What do we know about Weber State?
First, their university is pronounced WEEBER State and I think we owe them that given our history with Eggs-avier.
They have one senior on their roster, but he is the Big Sky POY in Joel Bolomboy. Listed at 6-9, 235. It looks like they start a 6-9, 6-9, and 6-7 front line with 6-0 and 6-4 starting guards.
I don't really know much about these guys except that Arceneaux played there when they beat UNC in 1999. It's difficult to determine the matchup since we have no like opponents although they only lost to BYU by 5 and we all know that BYU is the most fun team in the entire world.
If there are any Weber State fans out there willing to give us a synopsis of who the team is that would be great. Thanks!

I'd also love to hear from Weber State about all of their in-state rivalry games. Only Utah didn't play them because it's too passionate for the Utes, apparently.
They also won the Gulf Coast Showcase on Thanksgiving weekend against Central Michigan, Drake and Murray State. A decent team to be sure, but as MOR points out, they have not faced anyone outside of South Dakota State who was anything close to an NCAA Tournament caliber team this season.

This memory will keep me on my toes until the final buzzer sounds.
Man, with more players staying 4 years back then and there being less parity, those upsets really used to mean something. This was a pivotal NCAA basketball moment.

they were pretty good when they had Damian Lillard a few years ago.

They also beat a Chris Paul Wake Forest team one year if I remember correctly, they have a decent program. I don't think it'll be a cake walk, and they'll come out guns blazing.

I suppose they're good enough to beat a brain dead team that overlooks them, but not one who doesn't. As it has been pointed out, they have two really good players that basically ran over the Big Sky conference. But, they had to sweat out a lot of their wins, and we're talking about some of the worst teams in div1, like Southern Utah and Northern Arizona.
I'm not too scared of them. I think we're the best defensive team they've faced all year, and there are a few planets in between us and the second best defensive team they've faced all year.

In the 1995 tourney, 14th seeded Weber State bear 3rd seed Michigan State. That game was played right before the XU-Gtown game first round game, when X had to suspend Pete Sears and Dejuan Rose (for the bar fight a few days before the game.)

Yes, and they lost at the buzzer the next round to an Allen Iverson led Gtown if I recall.

Yep, I was at that game. It was Jud Heathcote's last game.

Allow me to point out that according to the "Urban Dictionary" the word "Weeber" is a slang term for marijuana.
Should be the Weeber State Stoners as a nickname. (Since they insist on a "non- traditional" pronunciation)
Nuts, act accordingly.
