seems X got moved 600 miles bc Nova had to get moved. On surface makes no sense X is in Philly and Nova in Louisville but I gues committee didnt want to penalize 1 seeds. Despite an academicially fraudulent program, the NCAA sure protects their blue bloods.

Anyway good luck in the tourney. Really hope the whole conference has a strong showing.

I don't think our fanbase cares too much about regional location given that Xavier has a favorable draw. I feel bad you guys aren't in the East, but I feel Seton Hall got royally screwed after playing red-hot for two months. They've got to go through Gonzaga and Utah in the altitude just to get to the Sweet 16.

Tell that to Virginia. Michigan State essentially getting home games at the United Center. You cannot swing a dead wolverine without hitting a Spartan in this town.

I'm annoyed by the committee this year more than i can remember any other year. Nova should be in the East, and Xavier should be in the south is jut the tip of the iceberg for me. I'm sick of the committee rewarding mediocre big conference teams over low to mid majors for inclusion...i.e. teams like Syracuse, Pitt, Vanderbilt and Oregon State (a freaking 7 seed you gotta be joking) over a monmouth etc.

I think Nova and X got a great draw and when push comes to shove, I think its pretty fair that they wanted to protect a 1 and therefore had to move us. But I feel you guys were the one that had to pay the consequence based for someone else's quirky situation. Agree Hall got a very tough draw.

yeah i know what you are saying. but i think MSU in Chicagio is similar to X in Louisville or a Nova in NY and I dont think the committe would have had any issue with that. . I dont have a problem if they hook up a 2 seed with something close but it just cant be the home city. This is why it is you that has an argument for getting screwed. I can see if you were forced to move if the regional was at US Bank but Louisville should not have been an issue for X. You are paying for a particilary tricky situation elsewhere.

Doesn't really bother me.

I thought Seton Hall got screwed having to go to Denver to play Gone-zaga...although I hope they beat their dawg ass raw. Somebody has to play in mile high air though, I guess.

I'm a 7-8 minute cab/uber away from Wells Fargo, so I will gladly take this draw.

The thing about Michigan State playing in Chicago is that the city is home to the largest contingent of Spartan alumni (outside of Michigan, of course).

I'm not annoyed at all. As some of the seeds were being revealed I began to worry we had fallen off the 2 seed line. I don't really get too concerned about where we are playing.

if we make it far enough, it would have been nice to play in Louisville, but i don't really care, they will put teams where they put them.

I am not annoyed at all, in fact I am fine with the draw we have. We have some decent match ups, and should be able to win a few games.

It would have been nice to be in Louisville for the second weekend, but our fan base travels well and I am sure will have a presence in Philly. I would rather be in the same region as Kentucky in the East, than have to possibly face them in their own backyard.

Had we been shipped out west, I would have been annoyed but I am good with the other regions. Should be fun.

If we end up playing them in Philly, don't be fooled it will be like we are playing them in their own backyard. I have never seen a fan base that travels as well as they do. I freaking can't stand their team or their fans, but I respect their travel abilities.

I wonder, do they travel well or do people all over the nation become UK fans because they win a lot?

No I think those rednecks will drive anywhere to watch UK play. Kinda like a winter/spring NASCAR race.

They have a huge alumni base and are passionate (and that's drastically underselling it) basketball fans. I'm sure there are some bandwagoners just like any other high profile sports team but i think the majority are either from the state or an alum.

They travel......

Lots of people throughout the bluegrass will make plans to go watch Ky in the NCAA tourney every year, and will make prior arrangements because they know UK will be in it every year. Also remember that besides L'ville they really don't have any other teams within the state boundaries to follow, so the NCAA tourney is like their World Series or Super Bowl. They don't have anything else to follow or root for, except for the local HS.

But also keep in mind that if the size of the school or the size of the rooting section really made a difference to what happens on the court, X would still be back in the MCC/Horizon/Summit. This team can play with anyone and they are not going to intimidated by the name on the jersey.

They will drive, fly, crawl to wherever their Cats play. I'm betting they already booked accommodations and have lines on tickets. They're very seasoned at this and will be there in force. Basketball to them is football for the rest of the SEC. They'll be there. AND I hope we play them. Very informed set of fans once you get past the obnoxious 1%, just like all fan bases, including us. They really appreciate good basketball, which we play. They will be loud and rowdy and be a factor in the game. Let's get through this weekend and then we'll see who might be next. (And they're not all rednecks.)

On the surface kind of but I can also understand the committee not giving a 2 seed a virtual home game against the 1 seed in the regional final

For what it's worth, to the OP I say, "Yeah, the committee was really annoying in how they handled this and I'd especially pissed if I was Nova, which easily could have won Saturday and would have then had a 1 seed with Brooklyn>Philly but a 2 point loss costs them a seed and a venue. Makes no sense. P.S. Nova fans were great in NYC."

As were X fans.

I guess yes Nova fans have right to be upset but I understand the committe reason; not give a 2 seed an unfair advantage to a 1. Sucks but I get it. So to reomove that advantage, they moved us and therefore moved you too, which kind of sucks for X or at least the fans anyway that have to travel more. I can understand not wanting Nova in Philly but X should be in Louisville.
