There was some discussion about Remy in Farr’s senior thread, but thought that he has earned his own thread as well. What a player he is. I know people will sometimes get frustrated with some of his shooting decisions, but how could you want to see LESS of that shooting form—do you hate fun?!
And the DEFENSE! The guy is an athletic freak… his defensive abilities have been recounted numerous times, and I don’t think I can add too much more on that front.
I wish we could have had four years of Remy, but I’ll be happy with the two he gave us. He made a splash from the beginning, as the third leading scorer during the team’s trip to Brazil a couple summers ago. Since then, he has influenced both sides of the ball, whether locking down on defense or getting out in transition, and he's hit a few big shots. I can’t wait to see how he finishes his time at Xavier.
In all three of Remy’s playing seasons to date (11-12, 12-13, and 14-15), his teams have made it to the Sweet 16. That is an excellent accomplishment no doubt, but I believe this is the year he—and the rest of the X men—kick the door down!
Thanks for two great seasons, Remy! Good luck wherever life takes you!

Remy Abell is a pimp. In honor of his Senior Day, I bring back my favorite post from 2014-2015:

Remy doesn't have to be a scorer for us this season, and his defensive abilities are critical for this team. I'm glad he transferred from Indiana, he has been great for us the past couple seasons, no matter what little slumps he's been going through. A great Musketeer.

after transferring, initially, i was expecting more offensively from Abell, but overall, i have been pretty pleased with his contributions during his 2 years here. Let's hope he gets hot for one last stretch during the tourney!

This team has no shortage of scorers. But how many seniors in other programs would so selflessly take on whatever role was needed for the team? He's a guy that never worried about getting his shots and his own numbers, and that selflessness from a senior sets a massive example for the rest of the team. He's also stepped up on occasion when we do need him to shoulder an offensive load (he killed Butler twice) and has been a terrific defender on a team lacking them. I have enjoyed watching him play and having him as a part of our program.

"Remey gave us two super victories--at Michigan and in the tourney...he had been there and done that. The man has been an unselfish leader from the day he set foot on the Cintas floor.

You could also argue that he won the Butler game when Ed couldn't play, by scoring 21 and shutting Mouthbreather Dunham down!

He absolutely owned Dunham during his two years here.
I am really going to miss these 2. Both are ultimate, selfless, TEAM players. I only wish we had Remy for all 4 years. Best wishes to both! I'm sure they'll be successful in whatever path they choose.

Remy has been a favorite player of mine these past two seasons. I always felt like X played better when he was on the floor. Best of luck to him in his future endeavours. Somehow I could see him becoming a coach, but I don't know the guy, so who knows.

Representing Kentucky high school basketball too. I love seeing these Ky kids play/sign at Xavier.
