Gold Star is better than Skyline. Most of Cincinnati feels differently. Most of Cincinnati is wrong. How can that be?? Well, most of Cincinnati is wrong about most things. I rest my case!!

PRCs. Although that one was often drunk food so maybe that's why I enjoyed it more.

Lived in P Ridge for 13 years. Enjoyed PRC but Skyline is my favorite. I also like Gold Star. Dixie Chili is one of my top picks. Gladdenguy probably likes Price Hill Chili, and I would also throw Camp Washington in there too. Some may say Empress, but I've only had it canned and didn't love it.

Skyline is the best, and I like Camp Washington Chili too. I have had Empress a few times in the past couple of years and it is not at the top of my list.

It's all good to me. Gold Star is more spicy and Skyline is sweeter. I prefer spicy but like I said, It's all good.

I like the one closest to me when I get the craving for a coney.

Skyline, hands down. Its my favorite food, I eat it way more than I should. I like Empress, but you need to go to an actual Empress restaurant, not a restaurant that buys and sells their chili.

I prefer actual chili which means both Skyline and Gold Star don't qualify. Been living here since 1984, and tried each exactly once.

Skyline's menu is better, but Gold Star is BY FAR the best chili.

Cincinnati chili and, say, Texas chili, are separate species, but both fall within Genus Chilius. I make a couple different types of pretty good chili at home, but still love my Skyline. Two totally different meals.

All chili is good. Prefer Goldstar as it's more like a rounchier Zinfandel than Skyline, a well-balanced Merlot. Best recipe is found here (http://www.runtoo.org/chili/chili.html).

While at Xavier, at 4AM, after finishing ... err studying, a trip up into Norwood to Eva's to have chili's with the GM workers getting off shift is one of my favorite memories. Pauline would pile on some extra cheese ... that was the best.

Lol I know it was excellent around 3-4am while hammered, but aside from that I can't vouch for it.

I'm fine with both Skyline and Gold Star, slightly prefer Skyline. When I lived in Cincy, I went to Skyline more often because I worked and lived closer to one.

Bout 5 years ago or so, I tried to visit as many places that served Cincy Chili as possible. Think I got to about 30 places. Some of the Non Skyline/GS parlors I liked:

Price Hill
Camp Washington
Dixie
Pleasant Ridge
Chili Time

My wife and I did a blind taste test a number of years ago. We both preferred Gold Star. However, whenever we've been out of town, we stop at the neighborhood Skyline for our first meal back.

I've always thought Skyline is way too soupy, so I tried it dry, not so much a fan. Like Goldstar, but cannot beat the chili I get at the firehouse. There's one guy who could legitimately open up a parlor, he's won national competitions. Can't wait to try to introduce my new neighbors to Cincy Chili.

I like Texas chili at home in the fall and winter but locally l prefer Skyline. I think all the local places are good. It's hard to screw up chili.

If you have to settle for canned Skykine or GoldStar as I do, it's best not to ever read the can (nutritional facts) That's before the pasta, cheese and oyster crackers.
