They were talking about how fans and sponsors like upsets the first weekend and maybe the second, but want "brand household" names in Finals. I really don't understand, truly, how all the pundits think that SucKS is a lock. Most of the same pundits think that Temple is out.

The RPI is mystifying in the case of those two. The Borecats played a schedule that was twice as easy as Temple's in the OOC. Temple finished 1 in the AAAAAAAAAAAAAC and, errr, beat SucKS twice. Temple was 21-11, SucKS 22-10 with a much inferior schedule. The Borecat's "quality win" VCU just got their doors blown off by St. Joes and the only respectable team they beat was SMU that had absolutely NOTHING to play for. GW will be in the NIT.

Looks like RPI gaming at it's best in Clifton.

It just gave them more time to get their stuff in order so they could get to Dayton. Schools have been complaining about finding out late on Sunday. Perhaps they've already told them.

I don't know if that's the case or not, but I do know those schools have said they'd like to know in advance.

That's not how it works. They sum up the S-curve rankings of the top 4 teams in each region, and those sums can't differ that much between each region.

Villanova could actually be the top 2 seed, and it would still work out, though it limits who can be the 3 or 4 seeds. They could easily be the second best 2 seed, with a lot of combinations for the 3 and 4 seeds.

The lowest possible sum of S-curve rankings: 1 + 5 + 9 + 13 = 28

The highest possible sum of S-curve rankings: 4 + 8 + 12 + 16 = 40

These both can't happen, as the regions could not be properly balanced. The average sum is 34, and teams have to be no farther than 3 from that, I believe. Maybe 4. Can't remember exactly.

I had to work so I stayed up all night after my shift and watched the selection show, ESPN bracketology, and the march madness breakdown on CBS sports ( with a little fast forwarding). I don't even think it's a contest of all the shows the CBS March Madness breakdown was heads and shoulders better than any of the other shows. Lots of coach interviews, unbiased analysis and most importantly no bitching. I think I found my yearly show now even though Charles Barkley still makes me laugh, and he is the best personality in all of sports broadcasting.

Someone was really pissed off at the Selection show running slow because of the 2-hour format. I kept waiting for the announcement that Jennifer Hudson was going to be singing One Shining Moment again, because that would have been the perfect FU to the viewers.

Extending the show to 2 hours ruined it for all the networks. Just keeping it at an hour (or even going back to the original half-hour) would have been much better in terms of getting the bracket released. Let the schools who are in the First Four get their logistics resolved and don't give people a reason to leak the brackets on social media. It would have been awesome as hell if someone had leaked a phony bracket and some team that missed out thought they were going to get in (i.e. South Carolina).
