Have not stayed real up to date this year but didn't Trevon and Jalen declare with the option to return? If so why is neither players name listed at the combine?

Neither of them was invited.

Also, Jalen signed with an agent so he is officially gone. I think I remember reading that Bluiett will be working out with the Celtics this upcoming weekend.

Makes sense for Blueitt guy can't create his own shot and his feet are too slow right now. Puzzles me for jalen though a big guy with big wing span who can run wasn't invited? I wonder why?

He's not a big guy with a big wing span anymore.

He may have been that in college, but in the NBA most 6 '9 guys play on the wing.

Only 63 guys on the list. You think Jalen should be in over any of them?

No I don't I am not saying that at all. Really just trying to understand his decision to go though. At his age I definitely get it but if there is no NBA shot then does that mean he left early to play overseas? He will still make great money in Europe but I never heard of a guy leaving early to play pro overseas by choice. And I don't count the kid who chose Europe over college lol

Jalen hired an agent. Trevon did not.

I know he did just wondering if he hired an agent to just think about going overseas. Do you think he is planning on taking the Hassan whiteside route?

8 teams shot over 2200 3 pointers in the NBA this year. Last year, only one - guess who? Post guys will have a hard time now unless they can shoot 3's.

You do realize almost everyone on here recognizes he can't and that is why he is coming back to X. It's why he disappeared at times in games cause he is a wonderful system player but 1v1 not so much. I don't think anyone on here would say Bluiett could create his own shot vs Durant, D. Green, Paul George or other small forwards

But I don't want this to become a debate on whether he can or can not create his own shot. I'm not getting this thread high jacked. So back on subject... would you say Jalen made a mistake or do you think going to Europe was the plan all along? Great money to be made over there is why I am asking

Not in the NBA

Jalen is probably physically ready for the NBA, but so are hundreds of other players that didn't make it. An agent can spend the time, and have the contacts necessary, to find him a position overseas. Since he is graduating this year, and is no longer really young, can you blame him for wanting to get on with his career? His playing days are numbered so he might as well go make the money while he can. Chances are that even if he did come back and play another year of college ball he still wouldn't be NBA ready, and what if he got hurt? He came to college, had a decent career, got his degree, and is moving on. Nothing wrong with any of that.

I'm not talking about in the NBA. At the collegiate level he creates his own shot just fine. Just because he doesn't go in isolation dribbling the shot clock down does not mean he can't create his own shot.

How many times do you see that head fake step back shot? Is that not creating something?

A great deal of the early entry players take this route.

Not in the least bit. An athelete has a finite time to make money unless your name is jaromire jagr. I'll never rip a kid for going to make money ever. It just makes me scratch my head when I see him seemingly not even try for the NBA. Maybe he plays in Europe develops a jumper and a left handed lay up. Do that and maybe he gets a shot in a couple years

We are talking about the NBA combine so yes we are talking about creating your own shot against NBA players. He can't do that at this point but another 1 or 2 years can change that

What does this even mean?

He didn't get invited to the combine.

What would you suggest he do? Show up anyway?

Yeah, its clear nasdadjr has a huge misunderstanding with both these players. Pretty much every Xavier fan recognizes the situation. Always get a good laugh out of his posts though.

What led you to believe he didn't try for the NBA? He didn't get invited to the combine, plain and simple.

Jalen graduated. And he didn't want to be a college student anymore. He understood he may not get his dream job. It's not all that complicated.
