6'11" of Ft Wayne IN, #32 ranked nationally, has knocked X off of his list. His final 8 are IU, Purdue, Georgetown, UCLA, NC State, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan St.

X is still not quite there to getting these very highly ranked players, while the Georgetown brand still shines despite our relative thrashing of them recently.

Hopefully he will go to Georgetown, lose to us a bunch and learn to regret his choice (ahem, DSR, ahem).

Trevon was ranked #30 by Scout. Semaj was top 30 I believe. Xavier is a consensus leader for Paul Scruggs who is ranked #37 (and as high as mid-20's on other sites) and also in the mix for Kris Wilkes who is easily Top 20. They are also considered in the lead for multiple other guys in the #50 range (although I know your point was "very highly ranked players")

Also, not to say things wouldn't have ended the same way, but I do not believe that Malik Williams was made a priority by Xavier's staff based on what I have read.

Exactly. Xavier has just recently started enjoying the type of success that Georgetown has had for 30 years, and as a result they're just now starting to recruit the type of players Georgetown has been recruiting.

Who has Gtown brought in in the last 20 yrs that knocks our socks off---not counting DSR?

Not to mention, while I have not followed the recruitment close, but from what I have read GTown is not an actual consideration even if they made the top 8.

Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert went to a Final 4. Greg Monroe was pretty damn good.

Parlor--I was talking about high ranking recruits. I grew up in the DC area--Green was an All-Met in hi-school, so he definitely wasn't chopped liver--but I don't think he was a top 150 player. Hibbert , on the other hand, was a STIFF coming out of Georgetown Prep. JTIII nicknamed him, the Big Stiff, (maybe it was JT) and he wasn't highly recruited because he was tripping over his own feet. To his credit, he worked really hard to be the player he became.(He was 2nd team all-met also, but he was playing in a small private school league and was 8 feet tall!!)

Georgetown recruits multiple T100 players most years which is something we've only recently started doing and something we've only done a handful of times. They've had significantly more Top 50 players than us and have had the occasional consensus 5 star, which we still haven't landed. To answer your actual question, DaJuan Summers, Greg Monroe, Austin Freeman, and Isaac Copeland were all Top25 players which we have yet to land.

Malik William just committed to Clemson, per his coach Anthony Rick.

I wouldn't say as much that he knocked X off his list. Recruitments go both ways.

Fair points all.

This is true. But in fairness, staffs often back off when they feel they don't have much of a shot and their continued recruitment would be a waste of time and/or could hinder other recruitments.

And to help sum up how bad ESPN recruiting coverage has gotten, they still have the Ft. Wayne Malik Williams as having committed to Clemson.
