyecare t-shirt. The first 500 Xavier students will again be extra-close to the excitement. The first 5 rows on the east and west sides of the arena will be reserved for students. Ticket information for students will be sent via email.

The Madness continues inside at 6:00 PM with team introductions, skill competitions and intra-squad scrimmages from both teams. In between team introductions, 3 students will be randomly selected to take a half-court shot for a chance to win books next semester, courtest of the Xavier University All For One Shop.

The 2016-17 X-Shirt will be available for purchase for $20 on the concourse near the Xavier University All For One Shop inside Cintas Center. ONE NIGHT ONLY - Xavier students with valid ALL Cards can purchase the 2016-17 X-Shirt for a $4 discount. This year a portion of each sale will be donated to the Upspring, a non-profit located in Cincinnati.

not sure if i will go or not, the only thing i think worth seeing is the scrimmage, all that other stuff doesn't really appeal to me.

If my nieces want to go, will be there. If not I don't know that I'll drive down by myself.

Definitely going... can't wait. Very interested to see the newcomers and the development of Trevon, Kaiser and Sean-O in the offseason.

heard they wont be doing the typical scrimmage as usual, since there are only 7 healthy scholarship bodies.

It's great to finally be back in the Cintas, What's up with the lights? We're about to have a seizure up in the 2nd level.

I'm going to need a full report from someone.

Reps will flow.

It's 54 degrees and clear skies in Cincinnati. Does that help?

I just hope it's fun and no one gets hurt. Do we have recruits there???

Ed takes home the dunk contest with a FT line dunk after missing the first attempt. Tyrique Jones with a couple nice dunks, Goodin had a great 1st dunk but didnt advance

The scrimmage went far too quickly for my taste, but it was fun to watch.

O'Mara and Gaston both on the blue team and they looked very comfortable next to each other. Jones on the opposite side competed and looked really good for a freshman. I thought they each looked pretty quick and mobile for bigs, actually. O'Mara was aggressive around the basket a couple times, just like we need him to be. I'm excited to see what he can do this year!

Macura was his confident self, working to get driving lanes in pretty tight quarters. If he can handle the ball better on drives I think we're going to see some fun hoops.

Sumner hit a nice looking 3 pointer and no complaints on the stroke. (Unlike Gaston, who competed in the 3 pt contest. Scary looking stroke from distance.)

Goodin had a couple nice shots. None of the scholarship guys looked lost, at all. Very sharp, which hasn't been the case at the past few of these events. (I think) Stainbrook turned the ball over on a bad dribble. Another kid out there just looked a little concerned he wouldn't be plowed over.

Gates was selected as a judge for the dunk contest. He hinted to the crowd that he was injured, but didn't get into it. Said something nervous like he hopes he'll be able to dunk again someday. Not good to hear, but understandable right now. It'll all work out!
