All of the talent in the world, a ton of bad choices made by the kid.

This is really too bad. He probably should have stayed another year and been the star of his team. Really unfortunate cause he was a really good player.

On the list of things he should have done differently, not shooting a guy who is running away over a cell phone should be quite high on the list as well. People really grow up in a way that allows for this kind of behavior. That is horribly sad.
For those of us who dont know who this guy is or what connection he has to Xavier bball, some help please.

Former St Johns PG who left after his sophomore year despite not having much of a chance in the NBA. Also believe X was in his final 5 coming out of HS

Yup X was pretty close to landing him if I remember, just a stupid decision by a young kid, I can't really justify it, so much potential in the world lost. Always hurts to see people wasting talent man.

If I'm not mistaken he was ruled academically ineligible and that led to him be finished.

Awful. North Philly is not a good place to be right now.

How much would be enough? I see people with money make stupid decisions all the time as well.

And wouldn't it make it more likely that he wouldn't have set up a robbery if he had money?

I'm guessing no.

Eh, even if he had been paid, eventually the money would run out and he'd have been robbing a guy at gun point for sports memorabilia or something in a Vegas hotel.

Very sad. So many people feel trapped in the inner city and don't know another way.

The thing is an athlete gets meal money when they are away from school and they keep whatever they don't spend, they are eligible for $6,500 Pell grant which can be used anyway a person wants and they are allowed to work. At X, many of the he players work the basketball camps and they get paid.
