Or Josh Pastner. That's right. UNLV's AD is STILL going to come out of this offseason ahead of Bobinski in the competency department.

But Pastner doesn't allow for his assistant coaches to golf, he's obviously going to be the savior of George Tech with that rule!!

Huh? Odd rule. He's no Steve Spurrier, I guess. What if the job comes with a membership to a nearby course? Say, Augusta National..... Does he allow HIMSELF to golf?

New Mexico State's Marvin Menzies will be UNLV's new coach.
That's a bloody good hire.

I think it's an adequate hire at best. I'm not that sold on him. I know New Mexico State has pretty much owned the WAC, but it's a weak league with programs who have nowhere near what NMSU has. I think Thunder Dan Majerle at Grand Canyon would have made more sense.

Wright State hired Scott Nagy. Out of Georgia Tech, UNLV, and Wright State, I think Wright State ended up with the best coach. That's kind of crazy, but I do believe that to be the case.

Bacari Alexander to be named new coach of University of Detroit in Friday presser. He is former Titan player & assistant coach , currently serves as assistant coach for Michigan.

I didn't realize Ray McCallum got shitcanned. Great coach (and player) at Ball State. I guess he should have stayed there.

He had some good teams at Detroit, and they pretty much sucked when he first got there. I don't blame them for making a change because the last three years have been rough, but they're still better now than they were when he arrived. That's not really saying much, but still.

Coach Ray had 1 yr left but was relieved on April 1. They were a bit underachievers last 2 or 3 seasons and his only good teams were with his son as PG and even then were a bit less than expected. Still slightly less than $.5M.

I don't know if this has been reported yet anywhere, but Damon Stoudamire (yes that Damon Stoudamire) got a head coaching job at Pacific... now that should be interesting.

He was an assistant at Memphis, shocked he didn't get the Memphis job

Over Tubby Smith??

Agreed, rather have someone who is a proven winner, than someone who's just about to take his first head coaching job.

Every place he's coached he's take them to the tournament and Tulsa, Georgia, Minnesota, and Tech aren't exactly top programs.

Wait, you know I was agreeing that I would rather have Tubby Smith over Damon Stoudamire right?

Yes, I was adding onto what you were saying.

Technically not a coaching change, but it looks like our old friend Mike Bobinski will now be AD at Purdue. I've got to think he's a bigger fan of Matt Painter than he was of Brian Gregory and Josh Pastner.

I was a bit surprised by this since Purdue's athletic department is pretty mediocre, but then I checked the Sears Cup standings (called something else now). I didn't realize how absolutely awful the overall athletics program is at Georgia Tech. Can't really blame Bobo for wanting to run away from there, even if it is to West Lafayette.

I think it's the Capital One Cup now.

If you believe the papers around Indy, Greg Christopher was thought to be in the running as well. Glad it worked out for both.

The trolling on that news article is a bit surprising. I guess Tech fans didn't see what we saw in Bobo.
