Wait, wait, what? So getting drunk and mooning people in public is no longer acceptable behavior?!?? Good to know. Good to know....

Got a text from a close friend (and XU alum). He talked to someone who was at the bar last night and witnessed the incident.....if what he was told is accurate, I think everyone needs to hold off and wait for the facts to come out. Specifically, JP wasn't drunk and his pants didn't even go down past his boxers. My buddy was told JP got a raw deal by getting arrested...and as a previous post said, the cops weren't called. There was one working there last night.
So he wasn't caught with his pants down? Sorry - what do you expect 7 pages into a thread when most to the comedy gold's already been mined?

I feel bad for JP, as many have said, but this will be something he laughs about at class reunions. It seems as though it was some harmless shenanigans. He will pay the price, and will be able to have this expunged. It will not ruin his career, and he should survive just fine.
Once the dust settles, I see our fans embracing the event and celebrating with "no pants" night at the Cintas. Wouldn't be surprised if Byron started calling him "The Other Myles" or "The Fox" or "McLovin" or some other witty nickname. He better learn to live with (if not embrace) the jabs he will face. From what I've seen of JP, he will take this in stride, learn from it, and use it as fuel to kick more ass next season.
Mack will have some creative punishment, the system will take its course, he will pay his debt and move on with his life. I bet his 21st birthday will be a good time, and I expect he will avoid RP's while celebrating. At least I hope so...

My 7 year old plays house sometimes and is always married to JP when she does. Or she shoots hoops outside and when we play games, she's JP or Tre. JP is her favorite player as well. We have no plans on addressing this with her unless she brings it up. Then we'll cross that bridge. If another kid brings it up in class I'm sure she'll handle it the same way she handled it when some kid was razzing her about her love of Xavier. He, the other kid, told her that he was cheering for Weber St. and Wisconsin to beat X. She responded with "That's okay. Nobody's perfect and we all make mistakes."
As a mother, I commiserate with JP's mom because I'm sure that mugshot and accompanying story made her want to die, kill her son and hug him all at the same time. She's who I feel sorriest for at this point, as well as some of the moms of other posters on this board who deserve a phone call from their sons thanking them for being awesome and sticking by them even when they were total dumbasses.

Funny, because that is NOT on the complaint filed by the police with the Court. All that says is "Arrested did knowingly pull his pants down in a bar to wit: RP McMurphy's where several people were present and witness behavior"
That's because a charging complaint doesn't necessarily include every detail in a police report. It only includes the necessary elements of the (alleged) crime.

I've done some stupid stuff, but I haven't dropped my pants in a bar.. at least not that I can remember. Nothing to see here, he'll be disciplined by Mack and the administration accordingly, and hopefully he learns from his mistake. It's funny for us because we aren't involved, but man this kind of sucks for him. I'm sure fans next year are going to have a field day with this one. I mean come on, who didn't have a fake ID in college?
Okay I'll give my story. Played for Queen City rugby club and was 18 and at an out of town tournament in Ft. Wayne. After day one we went to the bar where they snuck me in the back door. After pounding back a few the bartender started ringing a bell and literally everyone guys, girls and anything else took it all off and was naked in the bar. Seemed like a good idea at the time but hell there were plenty of exposed parts. Hell the worst part was when we put our clothes back on we didn't all get our "original" under garments back. Talk about fun times

But when will what the bar did come into play?
Probably 90% of the people in there knew who he was not Myles Fox Morrisey, and also knew that he was very very probably not 21 years old, should have been told to go long before the belt was loosened
And he probably didn't go alone, his friends were along for the fun? With friends like that. who needs enemies?
Certainly JP is responsible for his actions, but everyone else has to do their job too

I chalk this entire incident up to "kids will be kids". I am sure that I am not the only one on this board that did stupid stuff when I was young, much of it involving alcohol and various stages of undress (for example I once led a naked conga line out to a hot tub at a friend's wedding celebration). Frankly my reaction to this is "There but for the grace of God...."

But, did any witnesses at least share the highlights of the escapades you couldn't remember? Waking up in a jail cell must have been a clue something unusual happened - unless it wasn't that unusual.
If this was the worst thing I did in college, I'd have had a lot of time left over.

I'm going on only assumptions here but if an officer is working a bar detail at RP's on mug club night, my guess is that he's trying to get through the night with as little trouble/work for him as possible. CPD officers don't really make arrests for drunken disorderly bullshit unless they absolutely have to. My guess is that JP was being a drunk jackass, which happens a lot with college kids.

Agree, 82. Once he handed him the fake ID, he was obstructing. You'd think he'd have to be drunk to give a cop a fake ID, but my buddy's source was working at the bar that night and witnessed the whole thing...and he said JP wasn't drunk.
