I think for me it was Xavier vs Purdue when Holloway just went bonkers. Everyone was pretty much non-stop cheering for the last 7 minutes.

I've only been going the last two seasons, but I would say this year's Shootout. It just edged out the Villanova game, in my opinion.

That was my first and only game back at the 'Tas since I graduated in 2003 and that crowd was amazing. I went to a lot of games during my time there but noise-wise non seemed to really match up to that game and its 18 point comeback. Glad I picked a good one to go to.

I'm going UC '99. UMass '96 was also very loud, but it was a Sunday afternoon game. UC in '99 was a Saturday night game, so the crowd had more time to "prepare".

By far...most electric game in Xavier history.
Dickie V was in the house...EVERY bucket was cheered like a go ahead bucket late in the game...it was UC...it was a true David vs. Goliath matchup as no one had given us a chance to win...Kenyon Martin was probably most hated Bearcat ever (and still is)...national audience...didn't just storm the court, but there was NOTHING keeping them from storming the court.
It honestly was one of the best nights ever.

Ive been to every home game the last 4 seasons and most of the big games the 7-8 years before that and to me the loudest Ive ever heard Cintas was after JPs 2nd three in 30 seconds that lead to a Villanova timeout. @ 2:40 in this video below

Really? Of all the criminals to choose from.
Anyway, the Bearcat/Nova game was one of the best one in years. I'm not old enough to recall games in the 90s-beyond.
Anyway, does anybody remember the DWest game vs ud in 2003, I'd imagine that was one of the best crowds in Cintas history

Yup diddo, I remember being in the student section drunk as hell yelling at people who were thinking about leaving, and then Holloway just started going off, after that 360 3 or whatever, I lost my voice.

Been season ticket holder since Cintas opened and there's been plenty of loud games. I recall UC games, ud games and others that were rocking. But, none compare to beating #1 Villanova this past season. It was so loud and raucous that hearing the person next to me speaking was nearly impossible. People standing nearly the entire game and the noise over those last seconds when the when was inevitable was unbelievable. I hadn't heard anything like that night before and am hard pressed to think I will again anytime soon in the future.
The loudest single outburst I heard was when the refs were looking at the replay of DWest's buzzer beater basket against GW. They looked at the replay for what seemed like forever, while the Xavier faithful stood around in quiet hope that it counted. Once the decision was made, the ref merely turned from the monitor, blew his whistle and signaled basket good. The crowd went from quiet to frenetic in an instant. Hobbs fell face first onto the court in disbelief.

At the buzzer and we stormed the court. Cops came to Dana's afterward with the K-9s. The Musketeer, Bob[?] Rice, playfully pulled his sword and the hound was released and bit him.
Bob died in Vietnam less than 2 years later.
Still my favorite game and very loud!

I do think the Umass game was the loudest and UC game where X scored like 8 points in a minute w/ Jump'in Jamal leading the way in comeback victory. My memory is fuzzy due to the Mad Dog we snuck in but Huggs was PISSSED!.

Cintas opened my junior year. I always thought that the Gardens was more loud more often than Cintas, and that game against Cincinnati in 1999 was probably the most electric X game that I was ever at. That being said, I wasn't at Nova this year, and everyone who I know who was at both said that Nova was more electric. I almost never get to go to home games anymore, and when I do it's generally a buy game over Christmas Break, so it's not a fair comparison. But, from what I've been told Cintas has really stepped up the electricity to where it's crazier than the old Gardens.

UC 99 and Princeton 99 would have been my two. Covered here pretty well. At Cintas, I would say the Dayton game in 2003 or UC in 2004 (by the way, just looked at the box score...Chalmers and Sato played 79 minutes...http://basketball.realgm.com/ncaa/boxscore/2004-02-03/Cincinnati-at-Xavier/31630).

(I was not at any Shootouts prior to 2000) I'd put all of the following a notch below the Nova game:
-a couple of the Shootouts between 2000 and 2015
-DWest 47 pts against UD game
-Tu comeback vs Purdue game

Obviously we all could have done without the fight, but to be honest, other than Nova this season, I haven't heard it louder than the arena wide chants with Tu on the scorers table and the Xavier team waiting on the floor to go back through the tunnel.

Not really. It was definitely louder this year, probably thanks to having a great team, but still wasn't anywhere near Gardens level raucousness.
In regards to another post, post-brawl may very well be the loudest it's ever been. That was crazy. And then on the way out you knew it would be bad. Sure enough, ESPN made Mount Everest out of a molehill
I was at that Purdue game, and don't remember it being off the chain loud. I do remember telling a Purdue fan behind me who had been gloating about the game to go F himself.
I remember the X v Loyola Marymount game as being very loud as the score changed every 10 seconds.

'94 Shootout ("Handshake game") - I was @ 15 rows up midcourt with a near perfect view of the non-handshake
'96 vs. UMass (they were #1 that year with Marcus Camby & Lou Roe)
As far as @ Cintas:
'02 vs. Creighton on New Year's Eve - Sat in the student section w. my future wife. No, the crowd was slightly louder than she was
'15 Shootout - for certain times it was pretty loud but not consistently the whole game as in past shootouts - perhaps that's because we now expect to dispose of our lesser cross-town rival or perhaps it's because I lost the hearing in my right ear (perhaps from going to so many shootouts or perhaps from listening to my now current wife).

UC game in 99 was loud but even being a Sunday afternoon game the crowd for the 96 UMass game was electric. The pre-game energy in that place was amazing and there was a definite buzz in the crowd watching Camby and crew warming up for UMass. It was the only time I remember the crowd being 4-5 deep ringing the court at floor level watching UMass warm up. I remember thinking this place hadn't felt a buzz like this since the Beatles played there in 66!
One game I have not seen mentioned was the NIT game against Ohio State in 84 or 85? That crowd smelled blood and was extremely happy to watch the Muskies take down the big boys from "The" State U!
