Xavier University men's basketball head coach Chris Mack (http://goxavier.com/coaches.aspx?rc=193) welcomed graduate transfer Malcolm Bernard (http://goxavier.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4103), a 6-6 and 195-pound forward from Middleburgh, Fla., to the Musketeer basketball family this semester. Bernard decided to use his final year of eligibility at Xavier. Bernard, who recently graduated from Florida A&M University, will be eligible to play in the 2016-17 season while beginning work on his master's degree program in sport administration.

It says defense is a specialty. At 6-6 he fits in that positionless system Mack is moving to.

Does a positionless system mean we are just short on bigs? I do think Sean qualities as a 5 only.

It doesn't say defense is his specialty (it's not). It says he was Top 10 in steals.

Good news, though I was under the impression it was already official. Oh well..... One more thing I didn't know.

It pretty much was. But there's no NLI for transfers. Not sure what the significance of today was. 1st day of class? End of drop/add period?

Positionless basketball is what Xavier and a whole bunch of schools are moving towards.
