So usa is losing to Australia right now at the half. Slim chance I know but if the usa does lose, go ahead and expect durant to join the aussies tomorrow.

Now that it's pros, does anyone really give a shit about USA Basketball?

Australia is the first team that the USA has faced that actually has a pulse - do Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills and Matthew Delladova ring a bell?
Even their bench has a familiar face in former SLU guard Kevin Lisch.

I thought Lisch was a St. Louis local?

They've had a few other Aussies on their team; they also had Ian Vouyoukas who was on the Greek national team when they joined the A-10.

It's possible - I think he also had a sister who played at SLU as well.

Eh...for some reason in team events when the usa is favored by so much, it's hard to care all that much. I think I'd feel the same way if they were college athletes. In single events, I like to see the dominance by Phelps, Ledecky but for team sports, it is just boring.

It's like cheering for the Soviets in 1980 in Lake Placid.

Gotta blame that on Coach K scheduling some cupcakes early on in the season. Still pulled it out though.

Oh Carmelo Anthony. How underappreciated you are, good sir. If only the average person realizes how freakin' good you are at basketball.

He got out before Crooked Hillary took office. Smart.

Watching this brutal.
They out to mix in more college players to make this more interesting.

It would be funny to watch if Grayson Allen were on the team and tried to trip an opposing player in the Olympics. They won't tolerate that like the NCAA refs do.

Are they allowed to do that with college coaches on the roster??

Yes. We have often had college players in national team competitions. And nearly the entire national team staff is composed of college coaches.
